Turtles, chocolate covered smores, chocolate covered nutter butter, chocolate covered oreos, almond bark, peppermint bark JUST for starters!

I'm not a huge sweets fan, but this place is AWESOME!. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff that explain everything to you. Very forthcoming with the samples too. They have TONS of chocolate candies to offer and also 5 or 6 gelato flavors. We bought a chocolate turtle, chocolate covered s'more, chocolate covered nutter butter (yes, you read that right!), a chocolate dipped oreo, and two scoops of their gelato. This place is literally located across the street from Paris Hatters if you know where that is. I'm not knocking them a star for this but be aware they only have one table and two lounge chairs if you want to hang out there and the pinche tourists usually squat on those for hours lol! I was really impressed with the fact that their young staff had so much knowledge about all the products - you can ask them ANYTHING. They also have many custom crafted chocolate designs, etc. for gifts - for Easter, graduations, etc. You must check this place out!

I went here for a chocolate making class, I found a great deal on Groupon which introduced me to this place. The class was great and we got to make a variety of things to take home. The chocolate shop also has a great selection, it was cool to see how they make everything.

Enjoying Schakolad chocolate covered strawberries back in my hotel room!

I have been asking the chocolate stores all over downtown for chocolate covered strawberries, and their answer is always you have to order a day in advance, then when I stumbled into this chocolate store, I was greeted by the refreshing Rebecca, who told me she would make them and I could wait, which is what I did! They are delicious!

As a child, my favorite thing to do with a box of chocolates was to eat the bottoms to sample an entire box of chocos giving the appearance that the box was untouched. (Yeah, I was kinda a turd.) I've always loved chocolates but there no way the sampling technique works here... Just too yum! I knew this place was opening soon and through a favorite past-time called getting lost in my city... I stumbled upon it after Saturday coffee biking. Deborah, the owner, is just the nicest. The store front has a wide assortment of unique chocolate gifts that can be custom made. And chocolate is being made behind the counter! The fantastic part are the prices. Way reasonable and you can pick out whatever assortment you like. I walked out with just two pieces for under $2.50. Coffee. Ice cream. Fudge. You drooling yet? Talk to your inner chubby child but take your sophisticated self.

Limited review. Last night we dined at Nectar Wine Bar & Ale House and for dessert they offered Schakolad's chocolate truffles. OMG to die for!!! Godiva is second rate compared to Schakolad's truffles. We loved them so much that next time we're in San Antonio we will be stopping in to satisfy our chocolate cravings directly. We greatly enjoyed both the Dark Chocolate Ganache truffles and the Macadamia Nut truffles.

Oh sweet Schakolade- your beautifully decorated morsels are a spectacle and a delight. Deborah welcomed all the tourists and regulars alike- engaging and warm. Here's where she uses chocolate for what it intended- the power to heal and make people happy. Like the nearby Alamo this excellent establishment will be a mainstay at San Antonio. Each of their products are super Fresh because that's how they do it here. The place is clean and spacious. Service is impeccable. Chocolate seriously delicious- and all beautifully decorated.

Came here during a girls day out with mom, daughter and niece in San Antonio because my sister-in-law LOVES chocolate and toured their other factory in Florida drove 4 1/2 hours to come visit this place! I must say it was actually pretty fun. I especially liked all the creative things that they make out of chocolate and how you can "build your own" box of chocolates. They have such an assortment to choose from: milk, dark, sugar free, nuts and covered fruits. My favorite was the coconut macaroons in dark chocolate. Call me a heathen but in moderation dark chocolate, sex, alcohol and two vacations a year are actually proven to be a heart healthy lifestyle! If you need validation too, I read that in book called "Beat the Heart Attack Gene"-by Bale and Doneen.

Everything is excellent full of flavor and quality ingredients. All house made except sugar free. Staff is gracious and inviting.

The first time I visited, the shop was completely empty with no customers or staff in sight. I waited for ten minutes during which time I snapped some really great photos of the place for Yelp, but ended up leaving when no one ever came out. The café was cute and had their monkey mascot everywhere from murals to plushies, the pastries in the case looked yummy, the dark chocolate samples from around the world were interesting to try, and I really liked the idea of making my own chocolate like they advertised so I decided to try again another day. Unfortunately, the café is a little more out of the way and free parking in the downtown area is limited so it made it difficult to return as soon as I'd hoped to. On the second visit there were two customers and a single manager in shop, and I finally got to order. I opted for their Matcha Latte with Hazelnut which was, at first, okay at best. It was pretty smooth for the first half of the drink or so but was grassy in flavor, and the Hazelnut was dark chocolate like the rest of their chocolates in shop, so beware if you like a milkier chocolate flavor. I would have been less harsh on this drink if it wasn't for the fast that towards the end I ended up sipping a HUGE clump of unblended matcha. It was so bad I ended up pouring out the last of the drink to assess the unmixed matcha situation and was even more appalled to see the bottom of the cup. A few matcha flecks? Fine. But I've NEVER had so much matcha caked down at the bottom of a drink before this one. It was insulting that the manager who made this drink thought this was okay. As an ex-barista, I've said this before and I'll say it again: If you don't know how to make a drink, it does not need to be on your menu. It doesn't matter if you specialize in coffee and chocolate, that does not give you a pass on the other things. If it's on your menu, you need to know how to make it. 5 Stars for aesthetic, 2 Stars for the second worst matcha beverage I've had in my life.

This shop sells fudge, truffles, candied apples, and - what I came for - ice cream! They had a lot of ice cream flavors to choose from, a least a couple dozen. The smiling young woman working behind the ice cream counter offered to give tastes, but I had already figured out which flavors I wanted. I chose two scoops in a cup, one of Cappucino Chip and the other Turtle Cheesecake. They have several tables to sit at, some along a hallway and more in a back room. I took a seat and was in awe of the huge scoops given. The Cappuccino Chip had a mild flavor (I prefer it stronger) but a fair number of tiny chocolate chips. The Turtle Cheesecake had an excellent cheesecake flavor with swirls of caramel, praline pecans, and caramel-filled mini turtles. I'm usually not fond of nuts in my ice cream but I actually enjoyed the pralines. In my humble opinion, there were too few turtles. But I still loved it. If you're in the mood for a cold, creamy treat while visiting the Alamo, you'll find this to be the perfect place to visit.
