They had already closed but we went back a couple days later for breakfast. It was around 8:30 a.m. on a Sunday when we got there and there were approximately 15 people in line ahead of us. I believe it would have been a lot more, however, it had rained just 15 minutes prior. Customer Service - A. Once we made our way to the door, we were immediately greeted. The process of ordering was smooth and we went back outside to grab a table on the patio and waited for our order. Food - B. I had the garlic bagel with jalapeno cream cheese. My husband had the onion bagel with the cheddar and garlic cream cheese. Both cream cheeses were delicious, very flavorful. However, we both thought our bagels were good, but nothing that stood out for either of us. Of course it may have been the selections we went with. Quaint small shop with delicious bagels. I got there at 10:15am and got one of the last bagels they had. By 10:30am they had put out a sign saying they ran out of bagels and were closed. I saw many people walk up and see the sign and leave disappointed after figuring out they were actually closed. Seems like you would make a few more bagels instead of running out at the peak of breakfast hours. I did pay $12 for a bacon, egg and cheese with jalapeño cream cheese on a garlic bagel, no drink or anything else. I guess they can afford to work half as much if you charge twice as much. Great bagel! We recently moved down from Philly and were looking for a NY style bagel and this is the closest we've tried. We tried two bagels with cream cheese and a BEC bagel. The seasoning coverage on the bagels was perfect. Soft with a little chew. The breakfast sandwich could have done with more fillings but what was there was very good. The cream cheese bagels were appropriately smeared. Brownie points for the cute location and garden in the old town. Looks like they sell out on their specialty items on busy days so go early. We came across schmagels bagels by accident while we were walking around. By the time we got there they only had 4 bagel flavors to pick from. I'm so happy we walked in! Staff was super friendly and suggested we add cream cheese to our breakfast bagels. It was SO good, I got the herb cream cheese with my breakfast bagel. My kids love bagels -- at 3 years old they demand and scream until I finally cave in. I get it! So when we were on a family vacation in St Augustine, I opened up yelp and found the nearest option. Bam, Schmagel'a Bagels it is! Service was efficient and friendly. Since it was the holidays, I could only order 3 loose bagels. And had to buy prepared bagels to go. No problem! I asked for 2 everything and 1 plain, toasted with regular cream cheese. They were delicious and tasted like you'd find in nyc. I'm knocking off a star since they forgot to toast all 3 bagels. I brought my spouse to St. Augustine for his first time and decided to walk him through the old stomping grounds. The recipes have not changed since I went to Flagler and I could not be happier that they have not changed! The first experience while on vacation, I sent my spouse over to Schmagel's while I got ready for our day's adventure. I used to order my bagel with two types of cream cheese, half and half, because they have so many good cream cheese flavors. Surprise! they still accommodate and did the cream cheese half and half. Absolutely delicious, just like I remember. On our last day, I decided I wanted to take a dozen bagels back home. I did make the mistake of not checking the website before we went. Once we arrived, I noticed in big letters on their menu that a bakers dozen has to be pre-ordered. Totally my fault for not checking beforehand, they are a small bakery. To my surprise, the owner was working and told me I could have 6 bagels (Thank the lord! 6 is better than 1). I was so happy to get to take home 6 bagels and pints of cream cheese. The owner was so kind that she blessed us with some muffins (also AMAZING) for being understanding. I know this is a super rave review over bagels, but they are incredible bagels with great flavors. My spouse now understands why I wouldn't shut up about bagels on our way to St. Augustine. He too is now a very big fan of Schmagel's. Went here for breakfast. Although they have an interesting selection of breakfast bagel sandwiches, I just had a toasted blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese. It was very good, and I enjoyed it. Service was pleasant and efficient. Customers order at the counter. Orders are then brought to the table. There are no tables inside, but there is a nice outdoor seating area. I went in this morning for the first time after hearing so many amazing things. As I was ordering they were patient and kind in making recommendations. I was having an awful morning and broke down into tears while ordering and they gave me a hug and reassured me everything will be okay and if I need a place to sit and eat or just get away I'm always welcomed. We gobbled up our bagels before we took pictures! But I'm sure you know what a good bagel looks like My husband ordered the jalapeño cheddar bagel with scallion cream cheese. I ordered a Tuscan bagel with egg and cheese. The jalapeño one had whole peppers under the melted cheese so it was hot. Even my Tuscan bagel had a tad bit of umph to it. The owners were friendly and helpful. The coffee was good and hot. Our breakfast on the patio was comfortable and peaceful. Busy little bagel shop in the heart of historic St. Augustine. They offer a variety of bagels, bagel breakfast sandwiches, wraps, and sandwiches. They are only allowing two people inside at a time and offee outdoor seating. My friends ordered breakfast sandwiches on bagels. Being from south Florida they are picky bagel eaters, but thoroughly enjoyed their food. I ordered a breakfast wrap. The wrap was delicious and filling. They also put a jalapeño cream cheese inside the wrap for a nice added kick. I also ordered the apple juice and you can tell it was freshly made.
