Saxbys mostly focuses on student run cafes, and this is one of their few locations not located inside a campus building. As someone whose college days are far behind them, I'm happy they have this location. I'm a big fan of their grilled cheese menu and their rotating variety of featured and seasonal drinks. And their Daily Grind smoothie has been a favorite of mine for years. I tried the Ube Latte, a current seasonal item, on my most recent visit and it was delicious. I'll definitely be ordering it as much as I can before it leaves the menu. The employees are friendly, and the service is usually pretty quick. There's an ample amount of seating, both inside and outside, but it does get busy at peak times and students often camp out at tables with their laptops for extended periods of time, so be prepared to possibly have to take your order to go. While the restaurant is generally pretty clean and well-maintained, the bathrooms (which you need to request a code to get into) could really use a deep clean. read more

My 16oz (medium) cold brew with splash of half-n-half and sugar-free vanilla syrup was DELICIOUS! It was perfectly refreshing on a H O T 90+ degree day, perfect ratio of ice to coffee to creamer to sugar-free syrup. Definitely better than the Starbucks or Dunkin I would get. The baristas were SUPER nice, friendly. My clumsy self spilt my first cold brew order everywhere (UGH, BIG SAD) and they kindly made me a new one to match my current order - for free. Super quick,affordable,comfortable and quality coffee chain spot! I went here per a recommendation from a friend for their cold brew, and boy, it didn't disappoint! It was so good that I came back the next day to get another! The regular cold brew (only $3 for a small) is extremely smooth, I must say one of the best cold brews offered by any chain. It somehow does not posses any of that sharp, acidic aftertaste you often get from cold brew- it is truly so smooth and almost creamy even when it is black. The salted caramel cold brew literally tasted like a latte, so somehow when mixed with cream/ flavor this cold brew tastes of espresso , but has that extra caffeine kick! Both of these drinks were absolutely delightful.You definitely have to try the cold brew! As far as this specific location- the baristas were so delightful and helpful. The service was extremely quick. I will say the first time I was there, it was a little bit messy, but could probably be attributed to the busy hour. There are plenty of seats - and even outdoor seating, but no parking, so I would walk or park (only for quick run-ins) at 7-11 across the street. They made the most FLAVORLESS, WORST TASTING smoothie I've honestly ever had in my life. It taste like someone ate a strawberry then coughed into a cup of water. With maybe a paper-thin slice of banana. I also ordered a toast with peanut butter 30 mins ago, and am still waiting on it. Don't come here expecting something good just because the coffee shop look. This place is run by and for college students. Perfect place to meet up with a group or do homework. I would spend hours here my senior year at Drexel just doing research. There's great music, soft lighting and plenty of outlets. Sometimes is hard to find a seat and sometimes the WiFi is slow but it's one of the greatest study places on campus. Allergy season sucks, right? What does this have to do with my coffee/breakfast sandwich order? Well, while waiting for my food, I couldn't help but notice an employee standing behind the counter. And for a total of about 4.5 minutes, I watched her rub her eyes. Like finger deep into her eye goop over, and over, and over again. I couldn't help but stare, and think, why does she have to do this in front of everyone, or right over the fruit to make my smoothie with, or next to the toaster that would toast my bagel, instead of going in the back and handling her business? And yes, allergies or getting something in our eye, happens to the best of us. But the clincher is this. In between all of this eye digging, she proceeded to go to the touchscreen register, and start ringing someone up, wiping that eye goop all over that screen for the next person to rub on. AND THEN, a customer had an issue with her sandwich, something like, it needed to be reheated or something, so the employee reached out with these unwashed fingers, and grabbed her sandwich and started handling it. I was just disgusted watching this all happen. Have these people been taught any food industry/sanitary standards? Luckily, I watched another girl make my sandwich, and used this to justify eating my breakfast since i was starving. When i got up to leave, the same girl was still standing in the dead center of the service counter, now stuffing food in her mouth with one hand, playing on her cellphone with the other. Am i the only one who doesn't want to eat here ever again after seeing this? This is not my go-to place for coffee. For some reason I don't enjoy the flavor of the coffee. It tastes quite bitter to me, but they do make an amazing chai latte! I'm a fan of 3 things here: the brownies, sausage egg and cheese on a croissant, and caramel macchiato. What I'm not a fan of is the speed of the service. Now, I get it; it's freshly made. And I guess if you're going to be there for a while, it's fine. But I also feel like they get overwhelmed too quickly which makes me wonder what the back-of-the-house operations are and whether they're efficient to be at this location. I have been to saxby's numerous times now and I keep coming back ! I'm surprised the rating is a 3 . I loooove the cold brew coffees , the milk and honey is my go to . For me it's just a tad too sweet , but I get it anyways because the honey flavor and cold brew go so well together . The chai is also pretty good here . It's too hot for lattes so I can't comment on that . I have had the roast beef sandwich twice and it is pretty good . The spicy mayo is the shining star as well as some good quality meat . Today I got the bagel breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon . I have to say this was my least favorite bagel I may have ever had . It was bread like in texture , dense , cakey , under-seasoned . It did not have the rewarding chew and crust of a boiled-first fresh baked bagel . The bacon was floppy and underdone . I would not order this again, I didn't even finish the other half . The cookies here are good , the pb cup is amazing . Also they have an app with a reward system that is pretty legit. I think it's 2$ for every 20$ you spend . There is a good amount of seating inside and it is right on the Drexel campus . Across from Starbucks and I think it is better quality drinks with fresh made food for competitive prices . Saxby's has great coffee and pretty good service. However, on the app I have been getting multiple charges, each $25, saying I have to pay their third-party company called "Level Up". They have now taken $75 out of my savings account. I had to disconnect my card from the app to not get charged any more money. Again, this money was not something I spent on at the store AT ALL. To me it was completely random and the app said nothing about these charges when I downloaded it. read more

The place was fairly packed; low ceilings made it quite noisy and I would be hesitant to study in the space, but rather keep it for social gatherings. My iced americano was good, nothing to write home about. The beans are well roasted, reminiscent of Starbucks. Amy's raspberry iced tea was similarly mundane, but fine for the price. Possibly the worst Latte I've ever attempted to consume. Instantly reminiscent of the cheap packet coffee you'll sometimes get in a hotel room. Tasted like old rancid beans and cardboard. Yuck! Came here in the afternoon to study and it was the perfect study spot! They had plenty of space either indoors or outdoors and everywhere was very new and clean. What a comprehensive latte selection, I had trouble deciding. I went with the Milky Way latte and will just have to come back for the other delicious options. First time at this Saxbys location. Service was great and the seating area is nice too, those were the high points. The cinnamon raisin bagel I received had NO FLAVOR what so ever except sugar. The bagel LOOKED fantastic, crispy with lots of raisins, but it really had zero flavor. It was so bland I thought something was wrong with me like I had a stroke that killed all my taste buds, but that wasn't the case. It was really weird eating this beautiful bagel that tasted like styrofoam. It simply had no flavor except sweetness. Also, and this is a huge peeve of mine, the latte I ordered was HOT AS HECK.
