One of the best breweries, ever. Their beer is fantastic; lots of pilsners. Their pizza is awesome as well. My favorite is the Roadhouse. That's found in the pub (red building). The black building is their shop and tasting room and has nice, chill seating inside and out. Mill St Kitchen is their newest addition (yellow building) where you order everything at the bar then grab a table. Their smash burger and schnitzel burger are amazing. My friends and I were staying in Carol and made it up late. We were able to make it over to Littleton for dinner. This place was so quaint and had such a good beer list. I had the Hefeweizen beer and my friends had two others. They came in really cool glasses. We all got a pizza, but they were very large and would have been easy to split. I had the sausage pizza and it was delicious. My friends and I really liked the beer glasses and were able to buy them after. The tall one was $10 and the cool mug was $12. Our server, Sarah, was super nice and great in helping us pick out the glasses. I would highly recommend having her as your server. They are right next to the river and had their brewery right next door. I would definitely want to come back in the day time because this place seems like it would be great during the day. read more

Visited Schilling with our family Sunday night and it did not disappoint! We were immediately impressed with the location views and walked to covered bridge right next door before our visit. Grabbed a late dinner of pizza and beer on Saturday night. The beer is good...lots of hoppy offerings as they specialize in Czech style beers. I managed to find a less hoppy Saison while hubby ordered a Belgian tripple that was also very good. Had the Roundhouse pizza with jalapeños and a maple syrup drizzle -- excellent choice! Our server was lovely and attentive, checking on us a few times to make sure we were not too cold and having the heaters turned on for us. So nice we had to come twice! Our first night in Littleton, we went to the tap room for dinner and drinks and were basically hooked. We took it easy on drinks but went a little crazy on the food. Started off with the hummus (oh my god...) and got the veggie pizza, the buffalo chicken pizza and the chicken maple bacon pizza. Before you marvel at our super human stomachs please know we left with a pizza and a half as leftovers. Everything was so incredible! The hummus was so flavorful and I could have eaten an entire plate of the bread they came with. The chicken maple bacon pizza stole the show and was almost like a little dessert it was so sweet. We ate inside but they have plenty of big picnic tables outside and you can't beat the view. The river on one side, the covered bridge on the other. This is a VERY cool spot. On our next visit, we got a great table on the deck of the tasting room right on the river. While I am not a big beer person, the guy in the tasting room was so incredibly kind and helpful. He let me taste a few until I found one that I really liked. After that, my boyfriend and I decided to just get a flight and try a bunch. Down the list of 6 they were all amazing. Their winter quadrupel, Doxology, was packed with rich bourbon flavor, but fair warning packed too much of a punch to drive home on if you intend to finish. Swinging back to Maine then home to Tucson. Staying at the haunted Thayer Inn built in 1843. Right behind it on the river is an old grist mill turned into a brewery. We ate dinner and sampled their wares. We shared a pepperoni pizza cooked in wood fired oven. It was cooked perfect, well done. This was one amazing time with family. After doing the Mount Washington Auto Road and missing lunch, we were ravenously hungry as we traveled towards Littleton NH, a town Edith which which we fell in love a couple of months ago. We had visited Schilling, but they don't accept family pets in their outside area. So this time, given the warm weather, we left Tango at home with his sitter and came up to visit the microbrew. There are two distinct places within the same venue. The main restaurant area serves pizza and pretzels and beer; steps away from the outside veranda is a food truck that sells other food items such as burgers. If we had wanted burgers, for example, we could have crossed a rope, got the burgers and return to our table. But as we had heard about their delicious pizza, we decided to eat there. The one and only place we felt uncomfortable was at the reception, lots of people milling around, all with face masks, however. Once we talked to the receptionist, we put our names in, gave them our phone number, and were told that we'd have about a forty minute wait and they'd text us when the table was ready. We went across the pedestrian covered bridge feet away from the brewpub, and admired the stunning river scenery. After a half hour, we decided to walk back and within feet of the place, we got the text that the tables were ready. We were seated in a veranda overlooking both, the river and the brewhouse balconies. Beautiful sight. The waitresses and busboys were busy sanitizing tables. We started our fairs with delicious IPAs and their soft Pretzels - amazing. Really amazing. We had ordered a plate of their Hummus - delicious. We quickly devoured both appetizers. The main course was three smaller pizzas to share among three people. First was the Buffalo chicken pizza, definitely a rating of A+. Then we had the Loaded Pizza, which rated a loud "OMG, this is awesome!". Lastly, a vegetarian pizza. Also delicious. Service was superb. And we also felt good patronizing a fine restaurant in the midst of a pandemic while they not only provided excellent food but also took care of their customers' safety and health. read more

Like good craft beer? Like wood fired food? Then this is your place! This little gem is nestled behind the shops of Littleton's Main Street overlooking the Ammonoosuc River. I had the Landbier Dunkel, a low alcohol(4.2%) dark German lager and my sister had the Alexander IPA. Both were delicious! For a dark beer the Landbier was somewhat light and didn't leave me overfull. We shared the twisted pretzel which, IMO, is a must have appetizer or snack. The pretzel is a thick, twisted version of their dough that is lightly salted and baked to perfection in the wood fired oven. It is served with their own house made dips: a beer cheese dip and sweet mustard sauce. Both were so good it was hard not to ask for a spoon to eat them sans the pretzel. The pizza here is SO good. Schilling's pizza is so good that I am very positive they flew their pizza stove in from Italy or had some state of the art features built. The dough is thin, soft and yet crunchy. We came here twice (which we never do when traveling) to order their pizza. We ordered the Vegetarian and Pastoral pizza. Both were flavorful, generously portioned, delicious and well made. If you don't feel like eating pizza, Schilling's has a self serve section. You can order from their food truck and seat yourself. My husband ordered a bunch of 7 oz beers from the menu. He likes Porter and Stout beers. His favorite here was the Kamarade. We ate at several restaurants (and breweries) during our Northeast road trip, and Schilling had the best ambiance of them all. There is a large outdoor area that overlooks the river and the views are just outstanding. Look to one side and you'll see a beautiful mill. On the other you'll see a gorgeous covered bridge. Though it was hard to get a spot on the waterside of the patio there was still plenty of outdoor dining space in the front.The actual brewery is also gorgeous, and I loved the modern farmhouse vibes. I sampled a bit of everything in a flight and loved it all. So much so that after eating we headed into the merchandise shop to pick up a few four packs along with a beautiful snifter glass. The menu isn't huge and is mostly pizzas -- can't go wrong with that though! My hubs and I split a veggie pizza and it had lots of fresh toppings and feta which is always a hit. We also took a plain pie to go. It was really good but tasted exactly like a Dominoes pie. Not exactly a bad thing... but interesting. There are many breweries in the area, but the waterfront views and extensive beer selection really sets Schilling apart from the rest. Absolutely worth the visit! read more

Really disappointed in the way they manage the tasting room versus restaurant. My suggestion would be to close your restaurant dining since you can't seat a party of 2 within 1.5 hours of waiting on a weekend, since your staff is so overwhelmed with to-go orders for parties next door at the tasting room. Become a to-go food service restaurant and extend your beer garden seating. We arrived to check in for a table for lunch around 12:40pm, very understandable that there was a 35 minute wait as it was lunch time on a Saturday. We put our name and number down, and went next door to have a beer at the tasting room. I gave an additional 20 or so minutes past to be understandable as it's a weekend before we went to check in. Checked back in with the restaurant side around 1:35pm and were told it would be another 10 minutes until a table. At this point, we left because we no longer had the available time to sit and order and wait for food. It is now 2:15pm and we have yet to receive our promised text or call when our table would be ready. Almost 3x past the stated wait time we were given. What aggravates us about our visit the most is it seems the restaurant has this immense wait because everyone at the tasting room orders food to go from the kitchen - which would be okay if that could've been explained to us at the beginning and that would've made them an additional $50+ in revenue + tips for their staff. Unfortunately, we are visiting and this was not even given as an option. Halfway through our tasting room wait I considered ordering to go but didn't want to be disrespectful to the staff since we put our name in to dine. The beer was great, aggravated at the lack of service surrounding their restaurant side. Sad we couldn't have a better experience here as the location/vibes/beer was all 10/10. Road tripping and saw reviews of this quaint town so off we went. The first thing you notice is there historic downtown with the rapid river running alongside the town. Noticed a nice patio build out overlooking the water view and located it. It's was 2 buildings. One was the restaurant and original building of the brewery and than the newest building housing the brewery production and taste house. I entered and ordered their IPA and headed to the patio to Inhale the breathtaking view. As I sat waiting for that time of refreshing..I noticed the IPA was so light and fresh. I would have to say one of the best I have had. It has to be the spring water! . Schilling Beer has gotten a little too big for its britches. Customer service is now terrible, starting outside at the walk-up hostess station. We put our name in and when called for seating, it was for the wrong location we asked for. We were then told to get the seating we originally wanted, the wait time was as before, so to get the table we wanted, it would take twice the time. We opted for outdoor seating which was what we did not want but we took it anyway. We sat at the inside bar to wait and have a beer and if Ms Bartender had any personality or smile, she didn't want to share it with us. We have been regulars there for years prior to Covid because we have a second home in the area then couldn't go back after Covid for medical reasons, so this was our first visit for a couple years and Schilling Beer has changed and not for the better. Even the Brautwerst was not up to past experiences. Now, one brautwerst instead of two as before. Guess Brautwerts has gotten more expensive with cutting the order in half. My brother and I came here after a long day of hiking in the White Mountains. We came to Schilling at the suggestion of our neighbor and this place did NOT disappoint. First, the beer is incredible. They offer an array of different beer styles for all beer enthusiasts to enjoy. Second, the food is delicious. The twisted pretzel is served straight from heaven. It's hot and buttery and I'm pretty sure they sprinkle crack on top because I'm itching for another taste. The beer cheese and assortment of other cheeses were also nice. Even the green beans were incredible. It's bizarre. Would come back again just to eat. But the real star of the show is Bernard. He's a knowledgeable and friendly bartender who clearly has a passion for what he does. He sold us on several beers that were all amazing and his descriptions and stories were spot on. Visiting Littleton, NH, for the first time, I looked on Yelp for dinner suggestions. Schilling stood out with rave reviews. I am happy to add yet another five star review! So thank you Yelpers for guidance! The restaurant made reservations very efficient and easy by having the Yelp reservation option. I put in the request to be seated by the river, if possible, and when we arrived, the friendly hostess addressed me by name and said she had immediately seen my Yelp reservation and saved us a riverside table! That was delightful! I am not a beer drinker but two people in our group of four are. One loves IPA and said her "Combover" ($7) hit the spot. The other beer aficionado ordered a flight (see photo) and had fun trying the different types of beer. For a starter we ordered the Artisan Brie Plate. (See photo). I wasn't sure what "quince paste" was. It turned out to be a tangy marmalade-like jam that tasted wonderful with the brie. We also got the German Bratwursts (excellent and a perfect pairing with the beer) and Wood Fired Pizza (thin crispy crust and delicious sauce and cheese). It was amazing too. We stopped at "Schilling Beer" because everywhere around the town were about to be close. It was a weeknight so I figured. We stopped by this place around like 10ish. It was still a little busy, but we did find seating at the bar. We all ordered some of their beer to try it out. I told my friends that we should chug our beer for the first round. Whoever is last pay the bill. Of course, I win. Funny thing is we didn't know it was a family own business that we can't do that. Good news is that bartender or service was nice enough. We dined outside in their patio area for lunch. Boy, what a view of the river! You can order food at the food truck (more burgers, and hot dogs type) and bring it over, or order from the restaurant menu (more pizza type) and beer. We were a party of 4 adults and 3 kids and fit comfortably in the patio area that overlooks the river. If you are coming with kids, would recommend getting some fries from the food truck to hold the kids over while you order the pizza. My daughter and her friend (aged 4) greatly enjoyed them! Almost five years later and I finally had a chance to revisit, and I'm upgrading to a top-block. Just an outstanding choice for food and drinks in the area! Not a bad beer to be found in the probably ten or so that we tried, and the Belgians were top-notch. The Doxology is really fantastic, with a good strong flavor, and the Erastus is an excellent Tripel. I'd love to see their stuff get wider distribution! In terms of food, go straight for the pizzas and you just can't miss. I'm partial to the Chicken Maple Bacon and the Roundhouse because my love for maple syrup know no bounds. Apple on a pizza may seem strange (on the chicken maple bacon), but the tartness from the granny smith cuts the sweetness of the syrup and just works wonders. On the Roundhouse the spicy-sweet combo is perfect. Not too spicy, but just enough kick to make it tasty. The North Country and Pastoral were both great as well, but the maple on the other two really set them apart for me. Of course the location is great, and they've added both outdoor seating, and a shop in the building next door. Really just a great choice if you're in the area. read more

I'm so happy they opened a taproom! I've been coming here for the past few years and we've had to change plans when they've been too busy for a large group. This past weekend we came with a group of 15 and we waited in the taproom instead of being squished by the bar in the restaurant. Huge difference! We had two tables and waited about 30 minutes. It would have been nice to be seated together (we usually are upstairs) but it worked out fine. The pizzas are all delicious and the beer are good as well!
