    overpriced top

I found this top with the tag from ross still on, sold for $9 when it's worth less brand new??? this is not a thrift store if USED items cost more than if they were brand new.

$1 Dollar tree bottle selling for 5.99! Don't p*ss on my leg and tell me it's raining

All thrift stores are getting out of control, but savers is the worst of them. It's so close to me that I still go from time to time just to see if I can find something good, but I definitely won't be going back. Over and over I find things from the dollar tree that they're selling for 3.29 or even close to $4. If the item has new tags, they jack up the price for more than what it's worth. I hope they know how much money they're losing for refusing to price their items fairly. There's so many things that I would've bought and I didn't because they were overpriced. Don't donate to this location. They are a for profit corporation that spends no money on inventory and sells it for more than it's worth brand new. At this point, I won't go back there to shop, but I will go back to take pictures and let everyone know to not waste their money at this store. Ps. With the outrageous prices the thrift stores charged nowadays, you're better off going to an antique store. They have more curated pieces, vintage and durable stuff and most of it is in working condition or undamaged. I find myself going to antique stores more and more. Comparing to the prices that thrifts used to charge back in the day, I would say antique stores are slightly more expensive. But, the way the pricing is now, you would probably find much better pieces than the trash savers sells for equal pricing.

    Overpricing items.

Why would you over price things that are donated?? 2.49 for something hobby lobby was selling for 0.99 ??

That mark up though...you're killing me

Ahhh, when you walk in you're instantly greeted by the good vintage smells. You know, the wee bit musty smell that reminds you of your grandparents house or an attic. There's that slight hint of cigarette smoke from a party...or even from a life well-lived. ANYWAY this Savers spot is pretty spacious, cool and organized. Items are well organized by sizes, which helps when thrifting. I was on a mission to find household stuff for my plants, but found other things that I couldn't pass up. Employees here are very friendly and attentive. BUT certain things here were marked up more than what they should have been. (E.g. a 99 cent store pot for $1.99 was marked up to $4.99 and a $5 Target item was marked up to $6.99???!) I would peel off the sticker prices to make sure the sticker isn't hiding any cracks or damages on the product. You won't really notice this until you peel it off at home. PROS: self check outs, superb customer service CONS: Parking spots are limited

It's fun to look at dresses.

I shop here a few times a month, and trip out on all the flippers I see. This store is always poppin' and yet I still usually find items to take home with me. It's very common to hear newbies talking out loud about the deals they're scoring or even talking to a staff member about how much $ they're gonna make when they flip a certain item that Savers has priced low enough. I've been thrifting for 30 years and get lots of entertainment from shopping here and observing. Yes, prices keep going up, and flippers "ruin" the availability of things I have collected for ages, but that's all part of the experience. Also, Savers plays fantastic music to shop to. And they give you a 20% off coupon when you drop off donations.

They got too big for their bridges. Prices are too high, I switched back to Salvation Army and Goodwill.

    Ask the Community - Savers

Do you guys buy/trade things if people were to bring in a bag of items?

They do not buy or trade. They only take donations.

    Will savers open anytime soon?

I think this question is in regards to the pandemic? I think Savers in Riverside is open now. (9/2/20)

Where in the store do you bring your stuff to donate?

For the Riverside location, the donation area is around the corner from the front entrance.

The store is a good size and is divided up into different rooms with privately owned antiques and homemade works of art. They have everything from kitchen, bedroom and garden decor. Each special item is priced reasonably for its uniqueness and timeless style. The shop owner (I think) was at the register and so nice and answered all my questions. What I truly love about this place is the care they take in each transaction. Wrapping each item and placing them in a cute brown gift bag with black tissue paper. When I got home, I felt as though I was opening a gift. A special gift from me to me! All I can say is this place is a local gem and I hope the current pandemic doesn't get the best of them. I will be back again and again and again and again!

Parking is very difficult. The way the owner displays her items are beautiful but be prepared to overspend ($$$$$). I personally enjoy finding treasures for a reasonable price - even if it means going to a few other antique stores or thrift stores. Enjoy the hunt. Since the move, it feels like a totally different store. Sad to see what used to be a great store, turn into something for teens/instagram-hungry-folk to find "vintage/farmhouse" clothes. Needs more space for furniture & such, like what it was before.
