After requesting quotes on Yelp, I got a slew of phone calls from different companies asking if I wanted to make an appointment for an estimate. At 8pm, Nick called and instead of pitching himself to do the repair, he gave us some suggestions as to what the problem could be and how to fix it. Following Nick's suggestion, we made a quick trip to Home Depot, bought the $40 piece, replaced the broken piece. The fix took less than ten minutes and just as Nick had said, the furnace was working again! Never, in my 29 years of home ownership, has a service person ever turned down an opportunity for a job that probably would've cost several hundred dollars (not including the initial diagnostic fee)!! Nick showed himself to be a stand-up guy who wasn't just looking to make a buck off me. And if in the future, I have any other HVAC needs, Nick will be the first person I call. I went from one zone of central air and converted it to 2 zones with ac and heat. To say it has been a disaster has been an understatement. When they put the new system in I told them of a particular room that didn't stay as cool as the rest of the house. They said they would make sure to take care of it. Well the new system actually works worse than my 20 year old single zone system. A few highlights On one hot day the thermostat upstairs is set at 68. My sons room is well over 73 degrees The hot room that was a problem is 74-75 degrees on hot days even though my thermostat is set at 68. The basement renovation they decided to put only one vent all the way on the back by the Bilco door. In the winter the basement is 61 degrees while the thermostat is set at 70 on the first floor. They had to come out here 4 times before they realized they wired the system incorrectly when they installed it I don't expect exact temperature match with the thermostats in every room. But when I drop 40k plus a new system it should be pretty damn close. They often send guys out and say they will come back or talk to the owner about the problem. They never do. Stay far away

I had actually used Hartmann's and Esposito in the past and my experiences were decent, but this most recent circumstance (with, to give some details, my furnace and parts that were not actually needed and never completely fixing the issue they created) has left the ultimate bad taste in my mouth. Overall, the whole situation from the start felt like I was being taken advantage of and not once did I actually feel like my time and my satisfaction with this company and the work they did was important. There's a real lack of responsibility, integrity, ownership, honesty, and respect taking place with Hartmann's and Esposito.
