I hate leaving bad reviews, especially because my review is only based on the masseuse/massage I received, and there are many masseuses here, so take what I say with a grain of salt. It was super easy to book an appointment immediately, and the place had easy parking and was also really nice and peaceful inside, all positive. They had water/tea in the waiting area which was also really nice. Prices are more than a normal Thai massage, but hey it's the bay area, so it's not surprising. I decided to get a deep tissue massage since I had slept weirdly and had developed a spasm in my neck in addition to my chronic back pain, so I figured a deep tissue massage would better address my issues. Perhaps that was my problem and a traditional Thai massage would have been better at a Thai massage place (shocking logic), so if you decide to come, perhaps choose a traditional massage (there goes some of my asian self-blame). My massage felt... frantic. I get a LOT of massages, so I have a big variety to compare with. Her movements were jarring, asymmetric, and it felt that her knowledge of anatomy was limited. A lot of the massaging was performed in the middle of a muscle without extending along the length of it, not addressing an attachment or insertion, so it just felt like it wasn't doing much to relax the spasm or other areas of tightness. There was some serious massaging of bony areas (I thought my transverse processes were going to be fractured). I felt more stressed than relaxed, with bracing before each touch (and yes I have had plenty of deep tissue massages and love a strong pressure). I sweated like I was in fight or flight mode and wanted to end my massage early. This NEVER happens. At a certain point, I fantasized that perhaps this was what it felt like to be tortured without knowing what type of pain was coming next (OK maybe I listen to too much true crime podcasts). Also, I marked on the paper that I did not want my calves massaged, and of course, my calves were massaged. Either way, my masseuse was super sweet, but I hated my massage. I have no doubt there may be other fantastic masseuses there, and that an actual traditional Thai massage may be much better. read more

The Walk way is unassuming and quite small, but once you get past that you will see traditional wooden rooms / structures where the massages occur. This last time was a little weird, was told there were no female masseuses and that I would have a male masseuse (which was fine) but as I was walking back to to the table I noticed there werent to many clients and many masseuses were available (male/female). Thought it was strange, but didn't think much of it. Massage was decent, and left per usual. 2 weeks later the front desk person, who also was my masseuse found my Instagram. I found this really unprofessional since 1. I didn't share it with him or offer it 2. The only way he could have found it was via my phone number that was in their system. I have been to Thailand five or six times and get a massage almost every day when I'm there. but Sawadee is as good or better than any of them. of course, it's way cheaper in Thailand, but this is the Bay Area. inside is very soothing and calm. lots of dark wood and heavy curtains. I usually go for the 90-minute traditional massage and I highly recommend it. the last two times I've had Anna and I can't imagine switching although I will probably try one or two others who also get great reviews. A traditional Thai massage is not gentle so make sure you tell them if they are too strong. they do a lot of pressure points using their elbows and knees. and there is a lot of stretching at the end which feels great. I've only ever gotten the Thai Therapeutic Massage, and it's always heavenly, no matter who I get it from. The stretches at the end really finish in such a solid, refreshing way. I'm a believer in peppermint oil for pain relief, and the aromatic oils/lotions they use have peppermint and other good-for-you essential oils in them. I had a completely great experience. I scheduled my appointment online the night before. Plenty of time slots to choose from. You have the option to request a male or female massage therapist if you like. This was my first time visiting Sawadee. Parking was easy. I've had Thai massages before and I enjoy the pressure points and stretching. Before you enter, you get to indicate what strength you prefer (light, medium, strong) and your trouble spots. She did a great job focusing on my trigger points even telling me to take a deep breath during the process. I felt great in the end and would definitely come back (those "knots" need a lot of work!). I had one of the closest rooms to the front, which means I could hear other patrons entering. However, it wasn't too distracting plus my room was the closest to the water fountain so the trickling water was nice to hear. There's also a basket for all your belongings inside your room. Check-in is easy and I like the laminated sheets for writing what my "problem areas" are and other details to make the massage more tailored to me. I've been seen by Yui, Nancy, and Nina for a variety of services, and each one has been great. I typically go for traditional thai, but will sometimes do thai therapeutic or hot stone. This was my first experience of a traditional thai massage. It was really good. Combination of soothing with healing/restructuring helping me release tension I carry mostly in neck and shoulders. At some point the therapist noticed I wasn't relaxed all the way and helped me to breathe at which point the massage went better and I relaxed more. I hadn't had much human touch during COVID so this felt extra good for me and my body. I felt very safe and confident in the therapists hands/feet. When she stood on my back it felt very therapeutic. It was also a great deal just $100 for what was scheduled as an hour and half but turned to be near two hours. Would love to come back partially because I'm curious to see how my body will respond to the same style of massage to see what kind of progress I make. I left feeling refreshed and renewed. I went in for an Aroma massage. My therapist Dang Parita really focussed on my problem areas. Did an excellent job. Last time I came in, another therapist(forgot name) had stretched and cracked my neck. That felt so good. Didn't have it this time. Maybe every therapist has their own touch. But that doesn't stop me from coming back for another massage soon. Had a payment issue were I was charged twice for the tip. When brought to their notice a couple of days later, they quickly resolved the miscommunication and returned the extra amount. Really appreciate their professionalism and honesty. It's like I paid someone to hurt me more than ease my body aches. My back and neck is so sore and stiff that I have to take Advil when I got home. I feel like I was reborn after my appointment with Beebee. I made the appointment a day in advance. I had a 60 minute traditional Thai massage with a 30 minute foot reflexology add on. OHMAHGAWD. I've gotten massages for years and Beebee's massage was everything I ever wanted from a massage. The location is next to Clocktower Coffee, Carls Jr, Dollar Tree and Srasa kitchen. Parking was reasonable for Sunday morning. You walk into the tiniest lobby ever. There is a small "form" to mark areas you want emphasis on or avoided. I needed shoulder work. Take off your shoes. Go to your makeshift room, change into a provided outfit, therapist arrives, etc. My experience had phenomenal, unique stretching that really got deep, deep, DEEP, into my muscles. I was elated through the entire massage because it was comprehensive and I truly felt relaxed. I have not felt so connected to my own body! Wtf! She even popped my back. All the popping was impressive. It is a little different because the therapist uses their limbs/body to manipulate your body, but whoa it was overall a wonderful experience. I asked for and paid extra for a deep tissue massage. It was one of the worst massages I have had. I would guess the woman masseuse did not have any real training because it was more of an abrasive skin run than a massage. She did not interact with my muscles. She did not follow my muscles along to help relax them. She gave a very light massage even though I had picked "hard" on the card at the beginning and it was a deep tissue massage. Others I was with said their tables heated up but mine did not. She used her elbows a lot but not in a way to dig into the muscles but more to jab at me. It was painful on my skin. I have had at least 50 massages in my life and never had one this bad that cost this much. I would have expected someone to know how to reach different muscle groups and know where to press to get them to relax but she did not appear to know how. If I am just wanting a skin rub I can go somewhere like June's for $30 instead of spending over $100. I was extremely disappointed. read more

Had a massage yesterday by Nancy and she is amazing! As a nurse and athlete, my back and shoulders take a beating. I've started to get monthly deep tissue massages to help loosen up the tightness in my back and have tried several places around Mountain View. So happy I found Nancy at Sawadee! After her massage, I actually felt a slight soreness in my back and shoulder muscles which means she did her job! Nancy was my masseuse and she's wonderful. She didnt talk much and almost didnt ask me anything during 90 mins. She only focused on spending precious time on doing her job, and only asked when I seemed to get hurt, or talked to her. She moved almost every part of my body by herself (unless where it's sensitive then she would ask me, and I never had to expose my top and I was always wearing my underwear). I was almost asleep the entire time and could feel the benefits of her massage immediately. She massaged from top of the head to the toe except sensitive parts. Minus 2 stars because the receptionist wasnt nice and the facility is not great for such a price (130 before discount and not include tip). She became unfriendly after I asked about the Yelp discount and wanted to pay with credit card. No sympathy when I said it was my first time there, my first massage, or no response after my concern about wearing mask for the workers. Oh and I forgot my phone there because Nancy put it in a basket where I supposed to put my accessories and clothes, but the receptionist told me to put my stuffs under a chair... I came back to ask for it and they told me to go in alone to look for it myself... when I left I said thank you and bye and she just said "welcome" without even looking at me. Overall she was just rude. I wasn't in a room just a space seperated by curtains and I could hear noises of next tables beside the music. There were only a basket, a chair and the massage table fit in that space. There was no smell of candle or infuse... just a bit of lysol smell. I felt quite concerned for myself and the workers there because they didnt wear masks. If you decide to try this place, please ask for them to wear mask to keep them and yourself safe. Also the massage was Aroma but I really dont know what they used... seem just like coconut oil mostly... I tried the outdoor tent option today, and had a great massage. The staff is great - Beebee is precise with her deep tissue work. The tent is located in the parking lot inside the plaza, and is partially shaded under a tree. It's located near a path where not too many people would walk by. There is a small amount of airflow (even though it's a windy day), but the temperature is perfect. The place is very clean. There are regular parking lot cars/truck/ street noises in the background, but I had no issue relaxing there. Great option if you are not ready for indoor yet. Will come back again. read more
