A cold, sad, POS, disgusting sandwich . smd

You can improve the SHITTY sandwiches you make. Those sad, overly priced, cold, sandwiches for $8.75 - Absolutely disgrace to your business. All my life ive been to a donut shop and never ONCE where the sandwiches poor. This place is a disrespect to the donut shops everywhere. Makes sense 3/5 stars should be 1 STAR and close down. Generation dishonor to your whole family blood line

Ham & Cheese Croissant - Dry croissant, old ham. Below average.
    Jason G.

Rating strictly for their Ham & Cheese Croissant. $5.95 + tax. Saw the mixed reviews but they were the closest donut shop and was short on time. The croissant was visibly dark on top and sure enough was hard. The ham inside was dry too and overall didnt taste fresh like it was made the night before or overcooked. Overall disappointed. 2 stars at best.

    Plain and Swiss cheese Croissant

Got a Swiss cheese and plan croissant and the croissant was hard on some parts and warm on others it also came folded up as well. I also got Donut holes that were warm and kinda to sweet.

I love this old school donut shop in San Clemente. Nothing like a long-standing community family business. Every time I go in there the donuts are well-stocked, fresh and delicious. My go to is the crumb doughnut, vanilla cake and a ham and cheese croissants. I've had other things like the breakfast toast sandwiches and croissant sandwiches. I've also had a few of the milk tea and Boba drinks. My only complaint is when I ask for less or half sweet for those beverages, it never comes that way. The milk tea is very sweet. I love that they've been taking credit cards now for a while. There is parking right out in front. Reasonably priced.

Rose Cafe & Donuts has probably got the best breakfast sandwiches in San Clemente, although, I have to admit, this was really the first time I had ever "checked out" San Clemente longer than a pit stop for gas. As my mom and I were "passing through" taking this l-o-n-g-e-r rest stop from driving on the 5 (we were on our way to San Diego), we decided to get something more substantial to eat. Anyway, you have to go here. Rose Cafe's food seemed quite popular, considering there was a constant stream of customers ordering, and everyone noticeably ordered something different. I really liked the outdoor tables and chairs, located right outside the eatery. It definitely allowed us to enjoy the cool ocean breeze, even though you can't see the water. All in all, Rose Cafe rocks. We were glad to have found this cute place, tucked into a shopping center, no less. Overall, the food was awesome, and the location was super-convenient.

Ambiance is simple, and inviting. The reviews talk about breakfast burritos, so that would be interesting to try in the future. I will primarily focus on the donuts and service, which were both amazing. Love the variety of donuts, including donut holes. Nice to be able to bring 12 donuts and 12 different donut holes (powdered, sugar, cinnamon, sprinkles) lots of different options including the delicious apple fritters, croissants, and traditional donuts. My biggest compliment is to the service. So nice to be greeted with a smile, complimentary donut, and even asked to bring the donuts to my car since he knew I was holding a toddler in one arm! Going out of the way is so sweet, and is gonna earn someone a 5 star Yelp review

Otherwise, I rarely get to visit since it's quite a trek with my work and busy schedule. From my many prior reviews, you know I'm a fan. Well, I didn't think I could give higher praise for this place, but enter the banana fritter. I'll start by saying I love key lime pie and the custard on the key lime donut is to die for. Give me a bucket of that and I'm done. I'm not even a banana fan, but one bite of this donut and my mind was blown. Deep fried goodness on top of caramel and banana sweetness makes your heart skip a beat. This is what all bear claws should aspire to be. This is the first time John, one of the owners wasn't there (but I get it, they opened a second location in Utah). Yet, the people who work here generally seem happy about life. I mean do they pay them in donuts?! There's talk about JD Flannel and Oliboli in Tustin duking it out for top spot, but the gap has only widened today for me. No disrespect to Oliboli because they're very good, but these donuts are on another level (cheaper/better value too). I only go here yearly, but I need to change that. This place is dangerous, but worth it.

Niguel Bakery & Donuts isn't just a place we eat -- it's where our kids grew up…read more Let me get the obvious out of the way first: yes, the donuts are legit. Our go-to favorites are the chocolate cronut (dangerous), the glazed old fashioned, and their cake donuts -- the kind that remind you why donuts were invented in the first place. But here's what most people don't realize... The deli is a hidden gem. My wife's favorite is their American Mexi-Cal style breakfast burrito -- and for good reason. Huge, insanely good value, big crispy buttery potatoes, soft chewy tortillas, and a portion size that laughs at inflation. I recently had their Boar's Head deli-sliced ham and cheese on sourdough with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles, and I genuinely don't have the vocabulary to describe how soft and perfect that sandwich was. It's not "good for a donut shop." It's just really good. But honestly? The food is only part of why this place matters to us. Our kids practically grew up here. Dave and Dani have known our family since before our kids were even born. They've seen both of our children grow -- literally from in the womb, to infants, to toddlers, and now our kids are 2 and 7 years old. We'll be posting photos through the years because... yeah, this place is part of our family history. That's not something you can fake. This is one of those rare neighborhood spots where you sit for hours in the morning, coffee in hand, talking with locals, laughing, and catching up. It's where the community actually feels like a community. The owners, Dave and Dani, are some of the kindest, most genuine people you'll ever meet. Dave is basically a big kid himself (especially when it comes to cars) and somehow always finds ways to surprise my kids with random little toys -- the kind of moments kids remember forever. I grew up in a small town in Virginia, out of my own mom's deli and convenience store -- where locals gathered over coffee, the Washington Post (and yes... cigarettes back then ). Living on the West Coast without family nearby, Niguel Bakery & Donuts gives me that same feeling of home. This is a place where kids can still feel safe like the old days -- riding bikes with friends, scraping together change for a snack... and if they're a little short and have been on their best behavior, Dave and Dani might just take care of them anyway. That kind of generosity can't be taught -- it's who they are. It's an East Coast bodega-style bakery/deli, right here in Laguna Niguel, and they don't just talk about community -- they show it through the countless non-profit events, food donations, and local causes they support. If you're looking for more than just donuts -- if you want great food, real people, and a place that feels like home -- this is it. We'll be here tomorrow morning. And the next day. And probably for years to come.
