Fun and convenient location downtown. A bit dive-y, but that's not a bad thing...just know what kind of atmosphere you're getting when you come here. Also? They don't have a huge selection of beer/drinks, but what they do have available is basic and convenient enough. Enjoyed the bar area, though could have done without the bees constantly hovering around me. My cousin and I probably should have re-seated ourselves next to the fireplaces - away from the bar. No idea if it would have made a difference though. The place is packed at certain times, but my cousin and I managed to hit this place up recently around 6:30 or 7pm on a Friday night. A couple people playing ski ball or whatever, but ultimately not too many people around. TL;DR Fun place for a random beer and a little beer pong or ski ball. Personally, wouldn't want to be there when it's packed. It is convenient and chill though, and I'd visit again.

I've been to Sawyers a handful of times and it's a good time overall. My one complaint (and it's a big one) is the music. The dj plays the same songs every time and it's not really a good mix. If they cared more about the music and played different music than the same playlist over and over it would be THAT much better. Overall it's a really neat, popular spot. I prefer Knock (which everyone should check out) over this place any day, but still a good spot.

Came on a Saturday night and this place was packed! DJ played a ton of 2000's hits and all the throwbacks were pretty fun. One star taken away for pricey drinks -- a water plus vodka cranberry was $7, and a shot of Patrón was $9. Another star taken away because there were only a few bathrooms for everybody there. Still, the vibe was great and definitely a fun place to close out the night!

Great outdoor area with games, cabana seating areas, fire pits and outdoor bar.

Probably the best place that Harrisburg has to offer! Weekends the place gets pretty packed and has a decently young crowd

I'd give zero stars if I could. Security was so rude that we decided not to even go in. Same with all of their other bars.

So when we walked in, I didn't even notice the outdoor seating area on the other side of the building.

This place was fantastic, the kind of spot you're genuinely glad you stumbled into. The atmosphere had that perfect mix of cool and comfortable. I grabbed a beer, Stacy's Mom, and I'd order it again without thinking twice. My wife went for the Self‑Loathing Burger, which lived up to the hype. My daughter ordered the Mother‑Clucker (pictured), and after she gave me a bite, I immediately regretted not getting my own. I ended up with the Pittsburgher (also pictured), and it was outstanding, one of those sandwiches you keep thinking about afterward. Between the vibe and the food, it honestly felt like a little slice of heaven. Highly recommend stopping in for dinner.

The ambience didn't seem much like a speakeasy. It was more like a regular bar/restaurant. For lunch, I requested fish tacos and sweet potato fries. As an appetizer, we shared some nachos, which had a very tasty cheese sauce on them. A while later, the food was delivered. Everyone enjoyed their meals. My fish tacos each had a large piece of fish in them. The fish was seasoned and cooked perfectly, was flaky, and delicious. My sweet potato fries were a little overcooked, but still pretty good. Highly recommend that dish. My daughter's soup of the day (chicken & rice) missed the mark. But her club sandwich was the size of her head! If we're in Harrisburg, we'll visit again. Great meal!

The reason I haven't been going for the past three years is that the last time we ordered a Reuben, it was the most disgusting sandwich I'd ever received. The meat tasted terrible, and the color was "off." The time before that the Blarney bread was undercooked and had so much mayonnaise on it that it was inedible. Two weeks ago, it was undercooked and cold in the middle. The more well-done pieces I was able to eat, but the little pieces I could not. The following week, we decided to try the newly opened section on the corner inside the old Arooga's. Two bartenders working, the bar was not that busy but one of the bartenders closest to us didn't even acknowledge or let us know that she'd be right with us. It took the other very attentive and excellent bartender at the other end of the bar to notice my eyes looking around for some help when she came over to take care of us. She was great! The petite blonde was absolutely the worst and I wish I knew her name so I could call her out in this review. I used to love this place and my previous review is five stars. It's definitely not the same as it was before so I'm not sure we will be visiting this establishment again.

The first time we went in July of 2025, the hours were posted wrong online & so we showed up a few hrs early before their actually open time . A bartender arrived to set up the bar & was so friendly & accommodating to us. She offered to get us a canned drink while she was setting up so at least we had something to drink while waiting. Once she opened, she made us great mint mojitos! My friend & I returned this past July of 2026 & our amazing bartender Kelly was still there & remembered us! She even hooked me up with a complimentary jelly shot for my birthday. There was also a very nice male bartender there but I did not get his name. They had added a lot more seating like Adirondack chairs, couches and fire pits outside. They had a food truck there also which was a nice addition so when our other friend arrived the 3 of us nibbled on chicken potstickers, fries, a hotdog with chili and jalapeño poppers. Despite it being a hot day, they had a huge fan at the bar that makes it more comfortable, a mister in the bar area and you get a great natural breeze off the river anywhere else you're sitting besides the bar so this helped immensely. They had live music on the little stage by the couches so this was the icing on the cake! Luke Miller was great and unfortunately we had to leave before the 2nd guy performed. The bartender was smooth, quick, and knew exactly what he was doing, which always elevates the experience. Big bonus: they had seltzers on draft, which was a nice surprise and perfect for a day like today.
