After evaluating my Ford I was told that there was a Technical Bulletin that came out from Ford several years ago. I am impressed that they did the research to evaluate my car. They told me I did NOT NEED A TRANSMISSION. I only needed an update on the vehicle computer. Here's the numbers. Ford wanted $3500 for a rebuilt transmission. A new transmission was $6000. Final cost at Scotty's $150 to evaluate $250 to upload the new software Total $400.00 Can't say enough good things about this place. Talk about trusting a Mecanic!!! The next morning, the chipper superhero (we will call him Trailblazer) optimistically announced to the family that he had found some fellow superheroes of the tire world at Tire Discount Center. He headed out while the fam cuddled in for some Scooby Do cartoons, and was back within 30 min. The team dropped everything they were doing, lifted the camper while attached to the car, and had those tires replaced in a matter of minutes (Trailblazer approximates 12 minutes). What a great team! When they tell you what is wrong with your car, treat their word like gold. They stand behind their parts and labor. Only mechanic I'll ever deal with. My in laws, from Florida, had car trouble in Florida, they had a computer problem. The brand name garage that they brought their car to for service, kept the car for over a month, replaced the computer (they replaced the computer twice first time they claimed they bought the wrong one and the second time said they had to reprogram the computer),spark plugs, coils, engine mounts and many other parts in Hallandale Florida, only to have the car limp to NJ . They were told by every mechanic they went to, their best bet was to junk the car, get rid of it, and it was no good, not worth fixing. I took the car to A-Tec auto and Joe and Mike inspected the car, diagnosed it correctly, told of how much it would cost, repaired the car and the car arrived safely back in Florida today without any issues. You won't find more honest, knowledgeable mechanics in Sussex County NJ. I would highly recommend this garage as the place to go in Vernon NJ and surrounding areas.
