My friends took me here to celebrate my birthday and I didn't know what to expect but I was really excited. My three friends were called to start at the scheduled time and my stylist was late for 30 minutes. At first, I was a little annoyed but once they called me, and I sat there for several minutes, they apologized profusely and I told them that it was my birthday so as long as they made me feel special, it was going to be OK. Boy, did they make me feel special! They gave me a small bag of travel goodies and took very good care of me. I loved every minute from the moment that they analyzed my scalp to telling me what recommendations I should add and how I should double wash when I am at home. When I got to the pod where they washed my hair, it was heaven on earth. I actually fell asleep for a bit. When I got back to my seat, I got a blowout and beautiful curls. Wonderful service start to finish. Open area in the front as they check your scalp with a camera and then they do a essential oil treatment, neck and shoulder massage to get you relaxed. Then they do a oil scalp massage. It is a calm, relaxing, and peaceful space. Once the oil treatment is done they bring you to a private room in the back. Before I began my scalp specialist double checked all ingredients in al the products to insure there was no gluten or coconut. Multiple steps and types of hair treatments are done. I laied down in an amazing full body massage chair from shoulders to toes I felt like a new person. They dont explain the process unless you ask and I just enjoyed the experience and asked as she was drying my hair what products were used and how often to come back. They sit you down where they get to know more about you and your needs then take you to an individual room where you're in a massage bed while you get your treatment and I thought it was the best part of when you get your hair done (the wash and massage that lasts 5 seconds) but it was the entire time!! Sometimes you're in the mood for a relaxing day and the Scalp Bar will provide you just that! I booked an appointment online and was seen by my stylist, Niki. She was so sweet, easy conversation and had great touch with my hair. I booked the basic treatment - which is now $100 - and added on the chroma gloss ($11) + longer than waist length hair ($25, not advertised on their menu and I'm not sure if my hair goes past my waist..). The process is pretty uniform to other appointments I've had here. They greet you, sit you down to talk about your hair/any concerns, go over options and take you back for the wash and scalp massage. I'm pretty sure I doze off every time during these.. they're just so relaxing! To finish off the appointment, they'll make you some hot tea or bring water, blow dry your hair and you are off to take on the day. There are a few things different than when they first opened: 1. prices have increased just a bit (basic which was $85 is now $100), 2. they have a loyalty card (though I'm not sure if they advertise or offer it to customers often) and 3. it looks like they offer more products to buy in store (they even have a case full of Nutrafol and cold drinks like coconut water in a mini fridge). I really do appreciate that they have your service card filled out and ready for you to complete when you arrive; it's a simple thing that makes the customer coming in feel appreciated and seen. I don't recommend this place. I booked online after seeing an instagram influencer's story. I was so excited to visit here to get the anti-hair loss treatment which is over $180. As soon as I sat down on the chair, the service person tried to up sale. She tried her best but $180 is already over my budget. My spa day was already ruined. I was so disappointed after my treatment. Because my back side of head was not washed properly. I had to wash my hair at home again. I saw the before and after pictures. I booked online and read reviews thoroughly and chose the person I wanted to meet with for my first time. I had to move my schedule around to fit within her time slots open, but made it work. Upon arriving they took the liberty to swap me to someone else and stated that the other person isn't in all the time (weird when they have an online booking schedule). She did the dog and pony show everyone around me was doing - this is your scalp - these are the upsell items you should buy etc. I took one upsell, but not the rest. When we went into the back room where you are in the chamber for the treatment it was not what I had in mind. It was relaxing at first, the lady said "see you after the treatment." I thought she was leaving, but she stayed and I guess that was the signal that she was going to stop talking. Anyway, the massage was probably 6 rubs with her thumb - like when you ask your boyfriend for a back massage and he couldn't want to do anything less. The marketing has all the steps as grandiose but in reality they are very minor parts. I told her I had a wedding coming up and then she talked the whole time about hers, instead of the whole "See you after your treatment." It was entertaining, but not what I was hoping for. The hair part was where she shined, she took almost 45 mins on my blowout and my hair sin't long. She was very passionate about the hair part so I could tell she came from that side and the massaging/scalp part was just checking boxes. In the end, I think it matters who you see, and as you can see, its not possible to pick. Lastly, the lady that checked me out was a snobby gal. Instead of taking my card, swiping it and letting me go, she kept greeting and checking people in while I was just standing there holding my credit card. Bye. Booking was a little tricky because of my time, but I was able to get an appointment, well worth the wait. I was greeted nicely at the front and Sara was my scalp technician . It's very beautiful inside. Very relaxing. They take a camera and let you see your scalp which was so interesting and so cool that other place definitely did not do that. She was very thrown on asking me questions and letting me know what she was doing. You go back to a room after some initial treatments and your head is massaged for like 45 minutes while you're on a full body massager amazing!!! I really need to see how I can fit this in my budget to do it every month. They have a package that you can get for this. I did use a Groupon to use my first time cause I wasn't sure if I would like it or not definitely will be back. I went to Scalp Bar today and was thoroughly disappointed. I did receive a scalp analysis, but it was quite minimal and didn't offer much insight beyond noting that my scalp appeared oily. It didn't feel like a thoughtful or informative assessment. From my experience, a proper scalp treatment should include a thorough consultation, exfoliation or detox, a tension-relieving scalp massage, steam or heat therapy, and targeted nourishing treatments. Unfortunately, this experience fell short on several of those elements. Most notably, there was no real scalp massage, which is one of the main reasons I book these treatments. The attendant used a tool and brushed my scalp, which felt okay, but it lacked the therapeutic, hands-on technique I expect. Other scalp spas incorporate tools as part of the experience, but not as a replacement for massage. There was also little communication about what was being used--I wasn't told what products were applied or whether a treatment or mask was included, which felt unusual for a service at this price point. Overall, the experience felt closer to a basic shampoo and blow-dry rather than a true scalp treatment. The blow dry was nicely done, which is why I'm giving two stars, but overall it did not feel like a good value and I would not recommend it. I love the overall business they have, it's very similar to other scalp bars in town, I'd say the selling point is the luxury hair care products they use. But that's not even what the issue is, I bought what they recommended for shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner and serum for my hair which cost $175. I used it for the first time today and my hair is very staticky. I already noticed it when I got home after my service but I thought maybe it was just that night. But when it happened again after I used the products, I called them spoke with this girl Katy. She said I have to use it a few times and maybe my hair will get used to it. So if it doesn't, I can't exchange or return these products for what's right for my hair. Her solution was to come in if it keeps happening so they can recommend a product that will not cause static which means I would have to purchase again.
