My husband asked the waitress to remove the charge for the inedible steak. She said she could not do so without speaking to her manager, who wasn't working. She eventually returned, with the inedible steak charge removed, and the lobster roll charges remaining. My husband paid the bill together with a generous tip for the waitress. She didn't incur a financial penalty. We have the receipts. For a restaurant owner to lie and claim we'd cheated them into giving us free food is baffling. To call us "uneducated " and suggest we "cook for ourselves " because we expected food to be edible is baffling. Needless to say, nobody owes Mark a positive review for bad food. Lying about the bill is no way to run a business either.
