Well I had an interview with Charles yesterday at 1 pm for a Management position. This was after already having 2 interviews at the KC store. Brett greeted me at the front. He said Charles is running late. So, Brett interviewed me himself and kindly gave me a tour of the store. Then, he received a text saying Charles just couldn't make it. This is after I had cancelled an important Doctor's appointment that took me 6 months to get. There was no apoligy made at the time for wasting my valuable time. No phone call or email. I have 25 years of Retail Management experience. Possibly Charles is intimidated by this or the Company just doesn't hire anyone over 50. I love coming here! This location is my favorite one but as of the past 6 months, who have you guy had in the back pricing this stuff???? And who is doing quality control. I used to find really quality items in here. I still do, don't get me wrong but the stuff they have been allowing on the floor and the prices they have been putting on some of this stuff is ridiculous. You've just got to do better. Hands down my favorite Thrift store. The furniture section is GREAT! it might not be the biggest selection, but they always have good quality items at the best price points around. Lamps, rugs, and pictures are a STEAL!! They usually have a great selection of housewares and pans. Great prices in linens and sets. The staff are fun. Lots of young people that are obviously having a good time. They seem to dress up in kooky clothes a lot and are just fun to talk with. The selection of purses is *great! It may not always be super organized because they have a huge number of items in each section, but the atmosphere is so relaxing and there are so many nice things to go thru, I don't mind. If you're thriftin', this place is the place to go in my opinion. Some of the other area thrift stores can be a little worse for wear inside, but this one, anchored on a prime corner of Johnson County real estate, has a lot of good offerings + is good for Halloween ideas. Back in the day, when I had to wear more dress shirts for work, this was a good go to to snag some name brand clothes on a "just-out-of-college" budget. In high school, I worked at a nearby dry cleaners and you wouldn't believe how many people forget their clothes there. After a year or more, we'd be forced to donate to a spot like Savers. Translation: There is some good stuff to be found here. My latest pop-in was to buy a throwaway shirt for an upcoming marathon. You know those fall mornings when the temp will be in the 40s but then 60 quickly? I was able to find a midweight running sweatshirt for $10 and it was easy to track down. I think I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. It's a huge store overall, so it can take some navigating, but if you're looking for Halloween costumes, they've bunched everything right up at the front. read more

This savers store at 9551 W95th street in kc area was the worst ever that I been in and I have been to a lot of thrift stores over the years. The manager, Erin was extremely rude when I tried to purchase some items. Do not ever go to this Savers store unless you want to be treated rudely and disrespected. My grandson of 10 years could not believe how bad the manager acted. So sad that my grandson had to see this. I will never go back to the store to donate or purchase anything. Actually due to this horrible experience I will properly never go to any other Savers or donate. It's definitely one of the better thrift stores in the area, but it's honestly way overpriced. Their supposed "expert pricers" can't tell real vintage from SHEIN and it shows in how the clothes are priced. For so much of their stock coming in in the form of donations, they're asking way too much. The non-clothes items like dishes, mugs, decor, etc., are a bit more reasonable, but I'd recommend you check some local, non-chain places before you buy here. That being said, they do have an amazing selection that rotates out often. If you need something fast or you're looking for something a little more specific, this is probably the place for you. Things to keep in mind: - They no longer have dressing rooms. - They have basically no return policy other than doing exchanges on clothes with tags and original receipt. - It can get PRICY! The only big complaint I really have (other than the prices, obviously) is that the employees can sometimes be kind of rude. Honestly though, it's not a big deal. I have always loved Savers but my issue is that often you can buy brand new items for less at the store they came from. If you are hunting for premium brand at a lower cost then this is your place. If you are just buying Target brand items go elsewhere. My husband found six button up shirts (two of which are new and $100) for $11.99 each. The items here are clean and displayed well. I feel like most other items are ridiculously over priced. We were on the hunt for white coffee mugs to repurpose and they were $3.50, the same glasses are at Walmart for $1.15. Savers for sure needs to research better to more accurately price their items but they are still one of the best for clothing finds. I used to shop the Savers on 95th in Overland Park Ks frequently on Tuesdays , Senior Day. I hadn't been in a long time and went Tuesday, July 11. Not only have their prices increased dramatically ( way, way too much for used stuff), but they have gone to all self check- out. Ex. One of the items I wanted was a decorative bowl that had the price from Home Goods of $9.99 and Savers had marked it at $8.49, absolutely ridiculous! I told a young girl at the front that I never use self check out at any stores and would she check me out at one of the 2 registers that were regular employee run registers. She said oh we don't open those unless there's a very long line. I said well what about the senior discount, how do I get that? She said oh just scan all your things and then call us over. Well 2 of my things didn't have a bar code so had to call over immediately anyway and then have help scanning and discounting so it would have been faster for them to just have checked me out the regular way. I like the other 2 stores in the area much more. The prices here were so much higher. I bought some children's clothes at another savers and then came here to see the exact brands and sizes marked up much more. Dishes, linens, And toys too were noticeably higher. And there must not be a dress code for employees. One of them was wearing a crop top and an inch of stomach and 4 or 5 inches of their hairy back was showing. Every time I run a 5K, I get tips on how to stay warm enough on winter runs. Someone said, "You should get one of these coats, go check out Saver's in Overland Park." So after I got home from the run, I drove all the way to Saver's in Overland Park for a bubble coat. They had plenty of light weight quilted bubble coats for only $6.49!! I chose one that isn't bubbled, but light weight, warm, and thin and $6.49. I could've bought so much more. They are one of the nicest thrift stores around. I used to have a Saver's close by, but they closed.I miss them. Their selection is well organized, and easily arranged. Ofcourse Saver's is huge. I'll start going there every once in a while to keep an eye out for their seasonal items or what they have added. They had a display of new Halloween merchandise. It was in November so the prices which were already low, were discounted even further. I was pleasently pleased with my trip to Saver's and my new coat is perfect for running. read more

At the Leawood, KS location I think the prices are good for home goods and decor and the vast majority of the staff is extremely nice and helpful. The older guy that wears the cowboy hat taking donations outside has been rude and snarky with me the last few times for no reason when I have donated items. I think he hates his job. read more

Always clean, always room to move around, and the convenience of the location at 95th and Nall makes this a must-stop for us. There are always plenty of employees available, and I love the books and clothing here. Kids won't go anywhere else for thrifted clothes, and it's always in good condition and well-presented. The prices are fair, and they have everything under the Sun. Games usually have all their pieces, the large tubs of dishes are awesome for anyone starting out, and it's managed well. My favorite thrift store, hands down. Also: if you are donating and do not need a receipt, you can ask for one of their coupons instead; I believe they're for 20% off. If you can find what your looking for here you scored an amazing deal. A 6 person tent only missing stakes for $16, took that home. Food processor 12 cup capacity $8, mine. Everything is donated and for the most part second hand. It is a huge store with tons of sections, children, women's, men's, home, books and furniture. A really good place to say goodbye to stuff taking up space but still in good shape to throw away, donate it here, pull right up to the front and some one promptly comes to unload the goods. Great thrift store, clean and as with most thrift stores a huge collection of clothing, but thats not what I go for. as with most savers they have a small section of pc games right off to the side of the front of the store near the puzzles and games and magazines. almost all of them will be in cd jewl cases. rarely ever will you find them in the original box but it does happen. They have the usual random selection of figures as well. it varies all the time so best to keep checking when you can. Now what I come here for are the stuffed animals and toys. They have a quite large assortment of plush animals and stuff to sort through most of the time. some times the selection is slim and sometimes it's overflowing. like before check back often. They also have some furniture and chairs as well. Toys, well that varies allot as well since it's all what people donate but if you know what to look for you can get some good stuff for any gender. Beware though the prices seem to fluctuate wildly from bag to bag and from item to item and store to store. so what is cheap at one store might be 2 to 3x more expensive at another for the same basic thing. That's why I can't give it a full 5. The electronic section, if you can call it that isn't really much at all. but Sometimes you find something really great. You can get a savers card for discounts on Monday's but that only works on clothing and bath and other normal household stuff not for the stuff I get. They do however have a senior discount on Tuesday so that's good. Definitely worth checking out, you might find something great there and it's a great place to donate all your old stuff you don't want! read more

I totally dig Savers. Before I moved to Kansas City, I had a plethora of thrift options, at our local DAV and other low-end spots in Springfield. But since I got to *the city* a few years ago, it seems like nothing is just plain old Thrift. It's "Consignment" or "Vintage" or whatever else garners a higher ticket price. And then, I found Savers. I should say - I found out what Savers really was - because I was pretty sure it was some sort of variety story, in between a Dollar Tree and an Aldi. Nay, nay - I was mistaken. Savers is wall-to-wall thrift. Aisles and aisles of sweaters, tshirts, tanks, jeans, pants, shorts, capris - each with its own labeling, sorted by size and COLOR! Well, color me impressed. I've found everything from a little white halter top for a quarter, to beaded formals in the $20 range. Though they do have a mens section, it's not nearly as robust. It takes up a small fraction of the space; and I've never seen much in the way of shoes, either. I have seen some surprising gems, though, like a red (faux) leather golf bag; really cute home decor, baskets & vases; and a decent jewelry section, too! Definitely worth stopping by! read more
