The sushi was delish, they had all of the standard fare plus some neat inventions. The group ordered a large platter of the Philly sushi, which was great, paired with a nice salad and then a fabulous dessert . Top notch! Our waiter was exceptional, very friendly, and we always had exactly what we needed and he even got our jokes. The ambience is nice , the place has a happy feel to it. Plenty of selections at the bar, comfortable seating, and there's also outside dining during the nicer months. And, there is a small stage for music, so I'll have to come back on an evening or a weekend.

Ended up getting the crab rangoon for an appetizer, It was not folded the traditional way that you see most of the time but it was cooked to perfection!! Had a great crunch and was a large portion. I got a Thai Coffee to drink and it was sooooo good. For my rolls I got the Spicy Ying Yang Roll and the Spicy Karma Roll. Both were good size and had amazing flavor. Do Not order these if you don't like heat thought, they defiantly brought it. I will definitely add this to my rotation of sushi places to eat at.

The place was warm and perfect for a cold winter day. Space was decorate all over and seeing a handful of customers and staff was reassuring too. The server was so nice and seated us right away. Looking over the menu we order a ramen bowl, sushi, and a bubble tea. Everything came out fresh, hot, and delicious. It was great and we can't wait to visit again. Perfect little gem that's not packed and great for date nights.

We no longer felt like we were old friends and they were happy to see us, but just customers. Service was slow and sporadic. The menu is kind of the same, bit the food was completely different. I have never had salty such rolls before. Could barely eat the Alaskan roll for the salt and that was without soy sauce. Had to ask for Wasabi for our rolls. Teriyaki chicken had a nice flavor, so kudos on that part of the meal. Previously, Omo's was our go to restaurant when we got to KC. I have just been given an excuse to try other restaurants. Ambiane looks the same, but music was way too loud and even the chopsticks are nice, but not as nice as they were. But, at least they aren't disposable. We miss the old chef and waiter.

I would like to be very honest here, I was really misled by the ratings and reviews here on Yelp…read more While I thought the decor was really nice, added a cute Korean and Japanese touch, the food did let me down. We got the Yummy Combo with Garden Salad ($17), the Mango Tango Roll ($14), and the Sakura Blossom Roll ($14). The service was fast, and our server was very sweet and caring. To begin with, even though the sushi looked colorful and appealing, it lacked taste. It was missing seasoning, felt stale, and had almost zero freshness. It reminded me of the premade sushi you get at PanAsia, Target, or Sam's Club. Freshness is a huge factor for me when I go out for sushi, but this just didn't have it. The rice was dry by the time it reached our table, and it wasn't sticky enough. It felt like the cold rice was microwaved and then used to make sushi - that's the feeling I got. I also didn't think it was worth the money. We spent over $50 + after tax and tip for three rolls, which is similar to what many other sushi restaurants charge, but those places serve much fresher and better quality sushi - Sushi Uni in Lenexa. The garden salad dressing was also a complete disappointment. It had no distinct ginger flavor or even enough seasoning. It was very thick and heavily spread over the salad, which made it unpleasant to look at and eat. Overall, the service was excellent, but the food didn't live up to the ratings or the price. The three stars are for the lovely server, the beautiful decor, and the well presented sushi. I really hope they improve the freshness because, based on the older reviews, they seem to have the potential to serve much better sushi. If they do, I will be the first one to definitely come back to try more of their beautiful looking rolls.

Then we sat down at the teppanyaki table, and things went south faster than a dropped egg. Our server was solid, but the "chef" was a total trainwreck. It felt like we were an inconvenience to his schedule. He just rushed through the motions with zero engagement, like he was checking off a grocery list instead of actually cooking for people. The "Highlights" (and I use that term loosely): The Timing: I ordered the steak and scallops. He finished my steak before the rice even hit the grill. My cow just sat there getting cold while we watched him "work." The Culinary Wisdom: When one of us asked if the beef was a strip or a ribeye, he literally just said, "It's steak." Cool. Glad we cleared that up. The Cross-Contamination Special: We had a vegetarian in the group. He proceeded to cook her tofu directly in the steak juice. Truly a "chef's kiss" moment if you hate your customers. The Doneness (or lack thereof): The salmon was basically still swimming (raw), and the scallops were charred and tasted like fire and brimstone. The Mussels: I grabbed a side of green mussels. They were... fine? I've had much better elsewhere in town, but they were the Olympic gold medalists of my meal by default. The Silver Lining? The Sake. It came in a take-home glass, was incredibly easy to drink, and was 100% necessary to get through the rest of the experience. I can't speak for the sushi, but if it's handled with the same "I don't want to be here" energy as the teppanyaki, I'd stay far, far away. Two stars only because the hostess was nice and the Sake did its job.

Their happy hour is every day 4-6, all day Wednesday, and Friday and Saturday 8-10. We ordered a couple rolls and apps. My fave was the Kansas City Roll. Smoked Salmon, with cream cheese, then they cut the roll, fry the pieces, then sliced in half. Perfection! I had had crab Rangoons a few hours earlier, so I didn't order them... but the table next to me did and I was slightly envious.... Most of the food rolls out from the kitchen on a robot trey. It's a very fun way as the robot livens up the room. Our server made the final delivery from Trey to Table. For entrees, we ended up with surf and Turf. My friends loved the cali roll & please don't get me started on the margaritas!!! They were sooo delicious! The only con was that if you don't like your food, they won't take it off your bill. My Kansas City roll tasted burnt (specifically the salmon)... it was too smoked.. but they said they couldn't do anything about it. So $12 down the drain. No replacements or anything. Even with that, I would still come back. I just know what to order now. They also have a patio which is pretty cute & a decent dining area. I recommend for a date night or a guys/girls night out!
