Ramen shoyu with chasu pork, and extra pork. Thick noodles

    - Very comfortable and clean interior - Food is delicious, filling, and reasonably priced - Service is fast and accurate Amazing, chill spot for katsu curry and ramen, and other Asian staples. Hard recommend for everyone in the area to either eat in and refresh up or takeout.

This place is definitely one of my favorite poke bowl spots near Rutgers! The fish is always super fresh and I love the portion of toppings that they give you. Great quality food for a good price and the owners are very friendly.

SUPER satisfied with this place! Prices are great, the owner is super sweet and accommodating, and obviously the food is incredible! Our group got the Japanese nachos which were beautiful and delicious as well as the miso ramen, the curry ramen, spicy miso ramen, the signature beef noodle soup, and an order of California rolls. The broths were piping hot (just as I like it) and super flavorful. They have such a huge assortment of items on the menu so I'm very excited to come back many more times to try it all!

So good! Came here with my friend for dinner; I ordered shrimp tempura sushi (which was absolutely delicious), and my friend ordered miso ramen (seen in picture). While the food was amazing, the service was even better. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and were treated so kindly for our entire meal. Very nice and neat place, super lovely overall. Thank you for a great experience! We will definitely be back more often.

Menu was limited for events which is fine, our party leader pre-ordered for all tables. I don't eat sushi / shellfish so unfortunately I can't comment on that part of the meal. We had chicken lettuce wraps, spring rolls & calamari for apps (sorry forgot to take pix). For hot items we had shrimp fried rice, Thai basil shrimp, sesame chicken & pepper beef (allegedly made with filet mignon). Main comments are on the chicken & beef. Sesame chicken was hit or miss with tender or very chewy. Same for lettuce wraps. Beef was cooked well done (which is a shame if it was filet) & also had chewy pieces. Flavor was good however. Sushi eaters seemed to enjoy that but both shrimp dishes weren't finished. Other main comment is we had booths on one side, wooden chairs on the other at our tables. I sat in a chair which became very uncomfortable after a short time. Bummer as the place itself is modern & inviting. Finally, service for our party was good, didn't see any issues.

That sadly was the best part of the night. We ordered; 8 AYCE and 2 ordered ala carte. My wife's vegetarian and doesn't eat much and my mom doesn't eat raw sushi and ordered the teriyaki shrimp. 1. The service is horrible. We waited 20mins to get our first appetizers. The waitress just dropped off plates and didn't explain what they were. My mom noticed the table next to us ordered what she got and a few minutes later, the waitress asked if she received her entree, which she replied no, and then she went to the table next to us and grabbed their plate and brought it back to the kitchen. We assume they reheated and replated the dish because it was way overcooked. 2. Long wait. Some items didn't arrived after over an hour and we asked about them multiple times. As we were ordering our 2nd round, we just reordered them. We got our waters refilled often but they never checked in to see if we were receiving our food or if we wanted to order more. Like they didn't ask one time. 3. Lost in translation. My parents are immigrants, so I am pretty understanding but the waitress didn't understand much of what I was saying and when I asked for extra ginger while pointing at it she looked very confused. I also asked her what a few items were when she brought them, and she didn't respond. 4. 10% coupon: don't bother trying to use the 10% off coupon from their own website. When we asked for the check, I showed her the coupon and she looked confused like I made it up and I let her know it was from their website under "coupons". She went to the back to ask about it and returned to say it was for online orders only. I mentioned that the coupon doesn't have any fine print except it can't be used with any other offers, and she didn't try to help at all which was frustrating. At the end of the day, it was probably one of the worst meals I've ever had. The food quality was ok except for my mom getting a reheated meal. But the service was terrible. It sucks to have to wait so long for food and things coming out randomly and my son and wife waiting over an hour for their items while others are pretty much done. Save yourself the aggravation and try something else.

We also tried the spicy pepper noodle dish, which had a really nice kick without the spice overpowering everything else. The sweet potato tempura was another highlight. It was crispy on the outside, soft and slightly sweet inside, and a great appetizer to share before the noodles. I also got the carrot ginger juice and really enjoyed it. It was made fresh! Overall, Roots is a great option in Princeton when you're craving Thai food, especially if you like bold flavors and a little heat. There are plenty of vegetarian-friendly choices too, which I appreciated. I'd definitely come back!

It's located in a strip mall and all the customers were non-asian...that should have been a sign. The Hot and Sour Soup and Wonton Soups were just OK. A bit salty for my taste actually. The LoMein noodles with shrip were a disappointment @ $20 per bowl. The noodles were overcooked with too much water remaining in the bowl it was served in. The shrimp was not high quality, and there were minimal vegetables in the dish. Overall, not worth the asking price. I'm not from the Princeton area which has a wealth of ethnic cuisine, but unfortunately would not be one I'd recommend.
