I always find clothing items at this store. When I'm looking for kitchen things, I usually seem to find what I'm looking for without an issue. The staff is friendly and they keep the store as clean as they can. I love that they still offer specials as well! read more

They've ample stock, just not very good quality nor at the bargain base prices thrifters are accustomed to from shopping at Goodwill or Salvation Army stores. I gave them a 3 because they did have a nice shoe selection as well as cute costume jewelry. I'll drop in from time to time, but most likely will stick to the Salvation Army on Nerge. read more

My review is not for the employees, they were fine, but I do question the judgment of the managers. I get it, this is a for-profit organization, but still, it's a thrift store. I've been looking for kitchen chairs for my boyfriend and his brother for weeks now, trying to find something affordable for two young 20's, and finally I found something nice, clean, and a set of 4 matching chairs. I was happy! Until I heard the words "you have to get the full set"... I don't want the full TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR set, just the chairs! The full set includes a corner bench, a straight bench, a high chair and one other piece-- you seriously couldn't separate that? You're a thrift store, not a consignment store, get over yourself -_- evil Charlotte hopes the set never sells. Hmph read more

For the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone donates merchandise to a FOR PROFIT organization. Has everyone become sooooo lazy that they don't want to take the extra minute or two and find an actual CHARITY to donate their goods to (i.e. Salvation Army, Goodwill, Marklund)? I heard a store announcement about having a sale night for your organization but, what do they give back 10 or 20%? Interesting ploy to get people in and to spend money. Enough on that rant... However, merchandise was generally quite sad. When there was a "good brand" they seemed to know and priced accordingly and charged an outrageous amount. Lots of print t-shirts-yucck. Like someone already mentioned, you could walk over to TJMaxx and generally do better buying new based on those prices. One good point, they take returns for same day purchase (reselection) within 7 or 10 days. But, that fact alone isn't enough for me to warrant a return. read more

You may find good stuff here...but I find much of their stuff also to be junk. Nothing is checked thoroughly before putting out for sale. One time my husband bought a blender here. It was so rusted you could not even unscrew the cup from the base. Totally worthless. If it is electrical or something that requires an adaptor, the adaptors are always missing. Wing's refuses to take things for sale if adaptors are missing. One such item was a cooler to plug in ...in your auto, another was a Christmas angel. They sold my husband a beer mug which was previously broken and glued back together in many places. They sell broken printers and outdated electronics. Personally, I hope they leave the Hoffman Estates area and never return. Good luck to those who shop here. read more

I'm an employee (I know I'm technically supposed to say good things, but I could also say bad things, but totally helpful, I think). Good things: 1: On "sale days" the company orders pizza, chicken, a manager made rare burgers (Ew, I had to microwave it to make it well-done). 2: I like that we could wear jeans, sneakers and T-shirts (as long as the shirts are appropriate black). I put walk around all day, so wearing sneakers is perfect for me. People think I'm nuts enjoying walking all day, as opposed to standing around tagging clothes and hanging all day, sometimes talking to people, but thinking about movies or books, but at least I'm losing weight...sooo yeah, which do you think is better? I think it's okay that people could have their hair colored/cut in almost anyway they want and tattooed, as long as it's appropriate. I think their styles and colors are stupid, but whatever. And tattoos all over are gross, but that's just my opinion. 3: I like that I it's part of the Epilepsy Foundation, seeing as how I have epilepsy. Literally a week before I applied, I talked to my dad, wondering if there was such a foundation, and the hiring manager said there was. How perfect is that? Since the bosses know that I have my issue and understand I might have to go to the doctors often, they don't seem to mind that I have to request the times off to go to the appointments, as long as I request them 2 weeks or more ahead of time. 4: Awesome discounts. I normally HATE clothes shopping, but with my discounts, I already bought 5 or 6 shirts. Because I'm losing so much weight, I bought a belt that has holes that goes all around the way. Before, I was punching holes through the belt with a hammer and a nail myself. All belts should be like the way I bought mine...all the way around. I can't say if the prices are too high or low in general on things because I don't shop for bed & bad, housewares, or furniture, so I can't compare the prices from here to non-thrift store prices. 5: I can say we're better than Good Will ("More like Bad Will" as Caroline on 2 Broke Girls said). I'm not supposed to bad mouth other stores, but it is Bad Will. I've only been to Goodwill once and they're unorganized. We size clothes by section and size. Example: Long sleeve Knit, S, M, L, XL. They only organized it my color, red, white, blue....who cares? I have to actually look in the shirts to see what the sizes are. At Savers for books, etc we try to put them up and down, next to each other like the library. Good Will has them thrown all over. Ditto with other things. We put things next to each other. G W puts things on top of each other where things could be broken. Savers...well toys, we try to put them on the shelves as nicely as we can, but we're still more organized than GW. Bad things: 1: I once said I couldn't work Saturdays, which is when they apparently need me and so instead of having me work 4 or 5 days in which they originally had me, I was down to 1 day...what!?!?!?! So I had to completely cancel what I wanted to do and work Saturdays. So 1 1/2 year later, I haven't done what I wanted to do and have worked Saturdays ever since. It sucks, but what can you do? So instead of working 1 day, I work 3. 7:30 am to 4pm, depending on when we get out, maybe 2 or 3. At least it's better than before. I hate getting up at 6 am, but whatever. 2: The bosses don't train enough. Then again, the mistakes I see are sometimes caused my the veterans who I think don't care if things are in the wrong spot or not. I know it's not my job to put them in the correct spot, but it, pardon my French, but pisses me off when I see it in the wrong spot. Especially when it's evident where it should be. "PJ SET AND NIGHTGOWN" AND "NIGHTGOWNS" are two different things. One has 2 things and one has 1. GRRRR. I don't know if it's bad that I keep tattling to my boss about it or if he gets irritated, but I think it's imperative. The customers might be confused, or they might not care, but I know if I were a customer, I sure as heck would be confused. Especially if I were a newbie. "I thought this should go here, why is this here?" 2.2: I drew a diagram as to the Proper Kids Locations go, I should probably draw a smaller version. It's really not that freaking hard. Like I said, I don't think people give a rats butt. If you don't care, you shouldn't be here. Simple as that. 3: Managers should make sure people are at their stations in the morning. There's something called "morning maintenance" where 7:30 - 9 am or so, people have to remove "recycle" a certain amount when a section is full so customers would be able to search for clothes. Sometimes it's so full, that when I put clothes, I can't put clothes away. I wonder if people were either in that section or if they did it at all. So meanwhile, while I'm putting clothes away, I end up recycling clothes too early in the day. That's all I can think of right now read more

Neat, clean and organized. I love thrift shops but when the prices are padded because it is privately owned I have a concern. Many items were very over priced. $8 for a women's wrinkled up tee shirt that had seen its day just because the label said Crazy Horse? No way! That was just one example in many. Walking past the shoe section I noticed dirty women's gym shoes for $12. Huh? No thank you! read more

Let me start out by saying that I love savers, not sure what I do more, buy or donate there, I have one right by my work in Arlington Hts that I go to all the time, the store is nice and well organized. The other day I was meeting a friend for dinner in Schaumburg and I decided to check out Savers there, on Golf Ave, I also have 2 things to return (exchange, since you can only exchange within 7 days). The location is horrible, there is NO parking, took me 20 minutes just to find a parking spot, but I was determined, since it was the last day for me to exchange my items. After finding a spot, I had to drag everything across the parking lot to the store, the minute I stepped into the store, I was very disappointed, and the store was dirty and not inviting. I looked around for a while, just couldn't find anything that I wanted, I grabbed a few things, and came to the register. After waiting in line, I was told that only one person takes returns and I had to wait in line again for Jason. Right away, I was told that I can't use my coupon that I received for a donation just a day ago, because the difference between what I was returning and purchasing was less than $10, but the fact that my original purchase was a lot more than that and my exchange was over $10, no one took into the consideration. Then he tells me that he will not be taking my items back, because according to him, the tags are not correct, all the items were bought within the last 7 days at the Arlington Hts location. I proceeded to tell him, that I don't know how these stores label the items, since I don't work there and this is how I bought the items. And I was not going to lose more money by not returning them within the 7 day period, and that I already wasted 40 minutes between parking, dragging these items into the store and trying to find something else. Then he tells me that he can call the Arlington Hts store and they can check if these are the items that I purchased (not sure how they would do that) after seeing my happy reaction and a relieve in my eyes, he changed his mind and tells me that he will take my items back, but will not give me back any of my receipts.....since he is already doing this HUGE favor for me...... Needless to say, I will NEVER go back to this Savers and if this is a place that takes my donations, resells them, then refuses to do an even exchange if a coupon was used or let the customer use another coupon, $3 in my case in their pocket, and then make is impossible to return things.....just left with a VERY bad taste of the company as a whole..... read more

This store is pretty nice. Their sales seem backwards though. They seem to lower the prices when they have their 50% off sale. I went in today for their Veterans Day sale and, bought a pair of American Eagle jeans with the original tags still on them for $6.50, a pair of Cold water Creek jeans with the tags still on them for $13, ( they had an $80 price tag still on them.) an Adidas hoodie, a DC shirt and an Under Amour shirt and a 3rd pair of jeans and, it was only $33 with the 50% off sale. Other stores would either save the good stuff for after the sale or jack up the prices really high for the sale. This store seems really honest. read more

Love shopping here. My 15 year old daughter can choose from over 30-50 pair of jeans in her size - try doing that at the mall. She usually can find at least 6 pair that she likes. We were there on Saturday - came out with 3 beautiful sweaters, one brand new top from The Gap, a book, a pair of jeans and a brand new scarf with tags still on it from Kohl's. My daughter also found a pair of 9 West pumps for under $10 - excellent condiiton. total was under $25.00. LOVE this location - really nice people, great selection. read more

There is a lot of merchandise in this store and it's well laid out. It's pricier than Salvation Army. The staff is helpful. I'll be back.

Prices on electronic merchandise are on par with goodwill, this store seems to not have a lot of business as I could still find some good stuff there at 9pm on a Saturday. It is interesting to see wall filled with bagged items, and bags of stuffed animals. They also bag unrelated items together for $4.99. It's going to be an additional place to visit along with goodwill and Salvation Army. read more
