    Garlic spicy chicken

Like most pochas this is a small and cozy restaurant. The parking situation isn't so great, so try to carpool. In terms of alcohol, don't be expecting wine and cocktails on the menu. They have a great selection of makgeolli and sojus , so enjoy! The staff is very friendly and gives great recommendations. And most importantly, the food is delicioussss! It's as if your Korean grandmother is in the kitchen whipping up all the best korean comfort foods while you sit back and relax with the drinks. Forgot to take a picture of the gamjatang because we were so hungry. But when this chicken dish came out, I remembered! Haha. It was crunchy on the outside drizzled in garlicky sweet and spicy sauce, and juicy on the inside. It has a perfect amount of heat. You may think that the breading is a bit thick at first but it becomes an anju all on its own. Make sure to have some gum or mouthwash after! One thing I regret is getting too full too quickly.... I really wanted to have the clam sunjebi soup.

Stopped by around 6:30pm on a friday and I think we were one of the first tables. It only really starts getting busy 8pm onwards. But even then not overly packed. The vibe is really nice, not loud. You can have conversations with friends. But the food is what's good! Probably the best of all the Pochas around. That's coming from friends who's frequents pochas. They give you complimentary noodle seaweed soup. Ordered: Seafood pancake - was alright. Not really crunchy and lacking flavor. You have to really dip it in the sauce to get something. skewers - were good but not the best I've had compared to a yakitori spot. Chicken was good, the mushroom wrapped in bacon was ok, the pepper wrapped in bacon was also not bad. I think the best call outs were the spicy chicken with cheese and the potato and pork backbone hot pot. Absolutely delicious!

Trieds new dishes and they were great. The intestines dish was tender and not chewy like some places and the stir fried beef brisket was really good. Their beer options were Terra and Cass, both Korean beer and had a variety of soju options. Great place to hang out and eat but it does get pretty noisy especially on weekends. Do arrive rarly if you want to get a seat at the bar area though...

Came here with friends on a Friday for dinner (7ish). My friend suggested this spot. We were seated promptly once we entered. The place had a dark and warm vibe to it. Music wasn't too loud so you can have conversations without screaming. Started out with complimentary hot noodle soup, which was really good. Ordered some sort of fried chicken (sweet n sour I think?) dish which was really good. Got the army stew which was also solid. Cheese corn was pretty amazing. And got some chicken and beef skewers, tasty. Overall the food and service was really good. If you want really good Korean food at a low key spot, this is the place. I will be back to try out other dishes.

Mediocre pocha place in town; came on a Sunday night and surprisingly we were the only people there. So if you're looking for a low key place with no lines, I'd come here. They have an interesting set up right next to the amazing katsu curry place, called sazanami which I highly recommend checking out! I'm a person that can handle my spice but their budae jigae [4/5] was the most spicy I've ever had and made it less enjoyable. The broth was decent tho The seafood pancake [3/5] was super bready and lacking taste, dipping sauce for it was rather salty too I really enjoyed their free noodles as a banchan though! Broth was delicious too

Overall this place was a 4 stars. The food ranged from 3.5 to 4 depending on the items that we had. Limited beer options. They do not have draft beer and only bottle and not many options at all. They give you this noddle soup on the house on the house in the beginning which was pretty good. We had the garlic fried chicken which had an excellent garlic flavor but the chicken itself was disappointing. It was very crispy but there was barely any meat! Bunch of breading with tiny measly pieces of chicken! What was that?! We ate a bunch of just fried dough. We also had the rolled egg omelette and that was pretty decent. We also had the chicken, beef and the shrimp skewers. All were pretty good but a bit pricy for the little skewers that you get. Now onto the vibe, spacious and not overly crowded with music that is not too loud. Service was friendly. Overall a solid spot. I wouldn't mind coming here again

Took my sister here after shopping cus I wanted to try the spicy garlic and pepper chicken. Glad I didn't take my bil here cus he likes spicy and this would not be spicy enough. Garlic pepper chicken- I knew it was similar to the sweet and spicy chicken but I felt like it was the same thing but maybe a little spicier. Not that spicy and this time it felt like there was too much batter Beef jun or beef pancake- not sure but it's one of the starters. Thin beef, seemed like 4 slices cus in thirds. Not worth $19 but it was good and something on the not too heavy side. I wouldn't get it again Went around 6:15. Service was okay- not bad but not good. Food took forever to come out. We got our dipping sauce and stuff and waited awhile. We weren't that hungry when we went but got so hungry waiting. I do love that the food comes out hot. It slowly started getting busy. Left around 7 and the bar area was packed and there were like 5 tables with customers and then at least 5 people came in while we were walking out. I haven't tried it all but I feel like the soup/stews are good. Parking lot was packed when we left. Two cars were trying to get parking when there was none

This space has been around for more than 20 years. It used to be a bunsik type place, then something else and now more of a pocha place. The place is small but cozy and liked the vibes. Friendly staff who got my jokes and gave us enough space to enjoy ourselves. Got bude jjigae which was good, fried gizzards which was amazing (huge and juicy). Also had the scallion chicken which was ok but next time I might ask to have the coleslaw on the side (see picture for reference). While I appreciate the creativity and effort in the presentation, it looked like lava vomit and did not appreciate that approach. Not for me. I don't like coleslaw, especially when it looks like vomit, poured all over my crunky chicken. Small parking lot

I don't understand how this place gets terrible reviews because My Way is SOLID! Parking: never an issue during weekdays but Fridays and Saturdays are dicey. I recommend coming between 7-9PM. Service: The service is what I prefer. Because I traveled to Asia frequently, I'm used to not being swamped with questions. They're attentive but not pushy. Other restaurants, take note! Ambience: I felt as if I was transported to a restaurant in Seoul. The place is busy but not too hectic and you can actually carry a conversation without shouting. Food: This is the first Pocha I visited in Jersey that I genuinely want to visit every week. The ribeye skewers are fantastic. I could easily eat a few with a bowl of rice for a quick bite. My go-to orders are the cheese buldak and garlic pepper chicken (the latter I HIGHLY RECOMMEND). The kimchi pancake is a solid 8/10 as well. Another dish I truly love is the beef pancake. They have spring onions as a topping and I couldn't get enough. Portions are big so I'll say visit with at least three people. Please support this local Pocha!

The service was better than the food. For the price you're paying, the food was very subpar and missing components to its tastes. Probably won't be back.

Such an authentic korean restaurant/bar. I did not try many of their menu but like the vibe of the restaurant. I tried clams with beef and it was good but clams were kind of chewy 4 stars. Tried some other menus too but nothing impressive. Overall satisfied and will go back sometime later!

Great experience always looking to try new things. Our water explained everything really good gave us the background on the style of restaurant they were. We were eating at midnight and being adventurous he suggested the live baby octopus. It came came with 2 sauces Cho Chang is what he spelled a slight spice to it and sesame oil with salt and pepper. The octopus was delivered at 4:00pm the day we had it it was still moving a mild flavor slightly chewy but very good. The yakitori is good not covered in sauce. This place is a must try

Added benefit, they had their own parking lot, fitting about 10-12 cars right in front of the 3rd floor entrance thru the private parking lot. Once we arrived on Saturday evening, the manager took us to their biggest room since we had about 14 people. The room was cozy enough. All guests were able to see the TV fine. The music/lyrics were played through Youtube, so it was easy to search and play them. The microphones and sound systems worked fine too. We were the only ones in the karaoke room around 7pm, but by 9pm all their rooms were full, so was the restaurant's dining space. During the party, we ordered a bunch of drinks and food items. They had a call-in button in the room that notified the manager to come in. The grape slush bowl were massive hits among our friends. Ube rice wine also good. Among food onion rings, fresh fries, cheese sticks, fried (pork) dumplings, chicken wings, chili shrimp, and cream shrimp all were good quality. I loved the fried gizzards, takoyakis and butter roasted squid. They actually served a whole squid that I had to cut in pieces. Throughout the night the manager and rest of staff members provided wonderful service. Being a large party, we had lots of orders and requests, that they accommodated for us. They also kept the birthday cake in their kitchen and when we were ready, they brought it out with a fire cracker on top. We also got plenty of bowls and cups for all of us to share the food, cake and drinks. Originally we had booked for 2 hours, but since everyone was having such good time, we extended for another hour. Highly recommend them for karaoke night or just to enjoy some delicious Korean food.

We ordered a lot of food and drinks. I was so busy singing. I really didn't know what were the names of the dishes or drinks. But the soju drink with grape slush was wonderful. Very light. It's shareable size. Came with 4 straws. Also a ube drink that you pour ube juice into a bowl of alcohol (?). Very interesting and great taste. Onion rings were crispy. Takoyaki was not bad. It's the perfect spot to gather with friends for food, drinks, and karaoke. I tried the Scallion Chicken which was crispy, bite sized, and served in a savory dipping sauce. So easy to eat and enjoy! The Corn Cheese was probably the most cheese I've ever seen on this dish; an absolute dream if you're a cheese lover. The Spicy Beef Stew was warm, comforting, and tender with the perfect kick. The Hamburger Meat dish was decadent and rich over sweet caramelized onions. The Cheesy Omelette was one of our favorites! Cheesy on the inside with crispy garlic on top. Bulgogi Tacos had tender meat and was a harmonious blend of Korean and Mexican flavors. The Cheesy Spicy Chicken was insanely delicious. A massive, shareable portion filled with chicken, potatoes, rice cakes and onions, completely blanketed in cheese. I'd come back just for this! However, the Kimchi & Seafood Pancakes had great flavor, but unfortunately they came out a bit soggy, so I'd probably skip these next time. Pair all of this amazing food with their flavored soju and chilled beer, and finish the night off in their karaoke rooms. This place has amazing vibes and ever better food and drinks!

I had been to Soosanghan Pocha before for some karaoke but never really had their food. It's a pretty large space and given how early it was the space was practically empty. I ordered a burger skillet and my girlfriend got the Army Stew. The Army Stew was good and comforting on a chilly morning. It was packed with all different kinds of processed meats and some noodles. My burger skillet was a lot bigger than i expected and it tasted really good. It was essentially a huge burger patty in a bed of caramelized onions with an egg on top. The meat was super juicy and flavorful. It was pretty tender too. It was on the saltier side, especially if you got a spoonful of the sauce. But that just means it paired especially well with the white rice it was served with. The service was quick and friendly, but I expected it to be with the restaurant basically empty. Overall I enjoyed the meal and would come back to try some more of their dishes.
