The nice teen girl helped us and told us it would be out shortly, on the other hand the guy gave us a passive aggressive remark about waiting. When the food was ready he stated I ordered a strawberry and banana marshmallow crepe, for safe measures I asked him if it had nutella. he proceeded to tell me that "he already told me that" in a very aggressive tone. Viva le crepe ! Our annual girls trip always calls for a stop to Mimi's. There are so many varieties and each time we order a new favorite and I'm so happy I went with banana Creme pie. It reminded me of just that or banana pudding. It was sweet but not sugary and full of fresh bananas. We ordered 5 flavors since there were 5 of us and everyone kept saying mine was the best one. Service could've been better. Staff was handling cash and our food with the same gloves and it felt unsanitary. Shoutout to our local community heroes at this venue. I enjoyed stopping in at this neat little shop. We had walked around the neighborhood sidewalks and shops until it opened. The menu is very impressive. They offer both sweet and savory. I ordered the Lemon Dé La Cream which is French cream cheese, strawberries, blueberries, raspberry sauce, and lemon glaze in a crepe. This was so darling, beautiful, delicate, and delicious. A fresh citrus tartness and sweet berry syrup combined with fresh plump blueberries and fresh ripe strawberries. A dip into whipped cream was a perfect addition to this already indulgence treat. Hubby had a savory crepe- the Chicken Cordon Bleu Pulled chicken breast, sliced ham, shredded swiss cheese, and honey mustard. He enjoyed every scrumptious bite. We had cold bottles of water, because there is not coffee on the menu. We benefited from the cold water on this very warm July 4th. We sat in the Beautiful Garden Seating area behind the shop. There is plenty of seating amongst the beautiful flowers, plants, and ornate green metal patio furniture. What landed in front of us was so delicious that we inhaled it in less than 5 minutes. Every. Single. Ingredient. In this crepe was cooked to perfection and combined in exquisite proportions. My kids got the strawberry & nutella crepes and they inhaled those, too. "Quelle surprise!" The second best part of Mimi's is the not-so-secret garden in the back for patrons of Mimi's and the adjoining pretzel shop. It is a gorgeously shaded area out back between the buildings, with benches, tables, awnings, glorious tree shade, and more. It is truly magical back there. (Psssst, help keep it that way please!) The crapes were delicious here! Their workers were fairly young and were having their own conversations when I walked in. A young girl greeted me and there was already a crêpe on the wheel. I asked for her to make me a fresh crêpe, and there was a bit of discrepancy as to whether or not I would take the old crêpe, lol I asked her to make a new one so that I can see it from scratch and show my toddler. Anyhow, once she understood what I was asking, she made me a new one. I thought that was a part of the whole experience? Anyway, I think the crêpe was 12 or $13 And I thought it was a little pricey, but given that it is on St. George Street, it is expected. Our first experience today and we chose 2 from the sweet side of the menu: Le Perfect Pear which has pears, Brie cheese, raspberry sauce, almonds and whipped cream and we chose the French Elvis which has bananas, peanut butter sauce and chopped bacon. Both were delicious and quite filling for three of us. They were made right in front of us using fresh ingredients. Each cost $9.99 and very well worth the price. Both Crepe Chefs were friendly and personable. They told us that both of their grandmothers were French and they had grown up eating crepes. While the restaurant is very small with no indoor tables, they have a beautiful private garden out back with umbrella covered tables to enjoy these delightful masterpieces. We go here all the time when we visit St. Augustine. The food is fluffy and we normally get it served warm so it's made fresh and it tastes really good. The service is impressive they have a small kitchen in the back with a few employees but even when they are busy they serve in a timely manner, they even offer the garden in the back and they will bring you your food. The ambiance is calming if you choose to eat in the garden but the hustle and bustle of St. Augustine has a historical fee around it.
