It's been awhile since I stopped in, and I was looking forward to a healthy tasting lunch. This cozy eatery is exactly as I recall, its vibrant and sunny decor just makes me smile. It was rather busy when I walked in, and thats always a good sign. I love all their green plants lining the window and it feels so cheery in the sunlight. The falafel salad and souvlaki salad tasted both fresh and not overly done. The individual pots of tea ordered was perfect on this cold blustery day. It's a nice place to dine when you want to eat well without all the extra calories. The menu has a good amount to choose from, but not so much that you are feeling overwhelmed. Service is solid and they are attentive but they certainly don't hover. All in all it's a great place to eat and catch up. You'll leave feeling satisfied without the guilt of a heavy meal. read more

We came here when we were visiting family in the area. Right away - we settled into the warm vibe of this cozy and lively spot, and admired the whimsically decorated table. Our server was quick to help us and take our order. I had eaten beforehand, but I enjoyed some bites of my dining companions' Kobe Flatiron Steak and the Mahi Mahi fish special of the day. Both menu items were outstanding. The steak was absolutely incredible and the fish was lovely and moist. The portions were generous here and the food was beautifully plated. Scallions' menu is extensive as well. I appreciated that they indicated on their menu - which items were vegan and/or gluten free. If you're looking for delicious food paired with a welcoming dining area - Scallions is your spot. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food and the attentive customer service. LOVE the falafel wrap. Would order this again for lunch. Sweet chili sauce makes the dish; mostly greens with less falafel than I expected, so not the most filling dish on their menu. Falafel very tasty; tastier than what I receive at most Middle Eastern restaurants. VEGAN blueberry pie was perfect, although quite sweet. Seemed like it was made of fresh blueberries; seemed very home made. Husband ordered the salmon salad for the second day in a row. I'm not sure why I sometimes try other restaurants. Incredible farm-to-table restaurant in downtown Saratoga. Staff was incredible. First time there they were jammed, but accommodated our party of six adults and two new borns. Just made us feel welcomed. Restaurant is clean, comfortable and very nice. Server was friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive to the group. Everyone loved their dish and everyone grabbed a bite of everyone's dish because they all looked great! Basically, every dish we tried left a smile on our faces. We went to Scallions in Toga. I had a porterhouse which was easily one of the best steaks I have had in a long time. It was literally melt in your mouth and very flavorful. I tried my wife's gnocchi in a Bolognese and it was excellent. The two others in our party both said theirs was very good. They had the Pork Chop in an orange ginger glaze and Beef Short Ribs. The service was very good and the ambience good. Including the music was pleasant and was at a level where I did not have to strain to hear conversation. read more

We go to scallions every year when we go to saratoga for the races. The food was delicious, we had crab cakes and fried green tomatoes for appetizers, entrées we had salmon and gnocchi bolognese. Met up here with my friends that have an assortment dietary requirements and food allergies. There were lots of choices for everyone (gluten free, vegetarian, etc.) I had the tuna entree for dinner. I love this place, this so my new favorite gourmet restaurant ... my husband got me here to make up for the horrible food the night before at Chianti. The experience was like day and night. From the moment you walk in you can't help yourself from noticing the vivid decor. Every turn of head catches your attention. We had the beat salad with poached pears and candied walnuts... so good!! My favorite though was the entree...pistachio crusted salmon... the crust on it was to die for. Had seen the good reviews and decided to try this place out for dinner while in town. Service was excellent. Food was very good. I had the sea bass over pistachio and dried cranberries risotto and it was absolutely delicious! My husband had the beef and it was cooked to his liking . He did not think the mashed potatoes were that great and that the carrots were not cooked that well. The naan was delicious. The salad was very good, just wish the dressing had been out on the side. Another restaurant visit during the Saratoga restaurant week. The restaurant is in the heart of downtown Saratoga which drives a lot of traffic and when you serve with good food.....people would feel like coming back like I plan to and was told by my wife we are coming back every alternate week. Though her imagination and ideas run wild let's step into the real world. My son (9 year old) is a picky eater who prefers eating home cooked food and doesn't like ice cream or Chocolate and he said the food was good, what can I say....other than praise the restaurant and chef. We has a 3 course meal which included a beet and goat cheese salad with poached pears for the first course, pistachio crusted salmon with wild rice and asparagus for the main entree which was my favorite and chocolate cheese cake for the dessert. My son had a chicken wrap with stuffed wild rice and chips on the side. Like their wall says.....people who love to eat are always the best people and the best people come back for some great food. The restaurant has eclectic charm and character becsuse if the art (sticks.com) making it apt for a date night or a dinner with family or friends. Look forward to a second visit. read more

This review is for catering/private events specifically, not for the general menu; will have to go back to try that. I find myself attending a lot of events with passed appetizers and the quality is typically mediocre. At last night's event they were fabulous. Perfect fried falafel balls with a chili dipping sauce, scallops wrapped in bacon and crostini with a rich goat cheese topping stand out in my memory. The quality continued through a buffet dinner and desserts, highlighted by an amazing creme brulée. Staff were in top form throughout making for a delightful evening. Most establishments have a sliding scale for private events and catering and I am pretty sure this menu was at the top of the scale, but even so, Scallions executed on their promise. If you are planning to host your own event, talk to them and mention the private event on 7/9/22 as a reference point. read more

The rain has stopped and friend and I ventured out to lunch. Scallions was on our list as a place to try. That being said, it was delicious. The restaurant is located on Lake Avenue in Saratoga. It does have it's own parking lot, however, it only permits a half dozen cars to park with ease. (There are other spots in the lots for other companies.) We ended up parking in a public lot a block away. The lunch menu is small but offers sufficient number of choices for lunch. It did have a few appetizers, but we did not opt to order one at this time. Also offered were a few special cocktails and a beer list. Friend selected a fruit laden sangria, I had the Blueberry Vodka Lemonade. (I prefer drinks much sweeter than the lemonade but it was good.) Friend and I both ordered the duck salad. It was an excellent choice. The "Citrus Duck Salad" was fresh, topped with a warm confit duck leg on a bed of spinach. (I requested a mix of the baby spinach and romaine. Friend went with the salad as is.) The salad also included dried cranberries, orange segments, pecans, and goat cheese with a sweet poppyseed dressing. Waitress offered a side of a baguette or a piece of naan; for an additional charge. (Just an FYI.) Truth be told, I normally leave a few pieces of unwanted salad tidbits I find unpalatable. This was not the case with this salad. (I did leave a tiny tiny piece of romaine heart and the duck cartillege.) Then dessert was offered which, unfortunately was declined since I had finished off the salad.... and the baguette.... and the drink. Hours later, I am still quite satisfied. Just delectable! The restaurant is decorated with eclectic art pieces. (Fish made from kitchen tools, statues made from discarded pieces of tree, clock made from a table top...) The staff were attentive and the food was quite good! I am looking forward to my next visit since the menu has much to offer. read more

Went to Scallions for Saratoga restaurant week. Chose it because of it's name and the course choices. We each had a different salad for the first course, with each being delicious. Second course duck breast with scallion pancakes and mahi-mahi over butternut squash risotto. Again both were excellent. third course ricotta pistachio cake and chocolate flourless cake. Delicious! I haven't been to Scallions in over a decade but I enjoyed it then and it turns out that it was better today than I had remember it being. Back in the day I tried a chilled peach soup and was pleased to see it still on the menu! It was creamy and had a nice flavor. Perfect on a warm summer day. The flatbread appetizer was topped with caramelized onions, olives, artichokes, havarti cheese, arugula and balsamic glaze. It was a nice way to start our lunch! The flatbread was crunchy and the toppings were fresh. The souvlaki salad was piled on top of a tzaziki topped piece of naan. The salad dressing had dried oregano and a nice bite. The salad had romaine, warm sautéed chicken slices, ripe tomato, feta and sliced kalamata olives. It was a generous portion. Scallions tuna wrap had lettuce, tomato, hard boiled egg and pickles inside. The flavors worked nicely and the lettuce added a nice crispness. The tuna wasn't too heavy on the mayo, in my opinion. I would go back to Scallions when I'm in Saratoga Springs again! read more

Salad offerings are terrific and are always the first thing I glance at. No dish has ever disappointed! Tonight, as usual, the service was exceptional. Fabulous spot! They do have a very small parking lot, but you can also find parking on the street. Before today I only have gotten salads to go (which are so amazing) but we came here for lunch to kill some time so I actually sat and had lunch. This place is adorable!!! I ordered the Galileo sandwich which has chicken, Swiss, mozzarella, roasted reds, garlic Mayo on a corn-jalapeño bread. OUT OF THUS WORLD! I kind of expected a corn bread with the "corn-jalapeño bread", but it's more like bread with corn and jalapeños chopped into it, but I certainly was not disappointed. It also came with a side salad which was not mentioned on the menu, I love the salads here. The greens here are always so fresh, and the dressing *chef's kiss*. The carrot cake was a little dry but pretty good. It does have walnuts, shredded toasted coconut and shredded carrots. I think next time I would likely skip this and try the creme brûlée. This is my favorite restaurant in Saratoga Springs! First off, the ambiance is fun and hip, with an artisan type feel in the inside. There is a nice patio on the outside with comfortably spaced tables. The customer service is great! We were immediately seen by a server and she was extremely friendly and kind. The cocktails are some of the best I've had in Saratoga at a restaurant. I unfortunately do not have pictures nor remember my drink order, but I do remember how delicious it was. In terms of food, you can't go wrong. I always start with the mushroom polenta, pictured here. In my opinion this is their star dish. The way the flavors of the mushrooms and the texture of the polenta go together is just divine. You can find me licking the plate-I just want more. For the main course, the quinoa burger takes the cake. It comes with a siracha type sauce and it is just so delicious. I never thought I would like a burger without any meat, and this is easily one of the best I've had. Highly highly recommend visiting this place on a trip to Saratoga, and reservations are definitely encouraged as this place is usually busy! read more

This is a great restaurant with many vegan and vegetarian options in the Saratoga Springs town. We were visiting for the music festival, and made a reservation for dinner. Be sure to reserve a table! The food was delicious, and the portions were very appropriate - the appetizers or small enough to leave you wanting more, and the entrée was absolutely feeling. I had the naan appetizer and a salad with my entrée, the falafel patty with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. The falafel was extremely soft, hot, and fresh, and the mashed potatoes were super creamy, despite being a vegan option! The broccoli was also perfectly steamed. The vegan cookie and cream ice cream was a little bit mushy. I've had better options. The atmosphere in this restaurant is very relaxing, despite it being very busy for dinner. I had a lovely lunch at Scallions. I'm new to the area and my friend suggested several places to eat. I checked out their online me yes and the Citrus Duck Salad at Scallions caught my eye; it did not disappoint! The duck was cooked to perfection and the tangy citrus and sweet poppy seed dressing made a beautifully balanced and delectable salad. My friend enjoyed her sandwich from the specials menu. Never judge a book by its cover. We were headed into town to another restaurant to grab some lunch when we drove past Scallions. When you see their logo and are in the mood for some veggies, you think you're about to win! Well, the truth is, you are about to lose. Our diet leads us to a lot of veggies, and we thought we hit the jackpot with Scallions. The gentleman who was seating us was beyond kind and good at his job. Two stars earned: 1. They're not a bad place to eat--it's just not what you think it is. 2. The meals aren't quite what they sound like. We started with a summer caprese salad. Who doesn't love a really good caprese salad? Well, the menu reads as follows "Sliced ripe tomatoes, zucchini, sweet corn, fresh mozzarella pearls drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar." We thought we hit the jackpot until our plate was brought over, and we are suddenly let down. There are about 6 very small mozzarella balls, balsamic in a cup, drizzled olive oil, random pieces of corn, raw zucchini and some tomatoes (see photo). The ratio of mozzarella is totally off, and this was definitely not worth $11. This was letdown #1. Letdown #2 went something like this-- We asked for the Maui Chicken Wrap, but without the wrap. We were mostly interested in the curry chicken salad. He said we can get the Trio Salad with 3 scoops of the curry chicken salad. We thought we were winning! So, we go ahead and order that. Well, the dish comes out and it's 3 scoops (as you'd assume) of curry chicken salad with about 10 pieces of arugula. This was far from an actual plate of lettuce that would serve as a salad. Again, there was nothing awfully wrong with this place except their food just didn't meet our expectations. This meant we walked out still hungry and unsatisfied. read more
