So extremely frustrated and disappointed in Save Mart on Palendale's bakery. I went into the store about a month and a half ago to talk about placing an order for my daughter's first birthday "smash cake". I showed the women behind the counter a picture of the simple ombré cake I wanted and she said "no problem". I even asked if I could send her the picture to reference back to since it was a full month and a half away. To which she agreed. Today when I called the bakery to see if my cake was ready a lady responded, "the purple one?" So I said "no, the pink ombré smash cake." She then offered to text me a picture. The cake was not AT ALL what I had asked for and to be honest, if I were them I would be embarrassed to sell that first cake. I explained to the lady that was not what I wanted and she was very nice and asked me to send her a picture of what I was looking for. I did and she said they would make it right. I was very appreciative and still somewhat hopeful. An hour later she sends me a picture of a new cake. Still not what I asked for. Another hour later she sends me a picture of a third cake! Again, nothing like the picture I sent them. I finally went down to the store to see if anything else could be done. The two ladies helping (1 was manager Maria) were nice, but not very helpful. The night got even more frustrating when they finally told me "yeah we can't make that cake..." I explained that they should have explained that a month and a half ago, or even at 2:00 when I had first called and resent the picture. By this point it was 6:00pm and I needed the cake for tomorrow morning at 7am. The second woman helping me had the never to say "next time talk to someone in the bakery about your order." I explained the woman I first spoke to WAS behind the bakery counter and took my cake order no problem. How would I possibly know she wasn't apart of the bakery department?!?! To make everything worse, they still felt the need to charge me full price for a cake I was not at all satisfied with. I am beyond frustrated and disappointed in the product and customer service at the Palendale Bakery. I will never place an order there again. read more

Savemart delivery was horrible. Didn't realize that the delivery company is not affiliated with the store but it's connected to your Savemart app account. Nisar was our delivery and shopper. They got our order wrong, gave me the wrong produce. Charged us for items that we didn't even order when we got the receipt. Savemart couldn't help us because it's not handled by them, called the number was on hold for 80 minutes then they hung up. Why is Savemart using them to deliver groceries. Don't use it! I love Savemart but hate this service. read more

Should have looked at the reviews for cake ordering/bakery first! MY MOTHER'S CELEBRATION OF LIFE... Went down there 4 days early. Ordered 2 cakes with pictures on each. Very specific with order.. Spent about 30 minutes with bakery clerk. Bakery manager was there and scanned pics and knew what I wanted/requested. Arrived to pick up cakes and literally wanted to burst into tears. The formal half sheet with parents wedding photo looks shoddy, uneven, over spray of color along one side, edges umeven and splitting, and just plain cheap. Had to take it. The second I left behind. Quater sheet cake. Pic of my mother was ok. . But the message I ordered (4 words - written in all CAPS on order form) was wrong. . UNREAL. Then when they "fixed" it she just covered incorrect message with white frosting and placed clear plastic piece of something over it with the correct quote. My mother's cake looked like a 3 ring circus . Uneven and cheap. Will not purchase cake there again... read more

okay I have to kill my original review after I went to the fresh seafood department. Fish is delivered on tuesday Thursday and saturday.. if you purchase fish these are the only days to visit this store. The balance of the week feature brown, cloudy eyed, stink fish that you find on the beach. It was so sickening. I think the only well cared for fish is at the sushi counter. The sushi chef was hired away from a sushi restaurant so his sushi is superb, but I still wouldn't purchase the sushi unless it is on tuesday thursday or saturday just to be safe. read more

This store has the one thing I really crave and that is GOOD country style sausage. Have tried it from other markets here in town and they just don't stack up to Save Mart's. I'm really disappointed this time. I had to make a review about the bakery. I have been ordering cakes there for years. I love the lemon bomb cake. I order twice a year for my birthday and my son's birthday. I have ordered 3 times this year. My son's cake same out perfect because I picked it up at 7 am. The other two times were a disaster. I just had a birthday sunday. I live probably a mile and a half away from store. I picked up birthday cake opened it before I left to make sure it was round. Got in my car and drove home. It only takes me 5 minutes to get home. When I got home it was melted and tilted. I was disappointed again. Cake was not even cold. I had my air blasting in my car so I know it couldn't have melted that fast. When I cut into my cake it completely fell apart. I couldn't even enjoy my cake. I was mad then. So I called bakery to complain but got put on hold for 35 minutes. Ridcilous!!! I had to physically go down the next day with pictures and receipt. They asked if I wanted to order another cake. No my birthday is past now. They just gave me my money back. I had to throw my favorite cake away because some people at the bakery don't know how to refrigerate a cake. Thanks alot. read more

Pros: Large, clean, 5 for 5 deals on meats, most of the staff is friendly and polite. Cons: every time that I come here after work at 6am there is a woman that works the registers at the front of the store. Most of the time she's talking to an older woman with short grayish hair. The two of them have really poor customer service skills. I usually use self check out because they're talking and really don't seem interested in helping when I'm ready to check out. If you (I) run into a problem with the self check out, the younger woman with the dark long hair comes to help after too much time has passed, and she seems really annoyed to have to help. The thing is, I'm using self check out to try to avoid disturbing her! So this morning I decided to go through her register. There is the one woman talking to her, and another employee that goes through the check out line (a male). The three of them stand around talking while I'm in the line waiting to get rang up, mind you whatever the other employee purchased or needed to do was done. No transaction was being completed, they were just standing there talking for a good 20-30 seconds without even an acknowledgment that I was there. The dark haired lady even looked right at me and didn't even acknowledge me. I think in customer service that is extremely rude. I just looked at my receipt. Her name is Norma. The only reason I continue to come to this store is that it's on my way home from work, but Obriens Market is right down the street, it's more expensive, but the staff there have always been very polite and make sure they greet me every time I come in and when I'm ready to check out... As I said for the most part, the staff at Savemart is great, but to have the cashier that you deal with, the person that will have direct contact with your customer be so rude if a bad move. read more

I have been coming to this Savemart for a very long time. The cashiers and baggers are always friendly. I normally don't write reviews but this one bagger stood out to me. Sierra was extremely helpful. She was helped me out with my groceries without any complaints. She asked to help me out instead of me asking. She talked to me and had a conversation with me like we've known each other for years. I absolutely adored her!! Her cute bubbly personality was very cute and she acted liked she loved her job. My family and I have been going to savemart since when it used to be at its old location by Rite Aid. The staff is so amazing here! They are all truly amazing people. Never have they hired or have I met someone who isn't pleasant to talk to or see. They are all very kind, generous, and helpful people. The store has a wide variety of cooking essentials as well as daily living essentials. This location does have a great pharmacy! read more

Great clean and fresh store to shop at but the prices are all that great. Most of the time I stop here it's to buy beer or because it's opened late at night and on my way home. Or I'm simply stopping to get a movie from red box inside the store. The employees here are all nice and friendly too. Pharmacy incompetence and arrogance at the best, Corporate greed at the worst, When the chips are down and you are in dire need, go elsewhere! Could have received better service at a pharmacy in Tijuana, Mx! Dislocated shoulder, tore out rotator cuff, great pain! Dr, gave a prescritpion for 40 pain pills. Took it to this pharmacy. Went to pick it up, they only had 24 pills, Told me to pick up the balance on Monday, Oct 6. Oct 6 marked a change in law. How did I know this? The pharmacist himself told me. What he didn't tell me was that I would have to go back to the Dr, and get a new prescription. So when the pain got so bad that I went back to get more pills (don't want to become an addict) they told me too bad! That I would have to go back to Dr, and get a new script. This means 24 hours, or more, of unecessary excruiatiing pain and loss of wages (becuase I have to take off work to drive across town to my Dr, to pick up the script). Had I known about this change in law and what it meant, I would've elected to go to another pharmacy and filled my "Enitre" script there, not to mention two co-pays now! Save marts arrogance and incomptence mislead me. Now I have to endure unecessary pain and suffering and will lose work wages tommorrow to go correct their mistake. Always find everything i need. I come here all the time i love coming here because there is not that many people at all ever in the parking lot or in the store when i go. Its a nice feeling not feeling so overly crowded. Always have everything i am looking for. Great variety and of everything its always clean. They used to have someone greet you when you walked in, but i dont think they do anymore. I dont care for that much its nicer not feeling like your being watched. Overall i love this place read more

I'm giving it 3 stars. This place is super clean, massive produce section. The sea food sections smells so fresh an amazing, yup even the fish area is sparkling clean. Most of the service is awesome. However, I always get the older lady in the day time who just seems kind of, um... Bitter? Anyways my problem is the price, I don't know what the "save" in "save mart" is for. Not to mention, I'm new by the way to the area, they only seem to sell foster farms chicken. I was a loyal raley's, trader Joe's, and whole foods shopper. So, needless to say this place just doesn't have the products I prefer and I'm not going to pay the same price for something that isn't natural. Maybe I didn't give it a chance? But as a new resident I depend on yelp desperately. Also, I'm hitting every grocer in the area as a goal, to find the best price for my products. But if you love a gigantic grocery store and are the name brand buyer (soda, chips, not organic, ya'know, a middle shelf shopper) this place will be a dream for you! read more

Have shopped at this store for the last 18 years. Never I have had such rude service. I always try to use self check out as there is almost never a line. Went in the store today to get ground turkey. Sign in front of the Jenie o turkey said $4.99. Sigh to left said said $4.49. As I checked out the turkey rang up $5.99. I very nicely asked cashier that price is wrong. She just took meat from hand and went to check the price. She finally came back and said it's the lean Jennie o turkey that is $4.99. I told her the sigh to the left said $4.49. She said I did not look at that. and then says do you want it or not. Very rudely. Then another cashier say mamm it's the price i checked also. I told them both did you see the sign on the left. They said no. Also the $4.99 sign does not say what kind of turkey. Very disappointed in the customer service at this store. Price are always marked incorrectly. read more

Savemart is not fresh food because i bought shrimp there and it was manager special packages i bought three packeges that were$11.99lb when i was driving home i smelled something funny in the car so i go home i open the packeges and shrimp smell funky like smell inside car and they where yellow and greenish they were rotten throw them in trash !!! read more
