I drop off donations here ALL the time! The staff is super friendly, helpful, efficient, thorough. The location is phenomenal (at least for me), as the parking is perfecto and store is super central to Los Angeles. They will take most everything (just ask before) and can utilize it for either selling or giving to a needy source. Inside, I like the supply they have. Plus, the team/employees generously select items properly (unlike goodwill) and it all goes to Red Cross which I have been PERSONALLY funded by before. It's a win win for me, and HOPE or you as well. This savers is a very big store ! Lots of clothes, toys, housewares ext... just lots of items. Some are reasonably priced while others are just very expensive. Also, you pay taxes here ! So I'm assuming it's a for profit thrift store. If you're looking for cheap clothes , then Salvation Army is cheaper. I like coming here for glasses, jewelry and miscellaneous items. Aw, this Savers location only averages 2 stars. I found them to be A-OK! Have been to another Savers location in the South Bay a couple of years ago. Mom wanted to check this Lakewood location out. These folks are for-profit opposed to Goodwill thrift stores who are nonprofit. The Savers prices are significantly higher than items you would find at a Goodwill. Was amazed at how the clothing is organized by size. At other thrift stores, clothes are often not in size order. Store was clean and the employee at the self check out section was kind. I did get the cute, big Valentine's bear sitting on the couch! Mom scored an item that had an orange tag (sale color tag of the day) and got 50% off of 14.99. I was happy to hear a Savers went in next to the Lakewood Mall. Inside is fairly neat and tidy. Some areas are better than other. I only really came to check out the toy section. They do have a much better selection of dolls and toys and I was able to score a bag of enamel pins for cheap. That said, the dolls are a bit pricey. In one location you can get the same thing for half the cost. Meh, it's not a huge deal but definetly a bummer. My 12 year old decided to buy a large wheel chair, while I was shopping. When I realized what he did I asked to return it or get store credit. They denied any return or exchange. I recognize my responsibility here but I think a store making money off of other peoples donations can be a little more flexible. Seriously, they take donations and make profit. Had an errand to run in Long Beach and after checking that off the list and grabbing breakfast, Mom and I found ourselves with a lotta wiggle time still before her next appointment. So, I did a search for a Savers on the off chance there might be one nearby. 4 miles away from where we were?!? That's how we ended up here. Mom loves thrift stores, so this was a treat! I've been to the ones located in Lomita, Walnut Creek, Vacaville and Pleasanton (I know: that's a lot!) so I sorta knew what to expect. I know about the chaos that happens on Tuesdays with the Senior Citizen discounts, so coming through a Wednesday, I didn't expect much. To my (not-so) surprise, this place was CLEAN. Everything was clean and organized. I didn't even realize I needed stuff but they were so easy to find, I ended up making bargain buys! Mom stayed at the jewelry area for the most part of the time we were there and she, too, scored stuff. Kudos to the staff helping her out there - she was incredibly patient! In my carelessness, I forgot one thing on the counter I'd already paid for before I walked out. We were chased by staff with it! Awesome! Great first run! STEPH JUDGEMENT: Huge, clean, and convenient. I've been trying to do more thrifting of late for economic and environmental reasons and Savers has been a great option for that. A friend gave me the hot tip about this place and I wasn't disappointed. First of all, the place is enormous, so the selection was great. Second, despite how big it is, the store was clean and the racks well-organized. Third, they have a drive-up donation center in the back--very convenient. Fourth, if you sign up for their emails, they let you know of special savings opportunities. So far, so good. My only caveat is to make sure you try on things, because the quality of the clothes can vary. I bought a dress without trying it on and it ended up fitting weird because it was poorly constructed in the first place (probably the reason for it winding up in the donation pile). Not a fault of the store, and this is certainly a caveat for all secondhand places. That said, I've been happy with most of my finds here and will be back. read more

I and my roommate, caretaker have shopped here at this SAVERS, six times now. We were here last week. As soon as we enter, I akways make a beeline, to the showcases in front! I am an electronics gadget fanatic! There were two Amazon Fire tablets on hand. I always carry a phone charger, with both the micro USB, and USB-C cables to test an android to see if it at least charges. Both Amazon Fire tablets worked. I only bought one. The tablet works great! The pricing at this Lakewood Savers is stupid, greedy, and exploitative. You'll drive away all your customers if you keep this up. Remember, your customers know that everything you're selling was donated to you for free. We realize that operating costs can be high, but come on. You're trying to charge $11.99 for ratty old t-shirts that are clearly the Walmart or even KMart store brands?!? And this picture is of two pencil holders, priced at $1.99 each, clearly from Dollar Tree (the Greenbrier brand is their store brand, and I bought identical ones for my kids a few months ago) where they would have been sold for $1.25 each. How stupid do you think people are?!? And one of the pencil holders was even cracked! Ugh, this place really puts me off with the greediness of its pricing. Putting this in here because a few weeks ago the building had leaking problems and a horrible smell. Apparently that smell is black mold. The drippings fell into a tupperware full of disgusting water. The employees didnt seem to care. I have no idea how you would still sell items in a store in a place like that. A lot of buildings in lakewood are very old, the mall is delapidated, the walgreens is unrenovatrd, but this isnt fit to be running the way it is. read more

I will agree with rest of the reviews the prices were crazy for being a thrift store. You could find original tags and see that the price is only a dollar cheaper. I will say that the inventory was stocked and a lot to look for. The furniture section wasn't so much. So if that's what you are looking for I wouldn't go here. Up until today, I would tell my friends how great Savers in Lakewood is regarding pricing. I normally shop there once per month. Today the pricing was insane and over the top. $30 for a jacket with stains on it. $15 dollars for a trinket, $5 dollars for artificial flowers that are from the dollar store. $30 for a mirror that should be $20. I'm no longer going there or sharing with my friends until they bring their prices back down to normal. Plus, regarding the different color tags that are on sale, what's the deal with them taking items marked with colored tags taken back to the storage room and then advertising a color that is no longer on the floor is on sale. Before this store officially opened, I donated some things, and now I've come back to donate again, but also check out the store. The awesome part is that they give you a 20% off coupon when you donate. Now, upon reading reviews, many state that items are overpriced for a thrift store. Keep in mind that I didn't browse everything in the store. However, my daughter was able to pick out some decent priced books. Books are actually buy 4, get the 5th free. They over price like crazy, why am I paying almost $20 for a USED sweater. Lots of the items are better to buy as new at like Marshall's. A jar or random jewlery is $100?? Which is insane because they get it for free. Finds aren't that great and the staff are very passive aggressive, I get it after a long day but I asked an employee for a ring and she took it to the front register and when I asked for it she just came to the self checkout and scanned it for me. This thrift store nonprofit allegedly is charging ridiculous prices on their so-called high end items. They are charging prices that are prices you pay in the store for things that they got donated. Even though I miss Big Lots (Savers took its spot), I am pleasantly surprised when I finally got around to checking this new Savers out. As soon as I entered I was impressed at how clean and organized stuff was. Also, what an interesting way they hang their pants - I personally had never seen that before, but it made going through their pants selection a lot smoother. Their shoe selection was great too, I don't believe I ever saw any shoes missing its pair, or piles on the floor either. Come to think of it, I never saw clothing on the floor at all. Like the employees are on it to keep it looking good. I appreciate that. They had some good knick knacks too, lots of glassware, kitchen decor, etc. Overall I spent about an hour or so walking through the aisles. I scored quite a few things too. Two blouses, a dress, a pair of banana republic jeans, a pair of boots, two skirts, 3 small cake molds that can bake in the oven, and a ceramic trinket. Checkout was cool too, I believe they were all self-checkouts (don't quote me). Very clean area, easy to use POS - they had a hanger rack near, instead of the usual bin; I like that. In my opinion, I thought most prices were reasonable, at least what caught my eye. The most expensive item I purchased were the jeans with its original price being $15 something BUT when I scanned it during checkout, it was reduced to $12 with change. And actually most of the clothes I bought were on sale so I got a discount. I think that's pretty cool. While I can understand why people are complaining about certain prices being way too high for a thrift store, sadly, inflation is happening everywhere, including our thrift stores. It definitely sucks. But I sure wish thrifting was like it used to be - I miss those days. I also blame these social media influencers. They made thrifting super trendy. Ugh. 5/2/2025 Saw a post on social media that they had put out a stack of video games when I arrived all I saw was 2 good games and the rest of the games are trash. But then I noticed 3 bins hidden full of video games I ask the girl working that department if I can see and buy what's in the bins ? She claim she can't till whatever it's on the shelves sell first. I also noticed her calling someone in the radio when ever I look away. Then I walk over to Richard and ask him the same question he said they can't do that and then he said his the store manager. I knew he was lying because all the games where put out last night and I know that Richard n the chubby girl are working together either holding the bins for someone else or for then to keep and resell them n keep all the money.
