I received a gift card from my friends for my birthday of $165 for a Deluxe Treatment. As you walk in Scalp Bar, its super inviting and modern. You fill out a brief questionnaire and get a choice of scents to choose from. For long hair (mine goes to my back bra strap) is extra. There is also a couple of extra items you can add on to. After the questionnaire, I was taken to a seat at a chair that is located in the main area. The hair dresser took pictures of my scalp and then gave me recommendation to add additional items if you wish. (they use Kerastase products) She brushed my hair and gave me a very nice scalp and neck/shoulder massage. I just wished it would have been in the back room where there was less noise. Then we went in the back room and I laid on this super comfy massage table (the massage table massages your entire body), under eye mask was placed and an eye mask over my eyes and a soft comfy blanket was placed on me. HEAVEN. She put all these treatments on my scalp and hair and I got a scalp and neck massage. Then we proceed to the main area where she blow dry my hair. Filled out a short questionnaire and then came Super Star Sarah F. who extended her hand to shake. Coming from the bay and covid, people don't do this and truly love this as I love this. Sarah explained to me how it works, saw the heavy buildup on my scalp. She walked me to the back room where nice relaxing music is playing overhead. As I climbed in the massage chair, boy did I felt so took a sedative to relax and make me feel at ease. Perhaps the scent or eye mask but truly enjoyed it. I got the hair damage scalp treatment. Katie was my guide to relaxation and she was amazing. The pressure of the massage was just right and her demeanor was calming. The scalp analysis was cool! So weird to see a part of my body up close and gross lol. During the consultation, another client was loudly on the phone. And at some point during the initial neck/shoulder rub, there was a bunch of loud laughter. Not a biggie, but the general feel of the place is supposed to be relaxing. I saw my girl, Katie, shoot some looks and the quiet calm returned. No fault of the bar but I'm below average height (4'10.5"), so the massage chair wasn't always comfortable. I said I was charged on my first visit but didn't notice until I got home. On my second visit, I specifically asked to skip the blow-dry TO AVOID being charged again. Your claim that you "pulled up my previous appointment" confirms exactly what I said - I WAS charged before. So why are you claiming I said I wasn't? Regarding the blow-dry: I asked Sara to skip it. She said it was "already included" and insisted on doing a partial blow-dry so I could finish at home. Your camera footage apparently shows she used a blow dryer exactly as I described. I never claimed she "fully skipped" it. I said I ASKED her to skip it to avoid the charge, and she did a partial job because according to her, I was being charged regardless (it was included). Now you claim the surcharge is "not optional" and based on a "professional evaluation" during the initial assessment. But neither Nikkia nor Sara discussed this evaluation or charge with me before services began. That's the entire problem. If this charge is truly non-optional based on your professional assessment, you have an obligation to inform clients verbally during consultation and obtain their CONSENT before proceeding. I was skeptical. I've never been to a scout bar before. Sara and Edith were super nice and polite. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door by the concierge. They had soft music playing, which was very relaxing. We were told what was gonna be happening and walk through everything step-by-step the entire time. The massage was minimal on our neck and back. We were hoping for a little bit longer, but it was fine because we got massage beds to lay on while our scouts for being massaged. The water was the right temperature. Such a nice experience. Booked a session through classpass for the regular head massage. You get checked in and fill out some paperwork to choose your customizations. You choose an aromatherapy scent and the pressure or massage you like. Then you go sit down and get some pictures taken of your scalp. After you go over recommendations you get a very quick, maybe one minute, shoulder massage. Then you head back for your head spa. The bed is a massage chair basically, which is pretty nice. After your massage is done you get secondary pictures of your scalp to see the difference. Overall it was a relaxing hour! read more

Wonderful service start to finish. Open area in the front as they check your scalp with a camera and then they do a essential oil treatment, neck and shoulder massage to get you relaxed. Then they do a oil scalp massage. It is a calm, relaxing, and peaceful space. Once the oil treatment is done they bring you to a private room in the back. Before I began my scalp specialist double checked all ingredients in al the products to insure there was no gluten or coconut. Multiple steps and types of hair treatments are done. I laied down in an amazing full body massage chair from shoulders to toes I felt like a new person. They dont explain the process unless you ask and I just enjoyed the experience and asked as she was drying my hair what products were used and how often to come back. Sometimes you're in the mood for a relaxing day and the Scalp Bar will provide you just that! I booked an appointment online and was seen by my stylist, Niki. She was so sweet, easy conversation and had great touch with my hair. I booked the basic treatment - which is now $100 - and added on the chroma gloss ($11) + longer than waist length hair ($25, not advertised on their menu and I'm not sure if my hair goes past my waist..). The process is pretty uniform to other appointments I've had here. They greet you, sit you down to talk about your hair/any concerns, go over options and take you back for the wash and scalp massage. I'm pretty sure I doze off every time during these.. they're just so relaxing! To finish off the appointment, they'll make you some hot tea or bring water, blow dry your hair and you are off to take on the day. There are a few things different than when they first opened: 1. prices have increased just a bit (basic which was $85 is now $100), 2. they have a loyalty card (though I'm not sure if they advertise or offer it to customers often) and 3. it looks like they offer more products to buy in store (they even have a case full of Nutrafol and cold drinks like coconut water in a mini fridge). I really do appreciate that they have your service card filled out and ready for you to complete when you arrive; it's a simple thing that makes the customer coming in feel appreciated and seen. I booked online and read reviews thoroughly and chose the person I wanted to meet with for my first time. I had to move my schedule around to fit within her time slots open, but made it work. Upon arriving they took the liberty to swap me to someone else and stated that the other person isn't in all the time (weird when they have an online booking schedule). She did the dog and pony show everyone around me was doing - this is your scalp - these are the upsell items you should buy etc. I took one upsell, but not the rest. When we went into the back room where you are in the chamber for the treatment it was not what I had in mind. It was relaxing at first, the lady said "see you after the treatment." I thought she was leaving, but she stayed and I guess that was the signal that she was going to stop talking. Anyway, the massage was probably 6 rubs with her thumb - like when you ask your boyfriend for a back massage and he couldn't want to do anything less. The marketing has all the steps as grandiose but in reality they are very minor parts. I told her I had a wedding coming up and then she talked the whole time about hers, instead of the whole "See you after your treatment." It was entertaining, but not what I was hoping for. The hair part was where she shined, she took almost 45 mins on my blowout and my hair sin't long. She was very passionate about the hair part so I could tell she came from that side and the massaging/scalp part was just checking boxes. In the end, I think it matters who you see, and as you can see, its not possible to pick. Lastly, the lady that checked me out was a snobby gal. Instead of taking my card, swiping it and letting me go, she kept greeting and checking people in while I was just standing there holding my credit card. Bye. As soon as I sat down on the chair, the service person tried to up sale. She tried her best but $180 is already over my budget. My spa day was already ruined. I was so disappointed after my treatment. Because my back side of head was not washed properly. I had to wash my hair at home again. I saw the before and after pictures. My esty didn't do the before or after pics even though I had never been to their business before. My bestie and I were able to be in the same treatment room but both experienced the same, sad treatment. We both felt like we spent like 15 minutes in the treatment room and the rest of the time blow drying our hair. You go back to a room after some initial treatments and your head is massaged for like 45 minutes while you're on a full body massager amazing!!! I really need to see how I can fit this in my budget to do it every month. They have a package that you can get for this.
