Pictures here are the pasta carbonara without peas and orecchiette with sausage, which were $11 and $13 respectively. Also ordered an iced tea for $3. The orecchiette was a bit too soft for my taste and the sauce slightly watery so I'd recommend the carbonara Overall, this is a solid and cozy BYOB spot for outdoor dining in downtown Somerville. My friends and I had a miserable experience at Savor last weekend. The management is a nightmare and the food is not special, the ambiance is out dated and out of style. No wonder most of the restaurant was empty on a Saturday night. There are much better restaurants in Somerville, I would skip this one. The blonde manager had the audacity to come over to our table and complain about the few babies in the group. After giving us a kids menu and high chairs she said this is not a kid friendly restaurant. On our way out she felt it was appropriate to call our group obnoxious and say we should have dined at a pizza place instead. This is not the kind of business I would give my money to. read more

When our original plan for lunch at a different restaurant didn't work out (because of flooding issues), we walked around to see where else we could dine at. Not familiar with the area, we were surprised that most places didn't open until noon. Upon walking up to this restaurant's pretty yellow facade, we checked out their menu posted outside which served Italian & American cuisine. The items sounded good. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, service was outstanding, friendly and professional. For appetizer we ordered their Kobe Beef Meatballs (3 to an order) which is topped with one of the best ricotta we have ever tasted. Being a little picky whenever it comes to marinara sauce, it wasn't too tangy which is what I prefer. Here is what we ordered for our Entrees: - Chicken Francaise w/rice & vegetables - Chicken Breast w/Portobello mushrooms, sausage, rice & vegetables - Homemade Fusilli Bosco w/bacon, mushrooms in a light cream sauce My husband loved his pasta dish especially with the chopped bacon and he found the light cream sauce perfect and not too heavy. My son dived right into his chicken breast dish. The portobello mushrooms on top of the chicken breast were huge and succulent. I did enjoy my chicken Francaise but found the lemon sauce a little too tart. I read one reviewer complain about the loud pop music playing in the restaurant. The cod was very fresh and the lemon butter sauce was tasty, but the texture of the cod was odd. I suspect the cod was slightly undercooked. The goat cheese and roasted beets were ordinary, nothing exciting or special, no interesting spices, herbs or garnishes. I enjoyed the unsweetened iced tea. My favorite dish was the apple cheese cake. A very large portion, which I didn't finish. It had pieces of apple that resembled apple pie filling. They have THE BEST rigatoni vodka I've ever had. I usually ask for it with chicken and they do not skimp out on the chicken. I've also gotten the fettuccini bolognese as well as the chicken francese and they are both equally really good. I don't think there's a single thing on the menu that isn't good. The only thing I would say is if you get the mushroom ravioli, be aware the sauce is on the sweeter side. Also it's BYOB. read more

Last minute reservation made on Valentine's Day for 8:30. First time dining here and I was extremely pleased. Menu offered many great options. We asked servers for some suggestions and he suggested two that both my husband and I picked. One was zuppe di pesce and the lobster ravioli with shataki mushrooms. We had our sons rehearsal dinner party here. It was very important that everything be top notch for a variety of reasons. Throughout the process Lisa and Robert were professional amd accommodating. The day of the event went great and the food and service were superb! We hosted about 40 people in the main dining area. It could not have gone more how we had hoped. I want to say again how delicious the food was and how the owners and servers did a great job!! I highly recommend hosting a party here. Their food is amazing but the service was awful. We came here on a Tuesday night and it wasn't very crowded, we must have waited ten minutes after finishing dessert for the check to be given to us. Went for lunch here for the first time. The two of us split a salad with pear and feta that was good. For main course we had mushroom ravioli and salmon in a mustard cream sauce. The ravioli was quite good as was the salmon. Had desert and coffee. The espresso was actually hot . Desert was a solid cheesecake. The prices are reasonable. I gave 2 stars because my dining companion had the lobster ravioli special, and while she couldn't identify the sauce, she said it got better as she ate it and almost finished the entire dish. She had the French onion soup prior which she enjoyed also. I had the Caesar salad to start which was flavored as to be expected with fresh romaine but poor seemingly store bought croutons. Savour's portion size made up for what they lacked in flavor and presentation. Everything we were served was large enough for 3 people. I had the diver sea scallops served with rice and spinach covered in a "brown butter sauce" garnished with cherry tomatoes. The scallops weren't seared and the sauce was overwhelming and more reminiscent of a brown sauce from Chinese takeout. Fantastic! I'm extremely glad we tried this place out. It was quaint and cozy and our meals were amazing. My fiance had the crab cakes and I had the flat iron steak. Another waiter read the daily specials to a table but ours did not do the same. Ordered meatballs, gnocchi pesto and pasta with italian sausage. The menu says the pasta is homemade. The consistency and chewiness of the pasta was great. There was a bit too much sauce on the gnocchi. Even though the food was good, all the dishes were not hot, more lukewarm. This is a fairly new restaurant so I expected some kinks in the service but the food can not afford kinks. Unfortunately, there were many.. Upon arrival, we found out that it was a BYOB so we ran to the near by wine store and picked up a bottle then returned. The decor is set to be modern and upscale but it falls short. The paint trim is sloppy and the chairs and tables were scuffed. They did, however, have LCD fireplaces on the wall and some cool flame sculptures outside. They also had a few LCDs on the wall that were playing sports. It just didn't mesh with the rest of the environment. We were seated promptly as it wasn't busy and were given a basket of bread. It was stale and we heard a table behind us complain about it. Our waiter started reciting the specials but forgot them and opened his pad up to read them. He then proceeded to take our order without writing them down so I was a little worried.. I ordered a spinach salad with beets and asked for blue cheese instead of goat cheese. We also ordered an appetizer of artichoke franchise and then I ordered the bacon wrapped Cajun scallops in a honey mustard sauce. My companion ordered chicken franchise. The appetizer arrived in a timely manor but the waiter did not give us plates. We ate over the main appetizer plate. Unfortunately, the dish wasn't that great. The artichokes tasted like they were from a can and the sauce tasted too sour from too much lemon. I would say over all they were just ok. $8 for six. I had my scallops and salad as my main meal and we did not wait too long for dinner. My salad had much too much blue cheese on it and it was a low quality cheese. The beets tasted canned. My companion's chicken franchise was in the same sour lemon sauce but he really did not like the chicken. It tasted old and was rather dry. We skipped dessert. Finally, after getting the check, we waited a long time for him to pick it up even though he walked by at least 4 times without even looking. We had a coupon which I received in the mail for 18% off. After that was taken off, we gave a 20% tip so the total came to $50. Remember, that is for two appetizers, one salad and one entree. Overall, I think Savor tries to be a modern fine dining but they really fall short on food quality, service and decor. Even if the service and decor fell short, food just can not. My family took me here for Mother's Day dinner. It's a fabulous place! Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Our server, Stuart, helped make the night a success. We tried 3 appetizers- the garlic shrimp with garlic toast, Kobe meatballs and the ravioli special. All were delicious but the ravioli was our favorite. It was clearly freshly made pasta and was really flavorful. The salads were just the right size- we tried the Cesar, the Main Street and the Savor. My husband had the special soup, New England clam chowder. He enjoyed it very much. Our meals were beautifully presented. I had the special combo- striped sea bass, shrimp and a crab cake served with rice and vegetables. Delicious! Others had the shrimp scampi, the New York strip steak and the pork chop. My wife and I came here for our 1 year anniversary and it was a pleasurable experience. It has a cozy atmosphere and the waiters were attentive. It is BYO so bring your favorite beer or wine. For an app we ordered the Kobe beef meatballs, topped with ricotta which was delicious! (And I saw a few other people order it as well so it is definitely a hit) for our entrees, I ordered the rack of lamb, and my wife ordered the pork chop. Pork chop was a little tough, but it tasted great so we didn't send it back or anything. We were both satisfied with our meals and portion size. Price wise, not cheap, but not too expensive either. Oh my goodness! Despite the pandemic, this place knocks it out of the part. Limited menu for curbside pickup--the order was ready exactly on time. We had caprese for an appetizer--delicious stacks of fresh mozzarella and tomatoes with basil. The tomatoes were actually pretty good for this time of year. For dinner we had entrees of wild mushroom ravioli and fettuccini bolognese. The home made pasta is so good. The sauces are so good. This is as good as dining gets during the quarantine.
