At the recommendation of a friend, she said they have great salads. This location on 528 has been there for so long and has Cinnabon too. So they had three options. I chose a chicken Cobb. They had a strawberry salad too which looked appealing and figured I would try it next time if the salad I purchased was good. The salad was huge! Mixed greens, cucumber, tomato, bacon, avocado, egg, croutons, big pieces of good chicken and some bread. I thought I was hungry but I could barely get through half of it. I'd say that they should add two more containers of dressing but I had extra at home. It was $10 and change and I think well worth it. Definitely will go again. I went through the drive thru. This Schlotskys has always been good. I've never had a really bad experience with service until yesterday. The girl in drive thru had pinkish hair and should not be working in customer service. I pulled up and smiled at her and she looked at me like I was interrupting her somehow. I waited a long time for my food which I don't mind because the sandwiches are phenomenal, but when the window opened she pushed the bag out and rudely said "here". It was the scowl in her face. I was missing my chips so I told her so always check your order people lol. I normally go thru the drive thru and in doing so I never really have time to browse the menu, this time I dined inside... and although I still ordered the same thing I always get, I sat close to the front and within view of the menu and came across some specials I'd like to try next time. My server was Sereniti and was very engaging and friendly. She advised me that if i fill out the survey on my receipt before I leave that I can get 3 free cookies so I did. Restaurant was clean, service was great, ice tea station was clean, meal was delicious and presentation was good. I'll probably make an effort to dine in again. I remember when they first came to Albuquerque the Original sandwich was so awesome!!! The staff was friendly but there minds were in lala land?? Sadly I was disappointed in that I remember when this place TOSTED the sandwich by running through a oven!! Sadly just a cold sandwich with very little black olives compared to 30-40 years ago.... Came here to eat. Brought the entire clan. Good looks good as always and of course pricey as usual. The one downer about this place is that they only give you a medicine cup partially filled with hot sauce. If you are gonna give those out please fill up the cup at least, especially when you only get one per sandwich. It is crazy to limit that especially when you are paying high dollar for a sandwich. One of my favorite places to eat simply because of the customer service. I order from here often and always get it to go. Last time I was in, they put my pickle on the outside of the box instead of inside like they usually do. There was pickle juice and smashed up pickle everywhere! This wouldn't normally be an issue, but my husband who hates pickles also had pickle juice and remnants of smashed pickle all over his sandwich wrapper and his bread was even soggy in some places. I'm sure this was just a one off, so I don't want to leave a bad review, but if this is a new change that they're going to be doing I would like to request that their pickles be packaged more appropriately. So, I proceed to watch other cars ordering AFTER ME (yes, I'm yelling) pullover and then RECEIVE their food. Now, I ordered the Deluxe Original. Don't remember the need for a fast food joint to kill and butcher an animal while I wait for said sandwich. I waited more than 15 minutes (yes, I kept time). FAST FOOD?? Screw this! "FAST" is defined as moving or capable of moving at high speed. Btw, this was at 2pm. Not noon or lunch hour. The thing is, and what aggravated me was their attitude. Tried to use the Journal Press Pass deal. Buy a medium combo and get a free small sandwich. We've used this here many times in the past and as recently as 2 weeks ago. Now they don't have combos and when I asked the boy at the register what I needed to order to get the deal I got an fu attitude. He just said he didn't think they do that anymore. Okay fine, I can deal with a change but not the attitude. Then when the food came out it was thrown on the table without so much as a single word. I love Schlotzsky's, but there has been a serious lack of training lately. I get "covid," but that doesn't excuse basic training or quality control. Over a month ago there was a problem with the bread not being mixed and baked properly, coupled with a bare minimum of toppings that resulted in very unappetizing meals. I did write and email but no one responded. I took a chance a few nights ago fora quick family meal. A large sandwich and a few bags of chips to share. Now we know that basic fractions and knife skills should be added to the training manual. There were no other orders coming in at the time, so there should be no distractions keeping an employee from looking at the meal they are preparing. All of the toppings were under the "papa bear" sized portion. The bread was not quite mixed right (thin and wxtra chewy), but at least it was baked. The only reason this gets 3 stars is because the overall attitude and speed of the staff has greatly improved over the last year. read more

Went here today for lunch and purchased an original turkey as I usually do, got home to start eating it and it turns out they changed the turkey they use. The turkey sandwiches they had before were full of flavor and had a really good thicker deli slice turkey, this new sandwich has some low-grade cheap crap meat turkey that you would buy in the bargain bin at a Walmart Isle. When I called the store to find out and see if corporate approved the decision to feed us this low-grade crap quality they want to put their franchise stamp on, and it turns out that the Schlotzsky's is owned privately and not by corporate! Whoever approved this change is clearly trying to cut their food cost, but they do not understand is their sacrificing their quality and also slandering the Schlotzsky's name brand in the process and selling a horrible product now! Be careful using your credit or debit cards at this location. I went thru and paid with debit. The guy gave me back my card and a receipt. Then he came back and said the card didn't go through, so I gave him the card back. He came back with the card and another receipt. That receipt said "reprint", which I thought was weird. I watched my bank account and the next day only one charge came thru. BUT a week later another charge for the exact same amount came thru again, and I hadn't been there since the prior visit.
