Even though I miss Big Lots (Savers took its spot), I am pleasantly surprised when I finally got around to checking this new Savers out. As soon as I entered I was impressed at how clean and organized stuff was. Also, what an interesting way they hang their pants - I personally had never seen that before, but it made going through their pants selection a lot smoother. Their shoe selection was great too, I don't believe I ever saw any shoes missing its pair, or piles on the floor either. Come to think of it, I never saw clothing on the floor at all. Like the employees are on it to keep it looking good. I appreciate that. They had some good knick knacks too, lots of glassware, kitchen decor, etc. Overall I spent about an hour or so walking through the aisles. I scored quite a few things too. Two blouses, a dress, a pair of banana republic jeans, a pair of boots, two skirts, 3 small cake molds that can bake in the oven, and a ceramic trinket. Checkout was cool too, I believe they were all self-checkouts (don't quote me). Very clean area, easy to use POS - they had a hanger rack near, instead of the usual bin; I like that. In my opinion, I thought most prices were reasonable, at least what caught my eye. The most expensive item I purchased were the jeans with its original price being $15 something BUT when I scanned it during checkout, it was reduced to $12 with change. And actually most of the clothes I bought were on sale so I got a discount. I think that's pretty cool. While I can understand why people are complaining about certain prices being way too high for a thrift store, sadly, inflation is happening everywhere, including our thrift stores. It definitely sucks. But I sure wish thrifting was like it used to be - I miss those days. I also blame these social media influencers. They made thrifting super trendy. Ugh. Now, while I enjoyed my shopping experience, l must take away a star because THEY DON'T HAVE DRESSING ROOMS! That's pretty ridiculous considering the amount of clothing there is. read more

Store is incredibly clean, well organized and the staff in really helpful. You can find some great stuff at a wonderful price. Some things were a bit overpriced though. There is a very large selection ( jackets , sweaters) the store is laid out nicely. Don't forget to donate and get a coupon. read more

Up until today, I would tell my friends how great Savers in Lakewood is regarding pricing. I normally shop there once per month. Today the pricing was insane and over the top. $30 for a jacket with stains on it. $15 dollars for a trinket, $5 dollars for artificial flowers that are from the dollar store. $30 for a mirror that should be $20. I'm no longer going there or sharing with my friends until they bring their prices back down to normal. Plus, regarding the different color tags that are on sale, what's the deal with them taking items marked with colored tags taken back to the storage room and then advertising a color that is no longer on the floor is on sale. This is fraudulent behavior. Seriously. The staff is five stars. Pricing? Huge rip off. Don't go there. read more

Putting this in here because a few weeks ago the building had leaking problems and a horrible smell. Apparently that smell is black mold. The drippings fell into a tupperware full of disgusting water. The employees didnt seem to care. I have no idea how you would still sell items in a store in a place like that. A lot of buildings in lakewood are very old, the mall is delapidated, the walgreens is unrenovatrd, but this isnt fit to be running the way it is. read more

This thrift store nonprofit allegedly is charging ridiculous prices on their so-called high end items. They are charging prices that are prices you pay in the store for things that they got donated. The guy Ed is an asshole very unfriendly, he's pricing knock offs items so ridiculous that it doesn't even make sense, truly I am telling people to stay away from this place. read more

They over price like crazy, why am I paying almost $20 for a USED sweater. Lots of the items are better to buy as new at like Marshall's. A jar or random jewlery is $100?? Which is insane because they get it for free. Finds aren't that great and the staff are very passive aggressive, I get it after a long day but I asked an employee for a ring and she took it to the front register and when I asked for it she just came to the self checkout and scanned it for me. 5/2/2025 Saw a post on social media that they had put out a stack of video games when I arrived all I saw was 2 good games and the rest of the games are trash. But then I noticed 3 bins hidden full of video games I ask the girl working that department if I can see and buy what's in the bins ? She claim she can't till whatever it's on the shelves sell first. I also noticed her calling someone in the radio when ever I look away. Then I walk over to Richard and ask him the same question he said they can't do that and then he said his the store manager. I knew he was lying because all the games where put out last night and I know that Richard n the chubby girl are working together either holding the bins for someone else or for then to keep and resell them n keep all the money. Savers should look into this because they are stealing from the company and who ever is inside doing this needs to be let go read more

This store is very clean and has a ton of items to look through. It does not smell at all. The prices are way too high for a thrift store! They wanted $15 for a used squishmallow, when you can get a new one at Marshalls or Tjmaxx for $16! You'd be better off buying new stuff on sale at discount stores compared to the sky high prices at this store. I drove far to check this place out to purchase something with a physical coupon I had after making a donation. They don't accept the paper coupon on the opening day. Any manager were not there honoring the coupon for customers. That tells you what you will be dealing with. Never coming here again. Also price is higher compared to other locations in OC and sales tax is higher as well so you are paying more. Parking is limited. You will be lucky to find one or park in other premise and walk. read more

Stopped by because I was in the area and was so surprised by the prices! Just because an items from Zara, h&m, Levi's etc doesn't mean it's worth 17.99+. I was lucky to find a pair of boots that were worth the price but everything else I left behind. Mixed emotions about the new Savers. I went here on a Sunday morning, right when they opened at 10am. Most of the stuff in there is fast fashion and some vintage that ranges from $4 - $15. The items that are of substance or name brand are marked WAY up. Expect bigger named brand items to range between $20 - $75. Yeah, marked that much up. One plus about the overpriced items is it makes it easy to decide what you want because some of it is so expensive. Let's just say it's easy to pass up these items. A big plus is they have a good amount of inventory. It took me 2 1/2 hours to go through the majority of the store which consists of clothing, shoes, home goods/furniture and accessories. Although one huge frustration was the way they hung their pants/jeans. They hang them sideways which makes it difficult to shop for many reasons. An even bigger negative is they have no fitting rooms which makes it challenging to figure out if you want to spend $15.99 on a pair of H&M jeans because you don't know how they're gonna fit...and it's challenging to find a mirror because all the mirrors are taken with people trying on clothes. On the flip side of that, they do offer an exchange (on clothing and shoes only), with tags attached up to 14 days from purchase if it doesn't work out. Lastly, I was surprised to see they had no cashiers. It's self service only and they do charge for bags so be sure to bring your reusable bags! Overall decent experience but not somewhere I would go out of my way to visit again. read more

I am an avid thrifter so I was excited to check out the new Savers. On the plus side, the store is very clean and well-organized. The household section is quite large. What I really liked is that the art is all displayed on long horizontal racks vs stacked large bins. It was much easier to see everything. Unfortunately the art was generally new, mass-produced stuff. But I have to agree with the other reviews. The prices were all over the place and skewed towards the high end. I found a nice piece of original art for $9.99, which I thought was reasonable. But I saw single decorative ceramic plates marked at $19.99, which is crazy! I really love this location but I have noticed that they are being shady. I drive from Arcadia to this location twice a week to shop for DVDs but I have noticed the employees re-label the tags for the color of the week. For example, the color is blue this week but they re-label it to orange and do a very poor job of doing so and they just put the orange label over the blue. They should be held accountable for that. How are you ever supposed to get anything half off?? Someone higher than management needs to be aware of this. read more

Whoever the pricers are here, need to be fired. There's no way I should see a purse here for $45 and when I search for it online, it's being sold for $16. A jacket I saw here was priced at $28 and when researched, I could get it new for $27. You guys get your merchandise for free but price higher than retail price and average resale price. I stopped by last week to see if their prices had improved since opening -- resounding no. 6.99 for a half-used candle from Target that still had its original price tag of $5. Garbage like that ALL over the store, and no employees out restocking the merchandise either... probably because the shelves are full of things that will never sell. Was a bit shocked at the prices on most of the items I was interested in, Definitely not living up to the name Savers! After a walk around looking and seeing these prices I ended up to the media section where I usually end up getting some CD's or DVD's when visiting other Savers, I found 4 CD's that I assumed were $1.99 like all the other locations. When I rang myself up at register it came to about $35, WTH! I then looked at the price stickers and one was $14.99 and the others were around $7.99!! Used CD's at those prices!! I kept the one that rang up at $1.99 and had the employee take off the others, he then informed me they have someone who prices the items up in the back who looks up values on the internet and prices the items closer to those sales rates. Unbelievable, might as well just get them on line and save the drive and time. Sad to see this Savers does this, I have not seen this at the other locations. I am an avid thrifter. I can't tell you how excited I was when I saw they were putting a Savers by my house. Months ago when the sign went up I was driving by & I yelled in excitement & scared the heck out of my kids in the car with me. I called my thrifting buddy & we were counting down the days! I finally got in there today & I was horrified by the prices! I always expect Savers to be a little more expensive than other thrift shops but I've always thought it was worth a little more b/c Savers is incredibly organized & well kept. This store took the pricing to whole other level of ridiculous! They had so many things priced way over what their original price even was. They had, ratty, thin, pilled shirts that I would hesitate to even donate for 6 & 7.99! They had shirts that looked like 5.99 Ross shirts for $15! I went through every section & all of it was so incredibly shocking. I did find a toy I think my kids would like & then I went to the register to find I had to ring myself up...& it kept telling me it charged my card, 3x but didn't complete the transaction. An employee had to come re do it all & charge me again. Now let's hope I don't have 4 charges. I understand technical difficulties happen but that was just the cherry on top. They charge soooo dang much for all these things that were donated to them the least they can do is have cashiers & pay them well. I can't even express how disappointed I am. read more

I had been here once before and was aware of their insane prices. They have Ross tops for 7.99 that only cost 5.99 at Ross. I went in anyway and actually found a new in package dremel tool for $2.99. Did not have a great impression of this place. Usually when I go to Savers I walk out getting one thing for the sake of charity and getting an item. However this time I left empty handed and disappointed. Since this location is next to a literal mall, I don't understand some of the pricing of items. Don't get me wrong the store is nice and clean and very organized, but what is the point of that if no one buys anything. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that it's their opening month and they're trying to make up for losses but you don't get people to return with inflated prices. I think workers and management there need to ask themselves when pricing things "would I really buy that for that price" and if there's any hesitation don't do it. The place is very organized and big with a selection of items but the prices are not thrift store prices. Everything is overpriced, mugs are like 6-7 dollars and purses 14 dollars not name brand, might as well buy them new.
