This really highlights the problems with companies like GoTo Foods snapping up restaurants left and right but not putting thought or effort into integration. About a week ago I had a poor experience at Cinnabon. For the record, I hadn't been to a Cinnabon in ages and we don't really even have a massive standalone presence here in SA. Nonetheless the quality was very low. I left honest feedback and in return they gave me a coupon code which was good for a free classic Cinnabon. Now I wasn't about to drive all the way across town again, so I went on the app and it showed there was a closer location at "Cinnabon at Schlotzsky's" as it shows in the app. What I found interesting is you can order ahead though the Cinnabon app and it clearly lists this as a location. So I figure I hadn't had lunch yet so I'll order some food items too from Schlotzsky's and there's an option within the Cinnabon app to scan to redeem. I get to the window and they tell me they don't accept Cinnabon there. I show them the app where they are listed as a location and there's literally nothing that says you can't redeem or earn rewards there. They say we'll try to scan your barcode but our system likely won't take it. Again, it's not even that you do or you don't take the rewards. It's how you COMMUNICATE that. Starbucks, for example, will tell you locations (e.g. hotels or airports) that don't honor their rewards program. You know before you commute that you can't earn or redeem at these locations. Communication. A simple yet powerful idea that so many companies miss. This is also an issue you create when you cross-brand like this. And to add more onto this train wreck of an experience, Schlotzsky's has it's own app and rewards program that's completely separate too. read more

I purchased a medium original sandwich tonight and usually the ingredients actually cover the bun Tonight it was a clump of meat and stuff in the center of the bun and about an inch of bun all the way around had nothing on it. It was just bread. I got a fork and try to spread the clump of stuff in the middle, but it got down to a skinny little sandwich I've been buying these for many years and I've never had such a dinky little sandwich in my life. The medium is the one I always buy because it's usually filling enough for a meal. I love going to Schlotzskys in Schertz but lately there's been some issues that I have not been happy with the assistant manager Marcus when you complain to him, he doesn't say anything. He doesn't acknowledge you when you're in the store or even smile I have received sandwiches with the bread, all broken up, and I refuse and have them to redo the sandwich there was employee after taking an order out side to a customer comes in laughing after they tell customers a lie why they didn't put there salad dressing in the bag and made the customer feel bad. I did bring this up to the manager hopefully something will be done. Just been really disappointed lately with their service. And as a reward customer, I always have to ask for my cookie. That's all I ever order from there except this time I ordered one of their veggie pizzas and it was amazing I've been eating at Schlotzsky's since the early 1970s and the food has not changed on flavor one bit. We ordered via Grubhub for dinner. My husband had the Giant Pastrami Rueben. His sandwich was full of pastrami, lite on sauerkraut, Swiss cheese warm near melting, mustard and SW Chipotle Mayo. I have a photo of his next meal with my bite shown. The Grilled Chicken Avocado Cobb salad was due to my work schedule - my morning breakfast. Using what I have learned from weight loss tips. I Chose to remove the bread croutons. I put them in the paper sleeve bag with the garlic toast. The Ken Ranch dressing 1.5 ounce opened. Dipped fork in when I Chose to use dressing. Still had half left after finishing the salad. Visually, grilled chicken sliced and seen on all 4 sides of salad. I ask for tomatoes, red onion and black olives. These also were on top beautifully displayed round red onion circles, red dots of petit tomato pieces, plenty of black olives. What really amazed me is that I had different types of greens - romaine, reddicho, and more. There was a smooth green leaf that looked a bit like spinach. Surprised me with a nice taste. Another leaf was jaggy, deep green - kale? Another salad greens was purple - sweeter than any purple cabbage I know of. These are my guess and not exactly what the salad greens are/were. Tossing the salad, I chopped eggs, avocado and feta cheese into smaller pieces . I also shredded the grilled chicken into smaller pieces. Each forkful has a different taste. On cucumber slices, using only my fork, I created an upside delicious bite. I was trying to copy what they do on fancy crackers. Smooth, tart, creamy, intrigue, full of fun and maybe my new word :kid delicious delightful lips with vital bliss kissed or kidliciousdelitelipswvitalkisd. This meal had my bowl imagination going. I ordered four items on Schlotzky's website. They use DoorDash for their deliveries, which is fine because I typically don't have issues with DoorDash. This time, the driver left behind part of my order. I called Schlotzkys and he found the remaining item and scheduled a redelivery. I was prepared to pay for another delivery and another drivers tip, because I'm not feeling well and not about to get into my car while coughing and sneezing. The manager told me there would be no additional fees. I'm sorry that Schlotzkys will have to pay (I really don't know how it works) to get another driver to deliver my item, but I sure do appreciate it. Thank you to the manager, James. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This place was just god awful, let's start with the beginning, I walk in I had an extremely disappointing experience at this location. Despite repeatedly requesting no mayo, my sandwich arrived slathered in it. The staff was rude during ordering said sandwich and when I asked for a remake, they denied my initial request. To make matters worse, they knocked my sandwich into my soda upon delivery, refused to apologize, and left me and my companions drenched. Pretty disappointed with Schlotsky's today. Very excited about their special- buy chips and a medium drink and get a small Original sandwich for free. I cannot eat pork, so I asked if they would give me the Turkey Original and I told them why. They refused stating that the special was only for their standard Original. I know, I know- well, that's the special. I just thought that since the Turkey Original was the same price and they probably wouldn't have a stampede of people who cannot eat pork, that maybe they could have gone out of their way a little to satisfy a customer. The owner came on the mic and told me if I wanted to pay an extra $2, I could get the Turkey. I don't understand this when both sandwiches are the same price. We are already fans of this chain, but there is really nothing special going on here. Based on the interior alone, I don't think you could tell if you were in Shertz or Sunset Valley. Store is clean, service is fine, and food is good. It would be nice if they would remember 'no onions' when asked. I've previously visited this location multiple times and have always gotten fairly good service and great food. Tuesday afternoon I placed an order online which I picked up through the drive thru. When I got to the window they informed me they didn't have the soup I ordered so I asked for another soup in replacement (which was really good). When I took my first bite into the sandwich it was much different so checked and realized it was something different from what I ordered (which was the turkey bacon club). I called this location to speak to a manger to inform them in hopes to receive the sandwich I ordered. Instead after I listed the ingredients that were on the sandwich I received to the manager (Marcus) he began to explain to me that he had been making sandwiches and he had not made a sandwich with the ingredients I listed. I felt pretty uncomfortable and was unsure how to respond bc that was what I had in front of me. I questioned if there was any way anyone else could've made it, he answered no & that he remembered my order specifically and he made it exactly the way it read on the screen. I assume my order was handed out to a different car bc I also received an incorrect ticket/receipt in my bag that read "sm original". I informed Marcus of all of this, half of the time I was talking he was talking to someone else then would reply with "I can't hear you". I understand mistakes like this happen in the restaurant Industry but I think it was extremely unprofessional for Marcus to immediately assume I was not being honest about what I received. In the future, I suggest you apologize to the customer regardless of whether or not you believe they got the right or wrong order. I'd just like a refund for my meal because at this point it seems ridiculous to eat from this location. I was sure to keep the food I did not eat to prove that It was the wrong sandwich and that I did not eat it. This was a very uncomfortable, weird situation and I hope this "manager" can learn some communication skills. read more

After reading all the other reviews, I gather something was done to remedy whatever situation that they had. We had lunch there yesterday on our way home from Natural Bridge Caverns. Our sandwiches came out fast and correct, the service good. And I would say that normally I don't expect much from a Schlotsky's bathroom as many have been less than tidy. But this particular restroom and the whole place was very clean and shiny though, very well kept. A pleasant surprise. We left happy. read more

I love their sandwiches, the only thing that's unfortunate is the gluten free sandwiches aren't in the large size, they only have medium which honestly is a small bun. As all of my friends know, I am not a fan of fast food. I do all that I can to avoid it, but sometimes I have no choice. So when I found myself in Scherz with only a little time to eat, I decided to visit the Schlotzky's. The restaurant was very clean and inviting. I was greeted as soon as I walked to the counter and the employees had smiled on their faces! This in and of itself was a nice deviation from most of the fast food places I have stopped in. Not only that, but the owner was walking around getting people and cleaning tables! I was agonizing over my lunch choice.... I hadn't been here in a very long time and wanted more than one thing. The cashier suggested I try the Pick 2... you can have 2 half sandwiches or any combo of sandwich, soup, salad or pizza. So... I had half a Fiesta Chicken and half a Deluxe Original... I think I actually did the happy dance! They brought my sandwiches to me and I was very happy. Both were filled with delicious meats and trimmings and very hot. The owner stopped by and asked how my meal was... it was more like being in a fast casual eatery than a fast food place. As a children's entertainer, i am on the road a lot and due to their new mobile app Lotz Better i have become more of a frequent eater at Schlotsky's. It's worth it to sign up. They send you out special deals. And the variety of options is awesome. I do prefer to eat in but sometimes you just have to keep moving. If you eat here you at least feel like you are getting quality food. The drawback are the gnats near the tea when you go inside. read more

April 7, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. I placed an order over the phone. I arrived to pick it up and the order was ready to go. I went over the receipt and everything was correct. I was told the order was all there. I drove back to work and pulled out the food. I was missing an $8.50 sandwich. I called them and told them it was not there. I left work again and went back to pick up the sandwich. There was no apology, no thank you, nothing. I arrived back at work to eat cold food. I then pulled out my order of french onion soup. The "soup" was warm, beef flavored jelly. Moving on to the Pecan Center of the Roll....it wasn't. We were given the classic roll bites and they were pretty dried out. How is it possible to get so much wrong on such a small order ??? Time to hire new help. I probably will not be going to the location in Schertz, TX on 3009 again. Absolutely love Schlotzsky's food. HOWEVER! There is NO customer service at all. Called in an order for pickup was told it would be ready in 5 minutes- on lunch break- went in to pick up, directed over to "To-Go", tried to pay had to get back in line which was out the door, so it took 30 minutes to actually get my order. Why not have a register for your "To-Go" and phone orders???? It would make every working person so much happier and willing to come back more often at lunch. It would ease the pressure on the single cashier trying move people as quickly, accurately, and effectively through the order process. Had only 1 register open during the lunch rush, 1 cashier on the phone taking an order, and 10-15 employees running around doing stuff and the manager avoiding eye contact when you are waiting to give them money! NO one EVER offered to help, inquire if I needed anything, no eye contact from any of the employees. Would have gone thru the drive thru but it is super slow. Most of us that work have a very short window of time in which to go out to pick our lunch, which is why we call it in, but then to not even be acknowledged-- horrible customer service. No matter how good your food may by if your customer service, customer engagement is terrible, it completely destroys the whole customer experience! read more

It is steadily declining. I've lived in this area and been coming to this location since around 2007, and somehow, they just keep getting worse. I think I am done with them. It must be something to do with changes in ownership/management, but I would rather eat a prefab quarter pounder from McDouchebags (which is also on a steep decline) than deal with this place any more. A previous poster said something about a lack of condiments, and I think that's part of the problem. How hard is it to make a sandwich? The same poster said the food came out lukewarm. Ditto that. How hard is it to serve hot food? Pretty darn hard, apparently. They made pizzas that were actually pretty good, and have somehow managed to jerk those up as well. If whomever owns this place loses their @$$ to bankruptcy, they have earned it. I gave it 2 stars because of past experiences. Otherwise, it would have been about 0.5. read more
