I got taro, lavender, and chocolate Oreo, and they were all so delicious and creamy. The portions were generous, and the price felt very fair for what you get. (They have a flight!!!) I also love the local, small, family-owned business vibe. The owners were very friendly, which made the experience even better. My only wish is that they stayed open later on Sundays. Right now, they close at 3 PM, and I would love to be able to stop by for ice cream on my way back to Austin in the late afternoon. I can't wait to go back and try more flavors and next time I will bring a big cooler to bring more back home! read more

B+W had classic flavors like strawberry, but the majority were non traditional or a variation of classics. Noemi had a charcoal Mexican vanilla and cookie monster (a blue cookies and cream). Noah had a two scoop cookie monster in a charcoal waffle cone, my mom tried a honey and sweet corn bread. I had a cup with a scoop of lavender Milk Tea over a scoop of ube. None of those flavors disappointed. They could make shakes, an affogato, and others ice cream styles. But I just wanted to try their unique flavors and was impressed. The customers kept coming.You can get your ice cream in a cup or various cone styles. If you are in the vicinity of the Witte, this creamery is not a bad place to stop by. It was close to my grandma's and the kids were game to try something new. Such a cute little ice cream shop on Broadway! Was immediately greeted as soon as we walked in and flavors were explained. Everything is made in house and have very unique flavors. The inside is small with few seats but really liked the wall designs and the place was well kept/clean. The service was great and the people were really nice. They gave us some samples to try and even some of this lavender flavor one that wasnt ready to be served (more for future option if we come back). They offer different flavors, including glutten free options. I ended up getting the coffee and coconut scope and they were delicious. Very creamy and sweet. I liked the coconut bits in my ice cream and would get it again. It was far from where I was staying but if I'm in the area again I would definitely come back and try the other flavors too. I knew this place was going to hit upon walking in based on the music alone. I was greeted immediately and the gentleman behind the counter was super nice (the owners brother). He explained the different flavors and I tried 3, the lavender milk tea, black vanilla and honey cornbread. All were equally delicious but lavender has me in a chokehold right now. I ordered 1 scoop of lavender milk tea which is also one of their gluten free options in a waffle bowl (it's black because they use charcoal). This is one of the best lavender ice creams I've ever tried. It's creamy, just enough sweetness and the lavender isn't overwhelming. The cone was crispy and crunchy and didn't get soggy from the ice cream. It also didn't melt too fast either. I'll be waiting for their ube and matcha flavors... you can follow their Instagram for new flavors. They also have a rewards program so make sure you sign up. Tried this place on a Friday evening and it was a great experience. The customer service was great, the ice cream was great, and we were able to sit outside in the nice weather. What more could you ask for? The nice man at the register did warn us that ordering the one scoop comes with basically two scoops, but we ordered two scoops anyway and it was way too much! Getting ice cream at Black+White Modern Creamery is such a fun experience because they are always experimenting with new flavors. Their classics are great, too: oreo chocolate, honey and cornbread, and their signature black vanilla. (They offer black cones, too.) It's a tiny, narrow store tucked in the Boardwalk shopping center, but there are shady paths to walk and views of the San Antonio River winding through Brackenridge Park. When you order one scoop, you get a generous serving in a polka dot cup; the two scoop serving is even more generous.
