Another regional company, which I had called first, recommended that I have them out for a $195 visit and enroll in a $109-per-month follow-up service. Part of the service included controlling for ticks in our yard, even though we were certain we picked up the ticks during the previous weekend's travels. The person on the phone gave no answers at all about the ticks, whether they could lead to an infestation, etc. After we texted Jesse a picture of the ticks, he identified them and said tick infestations are rare, we should wash our sheets in hot water and dry them on high heat, vacuum thoroughly, check with a doctor to see if there are any health concerns, and call him if we were still seeing ticks in a few weeks. I also mentioned our having seen a few cockroaches around the house. He gave similar advice: it's late summer; if you're not seeing more than a few, don't worry; and call back if you start seeing more. He even gave advice about duct-taping over the flashing in our vents if they had pulled away from the wood. I think the two negative reviews represent folks who misinterpreted his bluntness as a bad attitude. I found him to be straight to the point, knowledgeable, and honest even against his self-interest. So a long story short: I was prepared to spend money on two different; Jesse talked me out of it and instead gave me helpful free advice. This may have cost him some business today, but we now know whom to call if we have any bug problems in the future.

To elaborate: My house had a pretty bad flea problem. This company came and treated with professional-grade flea bombs, saying this would "solve the problem." More than a month later, the fleas remained. When I tried to have Kil-Mor come for follow-up treatments, they were hard to get a hold of. When they did come to the house, the technician couldn't answer my questions. Once, a technician came to the house and said he would need to spray. He then told me he would need to do an additional bug bomb, but didn't tell me I would need to leave the house. Right before he was about to perform the procedure, he said: "you need to leave the house for at least an hour right now." Seems like information you'd need to know more than 30 seconds beforehand! I so wished my landlord had used another company, and I suggest you shop around before committing to this group.

The UWBR team initially installed traps near the critter entry points. After a couple of days of no traps triggered, then they proceeded to cover them with colored metal flashing which matched my home's color (blends perfectly) they also found other entry points that I would not have noticed or dared to reach and sealed as well.
