The waiter and the staff were really quite funny, especially in light of what I would describe as the drunkest woman in Switzerland annoying everyone, staff, customers, any one who walked away from their food. We were there from Christmas Eve through the 30th and had the most magical Christmas. They brought a mini Christmas tree up to our room upon request so we could have an authentic Christmas morning with our kids. Staff reached out months prior to find out our son's names and then Father Christmas himself handed out personalized gifts to every child using their full names at a Christmas gathering. Even for the adults was a once in a lifetime experience. Skiing from this hotel location is a Breeze. Couldn't be a better location. The views are incredible. The pool table was one of the huge highlights of our stay. Food is amazing. Breakfast easy and divine. Can't say enough. You meet the owners and their family. You feel the love and care they put into the place. We've told everyone it's a place you must visit!

On the phone they had said the kitchen closed at 9:30, but when I arrived no one attended my table until 8:58, when the waitress rushed over and told me the kitchen closes at 9. Meanwhile, the table next to me placed their order at 9:15 without issue. There was no silverware on the table, and I was never checked on once after my food arrived, which was very frustrating. The most frustrating part is that my meal for one person, including the dish and two glasses of wine, was $50 Franks. For that price, I expect far better quality. I expect better, truly. I remember it being a lot better and maybe it was what we ordered or a different chef out of season. It was still pretty popular with locals. There is a self service buffet option or table service. We had the goulash which came with or without sausages. The goulash by itself was about 10 Swiss francs and had a small amount of beef in it and was quite thin, not the goulash I was hoping for. With sausages it was better and was more like 18 Swiss francs and a full lunch. We opted for the spicy sausages which you get two of for 7.50 and they come with mustard. This made this taste more like goulash to me but I thought it was pretty expensive for the quality as it tasted mostly tinned. The view is nice here and there is a play park for kids and mountain side outdoor seating.

Surrounded by one of the most incredible panoramas you are ever going to see, this restaurant/bar/pub is situated on the Winteregg station between Grutschalp and Murren. A really great little circuit from Lauterbrunnen. There are loads of tables both inside and out, a kids playground, an incredible view (did I mention that?) and wonderful staff serving wonderful food. At weekends, the local Oompah band turns up and plays for an hour or so. There is a mixture of great traditional Swiss food together with more mainstream crap for the kids who don't want to partake. You can even get a raw Wurst and barbecue it on a stick on the open fire yourself. When the skies are blue and the sun is out, this is a truly superb place to while away a few hours. Just make sure you bring your suncream and camera.
