RIVAL BROTHERS ROCKS :)

Rival Brothers is it. Smooth, bold, no skips. Perfection in a cup. If you know, you know.

I work nearby and always stop by for coffee. I love that they have vegan and non dairy options. The vegan apple muffin is delicious and my coffee/chai is always great. Great service and cute atmosphere.

Mocha and Matcha

I have tried their iced Mocha and Matcha - both unsweetened. For straight matcha without any add ons, this is one of the best. It would've been amazing if slightly sweetened.

Amazing coffee spot! People were lining up outside because that's just how good it is. They have indoor and outdoor seating too!!!

macchiato

Macchiato was pretty good, no upcharge for oat milk which was nice. Lady wearing brown at the front counter today just stares at me instead of saying hello, zero customer service. Though she greeted the next person who was far lighter than me :/ hate to think that way but it's south philly. Guy making coffee was polite and quick. Seems like a nice quiet coffee shop not sure i'd return.

Cute little coffee shop, with some sitting both inside and outside. Great variety of coffee. Loved their peanut butter sandwich with figs and blueberry tart. Great services.

Opens on Sunday unlike some places. Tucked in the back is a sit down area but it as full. Otherwise I would've ordered more. Came here for the bathroom but it was important to patronize a local business Too. Nice, conscious staff! The pastries looked quality but they didn't stick out for me because I just came from a Brazilian bakery shop nearby.

Rivals Bros Coffee is a cute little coffee shop in South Philly that sits off of Passyunk Ave. I came here because I was told by a friend of mine that they had the best coffee in Philly, and after my experience, I can see that it was no lie. Rival Bros has some of the best coffee I've drunk in a while. They have cute decor with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well as fast and friendly service. After looking over the menu I decided to order an iced mocha and a vanilla brioche donut. Whew, Chile! After drinking my iced Mocha, I can see why Rival Bros logos are a boxing ring and two men appearing as if they're about to fight. Their coffee is so strong it feels like someone punched you in the face every time you take a sip ... which is perfect for a 9th-grade teacher who has been run ragged because they've had to teach through a pandemic since March of 2020! Even after asking for extra chocolate in my Mocha, it was still some of the strongest coffee I've ever had, and I loved every bit of it. I'd like to add that my Mocha went perfectly with my vanilla brioche donut. All in all, I would like to say that Rival Bros Coffee will get you RIGHT if you have a long day ahead of you, and like my friend said, it is the best coffee in the Southside of Philly!

Enjoyed a visit to Rival Bros Coffee while visiting Philly! Cute little cafe with good coffee, service, and atmosphere. Loved their merch as well.

I like stopping by now and then for their quality coffee and well-made coffee drinks. I specifically like the interior of the coffee shop. It's worth checking out. The location is very favorable too.

Affogato
Cherie C.

Great little coffee shop (though it's bigger than you'd think from outside). It was a hot, humid day, so we opted for a granita-type coffee drink and an affogato. Both were excellent. We had a seat and enjoyed our coffee there, but I wouldn't guess this is a place where you'd spend hours sitting coffee. Looks like most folks get their coffee and move on to the next place. And that's fine by me. If I'd been in town for much longer, I would have been back several times. Coffee was great.

Good coffee and space to get work done, but if you want to secure a seat you may have to come early.

Coffee was fabulous, food not so much. Food also way too expensive whereas price of coffee was normal.

Adore this place. The baristas are super friendly and the coffee is always good. The back is a great place to hang out and get work done.

DRINKS I had their iced mocha. I liked that it wasn't too…read moresweet, but I did not enjoy the grainy texture of the chocolate. The flavor also felt off, tasting more like binding ingredients in chocolate candy rather than a actual chocolate. FOOD Located next to Machine Shop, most guests don't come here for pastries, but they do have a limited selection of donuts and croissants. SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly. It's a small storefront so the line can seem quite long, but they are efficient in filtering people through. AMBIANCE Located in the Bok Building, there's ample seating in the general seating area right by and behind the storefront. The space is shared with other guests visiting Machine Shop and the stores in Bok. I saw some people working/studying, but it can get quite busy/loud. PARKING Paid street parking is available at a limited capacity. Most people park in neighboring streets or take the bus. BATHROOMS Bathrooms are located throughout the building.

My family and I got breakfast at Enswell during our stay in Philadelphia. This swanky, hip place…read moreoffers up elevated tasty food and superb service in an exquisitely decorated, albeit small, cafe. We braved negative degree weather for the roughly 10 minute walk from our hotel. We walked in at a good time. This is the type of place where a reservation for breakfast would be required. We were sat immediately. The dining area is tight. A green velvet bench, marble tables, metal chairs, all packed into a small area. You could very well have your butt brush over the table of the patrons next to you if you have to get up for any reason. It's tight. Our server was around quickly. He was super friendly and kept things conversational, light and sophisticated. My wife ordered an iced latte, I had their hot drip coffee. For a starter, we had to try the cinnamon knot bread. While it wasn't what we were expecting, it was good. Although, we wouldn't order again. The bread is presented as a small loaf, room temperature with a cold cream cheese icing drizzled over top. The bread had a mild cinnamon flavor and was dry. It lacked the sweet, moist dough you expect from a cinnamon bread. My wife ordered the French style omelet. This had gruyere cheese and chives. Beautifully plated, perfectly cooked and the taste was spot on. It was good enough to forget that she paid $21 for just an omelet, no meat, no sides. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. Pretty standard here. The eggs had bright orange yolks which is common for farm fresh eggs. The "coffee" hollandaise didn't come across with a coffee flavor but it was rich and went well with the ham and English muffins. One thing that stuck with me was their drip coffee. Not sure if it has been a while since I had a light roast but the Rival Bros. Revolver coffee was so good, I got a bag of whole beans to bring back home with me. I may even order it again online. Enswell succeeded on all fronts. The ambiance and service was great. The decor, impeccable. The food, thoughtful and tasty. The details from the silverware to the plates added to the experience. We would come back.

The crab fries and garlic bread are no skips. I hope to come back to try more food! We were lucky to get a table, the hostess was really nice and even found us outside to let us know we could make it! It does get really busy so I felt a bit rushed out but it was all good.
