    $10.99 for SHEIN
    Sam D.

Good selection, ridiculous prices. I've been seeing a lot of SHEIN here lately, and while I understand they wouldn't turn down acceptable clothing donations, charging more than $2 for any of it is insanity. I found a plain SHEIN dress for $10.99 recently. A child probably made it for $0.10.

This Walmart Wonder Nation brand probably cost the same or less brand new in the store

I love coming here! This location is my favorite one but as of the past 6 months, who have you guy had in the back pricing this stuff???? And who is doing quality control. I used to find really quality items in here. I still do, don't get me wrong but the stuff they have been allowing on the floor and the prices they have been putting on some of this stuff is ridiculous. You've just got to do better. And Suddenly if it's a "Popular" name brand it's ridiculously priced... I just watch it sit in the store for months and months, especially the B grade designer bags. I still like this store and I will continue to shop here and donate here but, someone in the back needs to come back to earth with these prices. Staff is awesome otherwise.

Ask the Community - Savers Community Donation Center

    Do you buy used clothing?

No, savers does not buy anything....

    Are the dressing rooms open?

No, you can buy clothes, and try on your new clothes in the bathroom, cause it's your stuff, then you are there still if it doesn't fit. Otherwise, you have 14 days from date of purchase to exchange clothes and shoes, keep receipts and leave price… Read more

Before I moved to Kansas City, I had a plethora of thrift options, at our local DAV and other low-end spots in Springfield.

Even being aware of their leanings, I'm consistently reminded that I'm better off just throwing stuff away. Go to a thrift store in a poor part of town, skip the ReStore. I love the concept, but I must say that I had an unpleasant donation experience…read more I called the Restore donation coordinator, and confirmed that they would accept 16 of the doors I removed from the house I'm renovating. I followed up this conversation by sending a picture of the doors to the coordinator, who said they were interested in the doors. I was going to arrange for their free pickup, but it turns out this is quite inconvenient. They schedule based on your zip code, which dictates the day of pickup. Then, the pickup window is the entire day. So you have to be home and waiting for the pickup on a random weekday, the entire day. If you work, you just can't make this work. The lady told me that instead, you can drop off the doors at the donation center. Today, I borrowed a trailer, loaded up the doors, and took them to the store. At the store, the man told me at that he could not take my doors, without even looking at them. They don't want doors, they can't sell doors, and they definitely can't take as many doors as I brought with me. Not to mention, the man was standoffish and acted like my bringing in a donation was an inconvenience or something. This would be fine with me if I had not already been told they wanted them and to bring them in. So yeah, pretty hard to make a donation to this place. It was a waste of time this afternoon, and it's a shame these matching doors in decent condition now have to go to the dump.

Let's all be honest with ourselves: Red Racks is a terrible thrift store. Consistently dirty,…read morehigher prices than any other thrift in the city, poor selection of everything except clothes, and usually pretty bad customer service. There are some gems if you know how to look and hit on sale days, but don't expect awesome hauls here if you aren't ready to drop a couple hundred dollars. They've recently changed their dollar rack to be two dollars instead. Special shoutout to the "Vintage Shop." Anything that looks old, worn, and useless gets chucked over in that corner for a special 100-500% markup of the price that item would normally be. Half of the stuff in that section isn't even vintage. If every price in the store was cut in half, it might be worth it. I'm a huge thrifter and this is our least frequent thrifting stop, if that tells you anything.

I recently completed some community service hours at Red Racks, and the experience was extremely…read moredisappointing--especially because of one manager named David. This man should not be in any type of management position. Calling him unhelpful is honestly being generous. When I first arrived to sign in so they could log my hours, my file was missing. I told the woman who was supervising at the time, and she couldn't find it either, so she just scribbled her initials. I only worked two hours that day, but when I went back to get credit for them, David told me I'd have to talk to the person who signed me out. I described her to him, and he claimed he "couldn't recall" who I was talking about and said I'd need to track her down myself. I don't have a vehicle, so I can't just drive up there every day hoping to find her. I called again later and unfortunately got David a second time. I explained again that I needed my hours credited--hours I actually worked--and he still refused to help. Throughout my time volunteering there, none of the managers acted like leaders. They barely acknowledged me. They'd just tell me to straighten clothes or fix hangers. Since I've worked retail before, I asked for a rag to wipe down the shelves because they were filthy, and they didn't even seem to know where anything was. While I was there, I overheard multiple customers complaining--one about being charged for items they didn't buy, another about the prices being way too high for a thrift store. I agreed with them and made it clear I was just a volunteer. When I looked around myself, I was shocked at how overpriced everything was, especially considering the store gets all its merchandise donated for free and relies heavily on unpaid volunteers. If you're looking for a place to complete community service hours, I strongly recommend going somewhere else. And honestly, if you're just looking to shop at a thrift store, you might want to choose a different one too. I'm clearly not the only person who's had a bad experience here.
