Fun and convenient location downtown. A bit dive-y, but that's not a bad thing...just know what kind of atmosphere you're getting when you come here. Also? They don't have a huge selection of beer/drinks, but what they do have available is basic and convenient enough. Enjoyed the bar area, though could have done without the bees constantly hovering around me. My cousin and I probably should have re-seated ourselves next to the fireplaces - away from the bar. No idea if it would have made a difference though. The place is packed at certain times, but my cousin and I managed to hit this place up recently around 6:30 or 7pm on a Friday night. A couple people playing ski ball or whatever, but ultimately not too many people around. TL;DR Fun place for a random beer and a little beer pong or ski ball. Personally, wouldn't want to be there when it's packed. It is convenient and chill though, and I'd visit again.

I've been to Sawyers a handful of times and it's a good time overall. My one complaint (and it's a big one) is the music. The dj plays the same songs every time and it's not really a good mix. If they cared more about the music and played different music than the same playlist over and over it would be THAT much better. Overall it's a really neat, popular spot. I prefer Knock (which everyone should check out) over this place any day, but still a good spot.

Came on a Saturday night and this place was packed! DJ played a ton of 2000's hits and all the throwbacks were pretty fun. One star taken away for pricey drinks -- a water plus vodka cranberry was $7, and a shot of Patrón was $9. Another star taken away because there were only a few bathrooms for everybody there. Still, the vibe was great and definitely a fun place to close out the night!

Great outdoor area with games, cabana seating areas, fire pits and outdoor bar.

It's a nice spot, with a good selection and atmosphere, but everything here is overpriced. I'd recommend some of the other bars in town.

So when we walked in, I didn't even notice the outdoor seating area on the other side of the building.

I've…read morebeen there a bunch of times now, most recently for Highly Suspect and Dead Poet Society, and every time I leave thinking the same thing: this place just gets it. First of all, the ticket prices are INSANELY reasonable. We paid around $38 for a sold out Highly Suspect show, which feels almost fake in 2026 concert economy. You're seeing nationally touring bands from just a few feet away without needing to sell a kidney for nosebleed seats. The vibe is low key, relaxed, and focused on the music. No weird pretentious atmosphere. No bad sightlines. Pretty much everywhere you stand gives you a solid view of the stage, and the acoustics are genuinely good. It feels intimate. There are multiple bars, a small food menu, pool tables, seating areas, recliners, and one of my favorite parts the openair patio area outside. You can sit outside by the fireplaces, still hear the music, and watch the performance on TVs if you need a breather from the crowd. Such a smart setup. The venue itself feels clean and well maintained, and there's plenty of parking, which is another thing that shouldn't feel rare at a concert venue but somehow does. My only complaint from this last show was entry. Doors were listed at 7 and the line was wrapped around the building and through the parking lot by the time we got there around 7:15. It took until almost 8 PM to actually get inside, so security/check-in definitely moved slower than expected for a sold out show. That said? I'll absolutely keep going back. Cheap tickets, great sound, close to the stage, easy parking, and a true rock venue atmosphere without all the nonsense. XL Live is one of those places that reminds you concerts are supposed to feel FUN.

The cocktails alone are worth the visit. The bartenders really know their craft, and the alcohol selection, including local beers, is solid. My only real issue is brunch. Every time I've visited after 12 p.m. (brunch is served until 2 p.m.), there's been a problem--either they're no longer taking food orders, the kitchen is backed up with a 45-minute wait, or they've simply run out of food. It comes off unprofessional and could definitely be handled better. I've noticed this becoming a growing trend during brunch service in general, and while some people suggest arriving as early as 10 a.m. for the best experience, consistency matters. If you're offering brunch, you should be properly staffed and prepared to serve guests throughout the full service window. Period. It's especially frustrating when you've traveled specifically to experience their culinary offerings and hit a wall like that. Overall, if you're looking for a spot that feels like a New York-style dive bar with elevated drinks and solid food--if you catch it at the right time--this place delivers. Just plan strategically if brunch is your goal.
