Finding breakfast is a challenge soooo Coras Isle was open so we went. You order then sit at a table and they bring it out when its ready. Primary it is what it is, a deli. I had a tuna melt and mu husband had a Cuban. Sandwiches were GOOD and surprisingly the coffee was really good also. If you love a good sandwich that is reasonably priced this is your place. Came here for a little lunch. Ordered some sandwiches and a salad to go. Workers were very nice! Inside is kinda cute with funny photos of a dog. A decent amount of sandwiches to choose from. We ordered two and they were good! I wish they had a little bit more flavor but the toasted bread with melted cheese was good. We ordered a turkey avacado and turkey Brie. So this is a SUPER cute sandwich shop that I wish we would have found earlier in our week long vacation. The menu is adorable and hilarious and the decor is so fun. And the food was VERY GOOD! My husband and I both got the Roast Beast (which kinda bummed me out later as I wish we would have gotten different things so we could try more!) That onion jam and horseradish mayo were phenomenal. One friend got the Club and another friend got a Rueben on French bread. The corned beef on the Rueben was a little stringy but otherwise, everything else was great. I could see myself coming here and trying every single one of these sandwiches. I hope we're able to come back! Ps. This was about the only restaurant that we went to on the island where the employees were wearing masks which made me feel much more comfortable. We were looking for something quick and easy and we weren't disappointed. The bread was crunchy and the cheese flavorful. They have a good selection of fresh made sandwiches made with deli meats, cheeses and spreads. (Would have given 5 stars for fresher cuts of meat instead of deli and more originality). The Cuban was tasty but not quite a FL Cuban and needed better pork instead of a deli pork. The Turkey Brie and strawberry was quite good, but would have preferred fresh cut of brie cheese and homemade strawberry sauce instead of jam. The cheese was a bit soupy and the meat slid right off when taking a bite. The prices are fair, averaging $7-10 bucks a sandwich. Served with a pickle and chips are an additional charge. An absolute must when visiting topsail island, Cora's deli gives off a fun family summer beach trip vibe the service is great; always greeted with warm and smiling faces. Over this past year, I've been able to try almost all of Cora's sandwiches and food they offer and overall they get a 9/10 you can tell that all the sandwiches are made to order and you can taste the freshness in their ingredients. Now all of the sandwiches are great but there are two that are top of the list for me and I highly recommend them. One: The Turkey brie & strawberry, the flavors just explode in your mouth I would describe it as the scene in ratatouille where Remi shares the grape and cheese with his brother. Overall amazing. My second favorite: is 3 Lil' pigs, the sauce is amazing it has a little kick of spice and the flavor is fantastic and it pairs perfectly with all the meat on there. read more

My wife and I stopped there for lunch while on vacation. I had the Reuben, it was pretty good. It came with Marble rye bread and would have preferred regular rye bread. My wife had the Shrimp salad. The salad itself was fresh and very good but the Shrimp salad on top didn't have much flavor. There are some really neat posters around the room. read more

It makes me sad to give Cora's just two stars. My previous review, written over two years ago, was an enthusiastic five stars, but it seems along with their dreary new location, the food has taken a nose dive as well. This used to be our favorite sandwich place by far, and I so looked forward to getting the turkey, Brie and strawberry sandwich and would rave to anyone willing to listen about it. Unfortunately, it's pretty awful now, as are most of their offerings. Not only has the quality of the cold cuts diminished, but they're slicing the meats way too thickly, an unpardonable sin, and they seem to have that slimy, prepackaged look and taste to them. Not saying that's what it is, just saying that's what it looks like. We've been back three times in the last six months, each time we were disappointed but we kept trying hoping it was just an off day. Well, three strikes and you're out. From now on, we will either bring along our own food or have lunch across the street. read more

A real Deli where sandwiches are the spotlight, and are made the way sandwiches should be: delicious bread, just the right amount of mayo, mustard, or whatever your choice, a load of meat and cheese, with toppings that add to the taste but don't take over. The selection and creativity of their sandwiches is impressive, and I wish I lived here so I could try a different one every day. They also have four salad choices for those who want a lighter fare. Simple bagged potato chips as a side - but the unique ones not boring Lays. Canned cold Coke products! And only $1 for a bottle of water. Huge portion of meat. It was free of fat; lean, quality, meat with great flavor. Bread was soft and had the proper bread to meat ratio. No onion rolls. My wife had a Corned Beef sandwich on rye. The meat description above certainly applied to the corned beef as well. The bread was soft, though a bit thick for a sandwich. To say this place is unassuming from the street is like saying the President has a fondness for Tweeting. But based on the Yelp reviews we went in anyway. Glad we did. This is a small stand alone building but with more than adequate parking. But as this is a beach community, many walk up or ride their bikes. The place is spotless and based on the posters hanging on the wall, the owner has a great sense of humor. (Cora is a pet.) There is inside and outside seating. A wide selection of 20 sandwiches, 7 wraps, 4 salads, and a kids menu. All sauces, soups, and salads are made fresh daily. The breads and buns are made locally and the Po' Boy bread is fantastic. All the wraps are lightly grilled. Large is the operative word for the sandwiches. A selection of Utz chips are available as are cold water and other sodas and fruit drinks. Ordering is done at the counter and your food is brought to your table. Considering we were a party of 6, the wait was reasonable for made to order items. I had the Cajun seasoned shrimp and andouille sausage fully dressed Po' Boy. Excellent. A few words of caution: the mildly spiced shrimp will react with any degree of sun burned lips. Enough said but it was worth the pain. The bloodied Werewolf wrap is made from succulent "werewolf", or as we know it, turkey breast. The incredible adds were pistachios, cranberries, and house made strawberry jam. I had to steal a taste to believe the jam's impact on the combination. Visionary. Then there was the Cuban which would make Fidel smile. Likewise the Reuban; excellent. Do yourself a favor when in Surf City if Topsail Beach. Eat here! read more

I asked about the Bread and they admitted it was French bread not traditional Cuban bread which is no surprise since tTamia Florida is s long way away from here. I tried the cora cristo sandwich and wifey had Cuban breakfast sandwich they also have zapp's chips. The Cora Cristo was amazing. It is on the breakfast menu. The Cuban breakfast wrap was great but pales in comparison. Staff was shorthand at the end of the season but they pulled trough with fling colors even though the had done double their normal breakfast volume. Blueberry tea was a great find I recommend it. Welcome to Sandwich Nirvana, as the sign indoors says. All the ingredients are carefully culled, top notch meats, flavorful cheeses, well seasoned sauces, hefty breads. They have a great variety of sandwiches from inventive to classic. Canned drinks, bagged chips on the side.
