Vegan Philly Steak
Katrina W.

Being plantbased can make it hard to find a Philly in Philly to try! That's only if you haven't stumbled upon Hip City Veg, though! They have an amazing vegan Philly along with vegan and plantbased sandwiches and eats for everyone! My friend had the smokehouse burger and we shared the shroom booms with green goddess sauce and the sweet potato fries - everything was amazing! The kale lemonade and drink selection are a perfect fit, also!

Well... the oyster cheese steak was so good there is none left for the picture.

The High City Philly cheese steak was a great sandwich. Juicy filling, flavorful with light bread. Tasty . Feel satisfied

Vegan chocolate chip

I had a catered meal from this place. Surprised this location wasn't on Yelp yet! Sliders were top notch- a variety of 4 different types of "burgers " and I am not sure what they were besides delicious! Two catering bowls of salad were included which looks like garden variety and corn chip salad . Sorry for forgetting the pics for salad and sliders- working on a friend's film for 11 hours. Big Serving spoons were provided too. Super awesome! Chocolate chip and chips hit the spot but the main entrees are what make this fast food vegan chain the quality brand that it is. Service is excellent as the female employee held the door open for me with all the stuff I had. She wanted to give me a big catering bag but they had none available. Luckily, I only had to carry the items one block.

This place is still the best! This location and the one by City Hall are quiet and have ample seating. Service is usually fast. Though the Smokehouse burger was my first love here, I've come to love their chicken nuggets too. I could happily give up chicken for these. I have tried store bought plant-based nuggets at home and they just don't taste the same; most have a weird sweetness to them. The sweet potato fries beat their regular fries hands down.

Udon Noodle

HipCityVeg offers an entirely vegan menu. After a long night touring Philadelphia and the UPenn campus, the fast casual restaurant was a solid stop for my healthy food craving. Per my friend's recommendation I ordered the Udon Noodle bowl while my friend ordered the Chipotle Fajita wrap. Although I am not vegan or vegetarian, I always enjoy eating (and judging) faux meats. The Udon noodle bowl came with fake chicken which tasted similar to the real thing. The bowl was a good mix of the fake chicken, peanuts, sprouts, scallions and the black bean dressing. We ate inside the restaurant which was clean and seemed pretty new. The service was quick and they seemed to do a lot of to-go orders as well.

This place was pretty decent . I had the Philly cheesesteak and two different salads . The salads are so big and so yummy . I wish the Philly cheesesteak bread was toasted but all and in it was delicious . It also was pretty quick when it came . And still nice and warm . I also got the brownie , it was extremely fudgy and needed a little salt but it was decent

First time visiting this establishment here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

It was my first time visiting this amazing vegan restaurant and the staff were amazing and nice. Visit this place when you go to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I ordered the Philadelphia cheesesteak of course, and my wife got the chicken, ranch wrap

Crispy Hipcity Ranch Sweet Potato Fries
Reginice C.

My order: Crispy HipCity Ranch (chick'n) $10 added Buffalo Sauce for $1, and sweet potato fries $5. $17; I brought my own water. Everything was yum! The sandwich is super similar to that of a chicken sandwich. It was very flavorful; I'm glad I added the buffalo sauce because I love a kick. It's a mild spice, so no worries. The ranch sauce that comes on it was the perfect pairing. Next time I'll pass on $5 fries. I believe an order of fries is enough for 2 people. The sandwich is filling enough. I love that the utensils and bags are compostable. I'd definitely come here for another one of the sandwiches.

I've heard so much about HipCityVeg and I'm glad I was able to finally check out their food. For those that do not know, everything here is Vegan!! The store is location right in the heart of University City by UPenn's campus and when I went in, it was packed with college students. As for the menu, I wanted to try as many things as I possibly could. So here's a list of the things that I've tried. Chicken nuggets Smokehouse Burger Vanilla milk shake For vegan/health conscience eaters out there I highly recommend. It so refreshing to be able to eat bomb vegan food with flavor. I would most certainly recommend the smokehouse burger, I truly could taste the different. 10/10! Happy eating

Crispy HipCity Ranch, Sweet Potato Fries, BFG
Angie L.

She never disappoints! Opted for the value meal ($17): a Crispy HipCity Ranch burger driven by an imperceptibly-non-chicken "chik'n" patty swathed in peppercorn ranch sauce, ever-reliable and ever-delicious Sweet Potato Fries paired with Sriracha Aioli, and a BFG green smoothie. SO good. Ordered via Snackpass (10% off for students, with 50%!! off your first order) and picked up in store. Gorgeous day so we ate at the tables set outside. Simple ordering process, with nice ambience both inside and outside of the restaurant. Other great picks include: the Banana Whip, any of their Milkshakes, the Nuggs.

Adri P.

After standing for nearly 5 minutes the person behind the register told us they were no longer taking orders due to short staffing. Not cool. Traveled to get here.

Tasty... less bread (or more "meat") and less ketchup please.

Good, but too salty Fried pickles: Good, but too salty Chicken & Andouille Gumbo: This was excellent. The braised chicken thighs were seasoned well and very tender. The pickled red onions really elevated this dish. 5/5 The grilled salmon had a great char and crunch. It was not dry nor over cooked. 5/5 The burger was delicious just as a burger should be and the famous duck fat fries were very crunchy. 5/5 for both Happy hour is really the time to go, but make sure they honor your reservation. The burger was perfectly smashed with those crispy edges, the cheese was melty, the caramelized onions were packed with flavor, and that soft, buttery milk bun tied everything together perfectly. Every bite was messy in the best way possible. The fries were just as impressive, they were hot, crispy, perfectly seasoned, and impossible to stop eating. We found ourselves reaching back into the basket over and over. What really stood out was the customer service. Every employee we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed happy we were there. It's refreshing to find a place where the food is outstanding and the service matches it. Then came the surprise of the day... the cinnamon roll. We bought one to take with us and didn't eat it until about an hour later. Somehow, it was still one of the freshest, gooey-est cinnamon rolls we've ever had. Every single bite tasted like the soft, warm center of a cinnamon roll. Honestly... it was even better than Cinnabon. That's not something I say lightly! If you're in Philadelphia, HUDA is absolutely worth the stop. They overheard us talking about how The Trough would be nice (feeds 8 for $300, but was more than enough for us 9), and said if we wanted that they could get it started as the table was prepared. We said yes, and were sat a few minutes later with drinks in hand. Jenna (Gema? She had grape earrings) was a fantastic server and just so kind and attentive. She kept the drinks flowing and The Trough arrived sooner than I expected and was everything I wanted for dinner and more.
