We drove 3 hours from The Woodlands and it was 100% worth it! Everything at Schoepf's was delicious. The ribs and brisket were incredibly tender and packed with flavor, with that perfect smoky bark. The poblano jack sausage was outstanding (easily one of the best we've had). We also loved the creamy scalloped potatoes and the Mexican street corn (elote) which was fresh and flavorful. The three staff members we interacted with were genuinely friendly and full of classic Southern hospitality. We'd put this place right up there with our local favorite CorkScrew BBQ. Highly recommended!

I definitely enjoyed my meal here. I went after lunch when nobody was there so it was nice and quick service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place looks cool too. Felt like I was in a small town out in the country.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was clean and smelled great![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was awesome! Nothing lacked and I'd definitely go again. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Got to experience a concert here as well. Had no idea how big it was out back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All around great spot!

    Chicken Half, Sausage, 2 sides

This meal cost us $70: quarter chicken, 2 sausages, small beans, small cucumber salad, and it was awful. The chicken was very dry. The sides were ok. You only get a small container of sauce. If you want more sauce, you have to wait in the line again; there's none available near the tables. I commented to two employees the chicken was very dry. All I got was " sorry". When I questioned the cost, the cashier was rude and walked away. After we left, we pulled up the menu and realized we'd been overcharged by $20 or so. We're from out of town, so it wasn't worth driving back. Won't ever go here again.

1st time stopping by and will definitely be our go to moving forward on our 35route ! Friendly staff including the owner (which we didn't realize who he was until later) Food was top 10! We chose the habaner pork belly , sliced turkey, sliced brisket, mexican street corn, green beans , & mac n cheese. Topped off with the sopapilla cheescake . DELICIOUS!!!!

Delicious bbq! Best brisket and ribs I've had! Moist, seasoned well, smoked perfectly. Sides are homemade!!!!!!! And all are very good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Large open rest with plenty of seating, always kept very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Workers always friendly and helpful.

Dropped in here for a change from my usual Belton BBQ stop, and glad I did! Really delicious food, and friendly, helpful staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is clean and comfortable too![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is the greasy mac and cheese - which is NOT even part of what we ordered.

This place is a clown show. I ordered 2 Brisket Bowls. Each one is advertised as having chopped prime brisket, Spanish Rice, Charro Beans, Street Corn and Pico. What we were given - in a bag so we did not see the garbage until we got home - was a greasy mac and cheese bowl with 3 slices of meat oozing on top. Look at the photos - it was so bad we tossed the "food" into the garbage and ordered a pizza. We should have known better - the people working there - there were 7 - are running around, nobody in charge, everything screwed up - and when we were there the place was close to empty. Avoid this rip off - go to Miller's down the street. The food is great, they have wonderful service and they do not steal your money and give you garbage you have to throw in the garbage.

Overall decent but probably won't go back. Food was pretty good. Brisket was tender but all the spices were on the fatty edge portion. So not real flavorful brisket. Street corn and green beans were great. Service was mediocre. Meat servers & side item servers were nice. Other workers seemed a little annoyed at having to work.

Ordered food for 7 people on New Years Eve. That's over $200 worth of food. I asked them to include pickles, onions, bbq sauce and bread. When I got home, this is what they gave me and just 6 slices of bread. For 7 people. I've gotten more when I've gone and gotten food for 2 people. It was so disappointing not having enough for everyone. The bread wasn't a big deal because we had some at home but we didn't have pickles, onions and especially not any of their bbq sauce. I've been coming here for years and have never experienced anything like this. Im hoping this was an isolated incident.

I am an avid Yelp user but the reviews got it wrong here. Anyone citing price is used to the dollar menu. A lot of work goes into creating BBQ and this place is no exception. Is it cheap? Not really. Is it worth every dollar?Absolutely. Get what you pay for! I've eaten BBQ from the Carolinas to Brownsville, Texas and all the places in between. This spot brings a culmination of some of my absolute favorites to one plate. Elote and Tres Leche as my sides to my Oaxaca sausage. Give me a break! 5 stars ain't enough. Could eat here everyday. Consistently delicious and always a favorite. See yall asap.

Brisket Queso nachos are brilliant meal by itself.

She met us at the Magnolia House in less than 30 minutes. She was incredibly patient with us as we discussed how to make it work and how to address the cost between the families. We left her a little after 3, and she had the area set up for our rehearsal scheduled at 5 that same day. The wedding turned out beautifully. You have the preference to pick lakeside, so we chose that and were seated outdoors with a view of Belton Lake. Upon getting seated, we orderered the Calamari, the Crab Cakes, the Fried Catfish, Shrimp and Grits, Salmon Salad, and the burger. I also got their Sunrise Tequila cocktail (as they were out of the sunset margarita that I had initially wanted to try). I loved my shrimp and grits! The dish was super tasty, and the grits were cheesy and delicious. The fried catfish was also great, and the calamari appetizer was shared amongst the four of us. I do not think I liked the crab cake as much, but it was still pretty good. My personal preference at least. My boyfriend ordered a soda, and it was nice that they let you get a collectible cup for your soda to go as well! Would come again!

This restaurant has SO MUCH POTENTIAL yet it falls short every time I go. This last time we went…read more(6/20/26) it was for a new reason. It was in the mid 80s and over 50% humidity outside. We were wanting to sit outside for the amazing view. We are led to the table closest to the back door. The misters were on like an indoor sprinkler fire suppression system. I'm talking soaking wet everything. Our table was getting misted and the chairs on the mister side had puddles of water on the seats. This is because the humidity outside was too high for misters to be effective (they cool air via evaporation- it was too humid for this to occur). We asked our waitress (who was great) if we could get the misters turned down or off since they were not making it any cooler and just getting everything soaking wet and she said she didn't want to get in trouble. I said they could be mad at us and just tell the manager the misters are getting everything wet. She gave the impression that she'd asked this several times before and management denied customer requests to turn them off. It was so soaking wet the floor had a "caution wet floor" sign on it, which means management was aware of the state of the situation and did nothing. ? Management, if the misters are resulting in wet surfaces, that means the mist is not evaporating, and the misters are not working. This is a very simple concept. There are other things that could be improved. Once the sun started setting we were getting blinded so we all moved to the other side of the table facing away from the sun (and the lake). This is an easy fix- install some shades! This is a double solution as they can be used to retain warmth in cold weather. Overall the food was really good. The gumbo was weirdly gelatinous and did NOT TASTE LIKE traditional gumbo- I'm from southeast Texas, from a long line of Cajun cooks. It tasted more like gravy and had a gravy texture. Not really edible. The snapper was delicious. The basil cream sauce was a smart choice, but it also was way too thick and had a goopy, non-pourable texture. Seemed like too much cornstarch was added. I ordered a bahama mama and asked for the alcohol on the side because I've felt the drinks are skimped here in the past, and they only gave me 1 shot of rum when the menu says there is a light and a dark rum shot in the drink. Waitress said the drink already had the coconut rum in it- definitely didn't taste like it. Plus, I've asked for this before and they did bring out 2 shots, so I think I just got skimped which is per usual. There was also a 6-ish y/o little boy who spent about 20-30 mins running and stomping up and down the deck right alongside our table. He was enjoying himself stomping in the mister puddles. Not his fault that he wasn't being supervised or contained; his parents were somewhere way far away out of eye and earshot. I saw waitresses notice, but no one made the effort to get this child's parents to corral him back to their table. We love kids so this wasn't as big of a deal as it could have been. So much potential, so many oversights. I believe in this place and I know they can improve!

Milller's Smokehouse serves up some killer smash burgers!…read more My family enjoys hunting for great Texas BBQ. We have completed the 2017 and 2021 TX Monthly Top 50 BBQ list. We started the 2025 list and we are more than half-way through the list as of June 2026. Heading to the spots in West Texas takes some logistical planning, patience, and lots of gas for the drive from the Texas Gulf Coast. On our recent BBQ quest to West Texas,we drove home via Fort Worth from Amarillo with our eyes set on hitting one of the most consistent BBQ joints in Central Texas, Miller's Smokehouse in Belton, TX. This was our fourth time to visit Miller's. Unfortunately, Miller's Smokehouse had a surprise overnight fire late February 2026. That hasn't stopped them from feeding the community great food from a mobile trailer. They had an abbreviated menu of the BBQ staples like brisket, chicken, pulled pork, pork steaks, and St. Louis Style Ribs, and assorted sandwiches and sides. Generally, I'm a Texas Trinity traditionalist. But we he had our fill of brisket, ribs, and sausage on our West Texas journey. Instead, we jumped at the Smash Burgers! First time for us and they made a favorable impression. My wife had the Single Smash. My son and I had the Double Smash. Of course we had to try the tallow Fries. Wow! Homemade buns, oversized patties, cheese, with a smattering of pickles and burger sauce. We destroyed those burgers. Compliments to the kitchen staff cooking up some great food. The tallow Fries, seasoned with just the right amount of salt were a perfect crisp while being soft in the center. Don't cheat yourself - try the Fries. We arrived around noon and there was a very short line at that time. Parking is easy with ample parallel parking and free lots close by. The staff took good care of us. It was a bit warm but they had shaded picnic table seating with plenty of fly fans at the table to keep the critters from buzzing to nibble at your food. Before we left, we inquired about nearby restrooms to wash-up before we got back on the road. We were directed across the street to Muscovy Coffee Roasters across the street. It turns out that Muscovy is Miller's upscale sister coffee house that opened days before the February fire. I could not help but notice the spacious seating area that was packed. Nor the rich roasted coffee wafting through the air. They also serve an interesting menu of breakfast items and homemade Kolaches. Got to go back for coffee and Kolaches next time. By the way, the restrooms were Buc-ee's clean+. This is the fourth time we visited Miller's Smokehouse. Hat's off to the pitmasters and staff at Miller's Smokehouse for their perseverance. We'll be back after they open the revitalized restaurant. Hoping to meet Dusty the next time.
