Amazing korean barbecue spot super underrated. Our server was very helpful and friendly. We got the 2-3 person package and it was so much food!

Haven't had Korean food in a while n we're driving near engleeood cliffs n found The kalbi' w great reviews n thought we'd go there for dinner. Friendly welcoming staff. We had the kalbi combo A-1 seafood pancake and the spicy pork belly n squid stir fry. The seafood pancake was really good. There were lot of banchan. Tasted good. There was lot of meat w the kalbi combo - some marinated n some not. More than enough for 4 people. When cooked on the bbq they tasted so good. The pork belly n squid stir fry was so delicious, Loved the sauce. Generous portions n we had plenty of left overs of pork/ squid n seafood pancake. Thanks for a great dinner. We sure will come back soon.

This restaurant was awesome! We came to the restaurant at 9pm on a Wednesday and it was pretty empty. This place is spacious and has plenty of seatings. The server was friendly and helpful. I came to the restaurant with a total of 3 people and order 3 dishes. The portion sizes were huge. We were super full and had to pack some to go (the 3 of us also eat a lot usually). We ordered the Kimichi pancake with cheese, spicy octopus and pork belly stir fry with noodles, and army stew. Each dish was delicious. I am craving the food as I am typing this review. Also, the side dishes were also yummy. I recommend this restaurant and plan to visit again!

Came here for lunch on Presidents Day and it was empty. There was only one other table with customers. Inside looked like a higher end Korean restaurant but not as high end as the ones in NYC. We ordered Combo A (for two people) which came with brisket, short rib and marinated short rib. It also came with either kimchi or soybean soup, a steamed egg and some banchan. All their meat is advertised as prime and you could taste it. The brisket had such a strong beef flavor which you don't get from other briskets. The short rib was very tender with the perfect amount of fat. The marinated short rib was also very tender and sweet from the marinade. Overall this was one of the best Korean bbq restaurants I've been to in NJ. It is on the pricier side but worth the money because of the quality of all their meat. My wife and I already want to go back.

A friend came from Taiwan to visit. We took her and her friend to Kalbi for the ultimate K-BBQ experience. We absolutely love the food. Great quality meat. The side dishes are unlimited. Drink menu for alcohol and soft. The staff cook the meat for you so no hassle for us trying to cook and eat at the same time. The place is clean and spacious. Very well-maintained.

The soup made out of ribs.

New year's eve dinner was surprisingly good. My family party of 6 was perfect portion. The best was the perfection of korean bbq. They were endless juicy steak and briskets. The taste and the freshness of the beef amazingly delicious . My family was enthusiastic at the taste and quality. The servers were attentive and friendly.. check out pics. We'll be back for sure.

The Kalbi is around 10 min-drive from the busier Fort Lee area. Parking is available. Inside is dim, with blue lights from the metal wine display which separates 2 large dining areas. Was treated to a family birthday here so didn't get to look at the menu and prices. Our table was covered with plates of meat to be cooked, sides/accompaniments. Cooking was done by the staff - noted the meat were cooked thoroughly but they were tender. Dipped some in the salt/sauces, some were marinated so tasty already. Service was great- calm, attentive. They dimmed the lights and played a festive version of the birthday song as they brought out the cake with sparkler candle (which I think they put on). Nice! Wheelchair accessible.

We were back at Kalbi for a dinner with friends. The restaurant still maintained its classy appearance. Menu was also the same. We got the A2 combo that comes with 5 different kinds of meat, including bunch of side items. The servers were excellent at cooking all the meat, slicing and serving them. It was another pleasant dining experience at Kalbi.

My new fave kbbq spot in town from quality meats, good portion sizes with reasonable prices too. Interior looks great and it's also very spacious but it was already fully packed when we went at 7pm. Def reco making reservations ahead of time. Here's what we got: - combo set b for 2-3 5/5: high quality juicy meats and comes with a soybean soup, kimchi soup, and 2 eggs - pork belly 3.5/5: prob left it too long but it was relatively dry - seafood pancake 4.5/5: love the crispiness of lacking some seafood - beef tartar 3/5: not a fan of this since it was sliced up tartar- prefer the grounded version more and not too tasty

Came here because I was looking for an outdoor restaurant, they have a nice patio at the second floor that can fit maybe 3 4-tops. It's a cool neighborhood spot, reminds me of something I'd find in Korea. There are some more traditional dishes and then very Western crossover items. It sort of reminds me of Soram and a "bunsik" style resto in one. The dumplings are handmade and pretty tasty. I found the dishes to be a bit on the sweeter side but not off-putting. I really liked the crown prawns, a broiled butterflied shrimp topped with lobster and crab paste. The gochujang pasta was also tasty, reminded me of a vodka sauce but with almost creamy bisque like profile. On the pricier side but enjoyed it enough that I'd come back. I though it was a cool that I can eat something more traditional yet also get a more creative dish if I wanted.

The restaurant itself has such a cozy, homey vibe - very much a cute grandma and grandpa type of spot that immediately makes you feel warm and fuzzy like at your grandparents. One thing I absolutely loved: they give you an entire pot of kimchi with your order. Not just a few pieces on a small dish, but a whole pot. I wish it was a bit more fermented for my personal taste, but I really appreciate not having to keep asking for refills like at other places. The fried dumplings are a must order! The filling was super juicy and packed with flavor, honestly one of the highlights of the meal. We also ordered the classic yukgaejang kalguksu and the ox bone soup, and both were incredibly flavorful. The kalguksu noodles had that perfect chewy texture and paired so well with the rich, spicy yukgaejang broth. Everything felt comforting, like a warm homemade meal straight out of a grandma's kitchen.

We decided on this place because rating was pretty good and was open late. It's located in a plaza with Korean market, liquor store, cafe and such. Large parking area available in the plaza. Inside is small but clean and gives off traditional Korean restaurant vibe with of course Korean music. There were quite few Korean customers as well as staffs so i knew we were in the right place. They specialize in Korean beef soup. We ordered rice cake and dumplings and special beef rib soup. The fish came with purple rice and various kimchi and pickled veggies side dishes. They also serve korean hot tea along side the dishes. My special beef rib soup was very light and clear but full of beef flavor. Little touch with salt and pepper with pickled veggies and rice paired with very well. The meats were very tender and flavorful as well. Portion is quite large and i was not able to finish my bowl although i did help with another bowl of rice from my partner. My partner got the rice cake and dumplings beef soup. This one was a but lighter and needed more salt flavoring but also good. She liked her's better as she doesn't like heavier and fattier meat/broth. Salt and peppers are provided to adjust your seasoning as needed. Even though they could not finish the dishes i throughly enjoyed the food. What i like about Korean dishes is that even some are heavy and fatty they include lots of vegetables and healthy ingredients which makes it feel like you had a healthy meal and lots of nutrients despite eating out. Service was minimal but adequate. Overall it was very good authentic Korean restaurant that offers solid Korean beef soup. The restaurant is pretty small, so it's not great for large groups. We only had 5 but had to wait for one of the larger tables, which they only have two of. Here is what we ordered: -Shrimp & Leek Pancake - I'm normally not a fan of these pancakes because they tend to be soggy and oily. But this one was actually pretty good. I think it's because they use a very light, and very little batter - so it's mostly just shrimps and leeks. They also have a good amount of shrimp -Japchae - this one was meh. It wasn't smooth and glossy like I like my japchae to be. But that might be a good thing? Maybe it means they use less oil -CDH Tofu Bossam (steamed pork belly, tofu, kimchi wrap) - this seems to be the dish everyone was getting when I saw the reviews. Some pictures showed their homemade tri-colors tofu, which is why we didn't end up ordering a separate dish of that. I was disappointed when it came out with regular tofu, which was still good but not what I was expecting. The pork belly was nice and tender, and sliced thin. I wasn't a fan of the kimchi wrap because there was some kind of herb in it that I didn't like. Perilla leaf maybe? -LA Kalbi - meat was tender and the marinade was good -CDH Grilled Croaker (served with rice and soup) - perfectly fried and lots of meat. The tofu soup it came with was incredibly salty though Their banchan included fried tofu, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, shrimp sauce, and marinated squash. My favorite was the cucumber. It was bright and crispy. I would have been happy just eating this and some rice. I will say that the only weird thing is that they're on the inKind app, and when we went to their website, we saw there was a promo going on for $25 off $75. But as soon as they saw we had the coupon, they asked if we could pay with a different method because suddenly, "their system was down". The promo was part of the reason why we chose this spot, so we felt kind of like it was a bait and switch. We probably liked half of the items, and that experience left me a little salty. And with so many Korean restaurants in North Jersey, I think we'll try those spots before returning here.

There is a reason why this place is my go to place for OG Korean food…read more Authentic, flavorful, genuine and generous; they serve some of the best food in the area. There is always a wait, and clientele is a mix of older Korean looking for taste of home (like me) and new younger crowd who knows a good thing when they taste it. We ordered, pigs feet (everyone gets it, it's their signature dish), pork neck casserole (they don't skimp, lots of meat chunks and good flavors from wild sesame), bone broth soup/grilled fish combo (also a crowd favorite) and bulgogi in broth (it pleased our finicky eater, and they served a lot of meat instead of fillers). Kimchi sides were a mix of aged deep/sour kind (right up my alley). As for other comments about the 'bland' bone broth, it's supposed to be bland and they give you a number of condiments to suit your taste. It's BYOB, so bring your beer soju or somaks and join the crowd. Priced fair and with generous portions. We will be back again.

In the corners of the dining room, there were large nets of onions, boxes of napa cabbage, dish collection trays, tin cans, and oversized plastic bags of MSG, giving the impression that little attention was paid to the atmosphere. Three types of kimchi were served, but they were overly fermented--too sour and somewhat sticky. Nevertheless, I did enjoy the gamjatang, my favorite dish, which was satisfying. However, my wife was disappointed with her sundae gukbap due to the poor quality of the sundae and the lingering pork odor. We had high expectations based on the strong reviews on Yelp, but ultimately decided not to return.
