Good call because one square was the perfect amount for dinner. And now we have a few meals to heat up for the next few days. The drinks were excellent and the pizza was outstanding. Great flavor. At times you get way more of one ingredient than the rest and there is just an imbalance in the flavor like they have an overstock of one ingredient they need to get rid of. Being honest, I don't know what started this trend of "more food than you can possibly eat", but it's "a thing" now, so what can you do? Buy it, and share or save half for later. But, back to the steak. I'd say the closest competitor that I'm aware of would be High Steaks in Ambler, but in terms of meat to cheese ratio and flavor, I'm giving Verona the edge. In fact, I'd say it's the best or tied with the best cheesesteak I've ever eaten, and I'm old - so that's saying a lot. So we've got a great a steak that will easily serve two, a friendly staff, and prices within the realm of what you'd expect for August 2026. In addition to those tangible things, I take some joy in seeing that the choke hold once around the wallets of locals by that other place that shares it's name with it's location, has finally been broken.
