Bacon Cheddar Potatoes (worth the try!) and Mac & Cheese
    Jessica N.

We went to Smokey Mo's after a long day at work and it just hit the spot when you're craving bbq meats but don't want to drive too far. Ordering was a breeze, meats were moist, and there's a clean and open outdoor space you can enjoy your meal. The only downside was that they had run out of some of the sides we wanted, but we did arrive about an hour before closing. I enjoyed the mac and cheese and bacon cheddar potatoes a lot, and it would be nice if the green beans were not canned

I tried to go pick it up but, "My mind's telling me no - But my body, my body's telling me yes" (the controversial and disgusting R Kelly). Totally opposite. My mind said, "yo, we can do this!" My body said, "stupid, just get delivery and pay the $5.99 delivery charge." This place is always on point. I just recently gave a whole bag of plastic "Smokey Mo's"cutlery to my folks to use during their RV travels from here. (I will say that once I received a tiny malnourished potato reminiscent of a potato from the Cold War. I took the survey and immediately received a tater on them. There are also some general frustrating aspects of the app. There was a huge delay in notification that the order was accepted. That gave my mind the idea that I could totally go in and pick up the tater. #patienceisavirtue) I literally crave this baked potato and they hooked it up. Thank you. This made my day! (My special request was, "Please get this right. Life is lifin. Thanks! :)" And the response picked me up; "I feel that girl! LOL. Hope it gets better!") Yap! It will!

This BBQ is amazing!! Our first time in. We got four meats, four sides. Sausage, Turkey, Brisket, and Ribs... all the meats were delicious and disappeared the side are delicious, especially the corn and MAC & cheese. I recommend this place 100%

3.5 Stars - Good BBQ, But Not the "Wow" I Was Expecting I recently visited my son in Texas for the first time since he moved there, and of course, I had to try some Texas barbecue. We decided to order takeout from Smokey Mo's BBQ. Based on the reputation of Texas BBQ, I was expecting something truly out of this world--but it was just good, not great. I ordered the ribs (the same ones you see in the picture), while my son got the chicken with macaroni and cheese, and his wife had the half chicken with greens. The food was tasty and well-prepared, but nothing really stood out as exceptional or memorable. Overall, it was a solid meal--good flavors, generous portions--but it didn't quite live up to the BBQ hype I had in mind. I'm still glad we tried it, and it's definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a convenient and decent BBQ spot.

    Chopped beef Lunch Sandwich Combo

Service was fantastic. Food was good. The sandwich was more than enough to fill me up.

    Burned and so dry

I got a chopped beef sandwich and was pretty excited about it. I paid $13.99 for a sandwich drink and chips. The meat was so dry it tasted like beef jerky. It was burnt and my bread was so greasy that I had to take the bread off. I ended up throwing the whole entire thing in the trash. I wish I was able to post pictures so you can see exactly what I'm talking about. Absolutely disgusting and I won't be back.

Excellent value for the money. This joint started out in the Austin area and has evolved into a chain restaurant. Very respectable quality all things considered. If Rudy's BBQ had a little brother, he would be Mo! Ordered a jumbo baker loaded with some very nicely smoked brisket. Finished it off with a slice of Pecan Pie. The pie didn't need the sugar glaze on top. And it was a little runnier consistency on the filling than I lilike, but to each their own. Texas BBQ is a very delicate and highly opinioned arena, but my taste buds were not disappointed.

    Two 2 Meat Plate

The young man that greeted us and took our order was very nice and personable. We both had the two meat plate, brisket and ribs with sides of potato salad and cream corn. The sides were very good cream corn especially was very tasty. The brisket and rib came out medium temperature. They both got cold awfully quick. We eat there 5/31on a warm day. They both tasted ok. Brisket was tender as was the rib. They seemed to both be seasoned with a great amount if pepper. I tried both the mild and the spicy bbq sauce they also we just ok.

    Not award winning brisket.

Easily the worst brisket I've had in the last 5+ years. It was dry, no flavor and definitely not a moist cut. Potatoes were pretty good.

We sit and order in good time as well- fyi though they advertise gluten free they advise "if its serious, please be aware there's a possibility of cross contamination due to our kitchen being small" & their potatoes "are gluten free but share the same fryer as non GF items" EYEROLLS- all of that means nothing is GF lol... anyway. The couple next to us had been seated about 30 minutes before us and still had no food, but was told that the kitchen had a huge mess up somehow and was running very behind. When their food was brought, they received the wrong order... and the folks behind us who still hadn't ordered yet received food which was also clearly someone else's! Now, I look at my phone... because my grumpy (screaming 1yo at this point) baby was starving and I was quite over the wait- holy cow! It had been over AN HOUR since we were seated. The food finally came- bit by bit... and I realized we were never given silverware. Had to ask for it. Once I start eating I was even more disappointed. The waffle i ordered was dry and other than the chocolate chips on top it was flavorless. The chicken sausage was dry & the "two eggs" must have been from a quail because it truly looked like just one. I can say with the utmost enthusiasm that I could NEVER recommend this place to anyone, nor will we be back. Not just because the food was less than mid, but the service was even worse.

My husband and granddaughter-in-law had the steak and eggs - with really good potatoes and onions; both were SO impressed with the flavor and the preparation. (I will be having this next time!). My grandson had 'Hong Kong' French toast, which I believe was made with Japanese milk bread and had berries and a custard. Also came with eggs and bacon. He could not speak highly enough about it. The portions are LARGE. We all took food home. I shared my plate with my great granddaughter (2 yrs) and still took food home! Honestly, we had booked another restaurant for the weekend of Mother's Day (day before) and we canceled that reservation so that we could go back to Farmers Commons! It's that good. Also, all the folks working when we were there were very sweet with my great granddaughter; we appreciated that. HIGHLY recommend for brunch. Now i want to try dinner too!

A phone call ahead of time would have been the professional and respectful thing to do, rather than having us show up and then be told we would simply be placed on a waiting list. It really makes me question the purpose of making a reservation days in advance if it is not going to be honored. We started the 2025 list and we are more than half-way through the list as of June 2026. Heading to the spots in West Texas takes some logistical planning, patience, and lots of gas for the drive from the Texas Gulf Coast. On our recent BBQ quest to West Texas,we drove home via Fort Worth from Amarillo with our eyes set on hitting one of the most consistent BBQ joints in Central Texas, Miller's Smokehouse in Belton, TX. This was our fourth time to visit Miller's. Unfortunately, Miller's Smokehouse had a surprise overnight fire late February 2026. That hasn't stopped them from feeding the community great food from a mobile trailer. They had an abbreviated menu of the BBQ staples like brisket, chicken, pulled pork, pork steaks, and St. Louis Style Ribs, and assorted sandwiches and sides. Generally, I'm a Texas Trinity traditionalist. But we he had our fill of brisket, ribs, and sausage on our West Texas journey. Instead, we jumped at the Smash Burgers! First time for us and they made a favorable impression. My wife had the Single Smash. My son and I had the Double Smash. Of course we had to try the tallow Fries. Wow! Homemade buns, oversized patties, cheese, with a smattering of pickles and burger sauce. We destroyed those burgers. Compliments to the kitchen staff cooking up some great food. The tallow Fries, seasoned with just the right amount of salt were a perfect crisp while being soft in the center. Don't cheat yourself - try the Fries. We arrived around noon and there was a very short line at that time. Parking is easy with ample parallel parking and free lots close by. The staff took good care of us. It was a bit warm but they had shaded picnic table seating with plenty of fly fans at the table to keep the critters from buzzing to nibble at your food. Before we left, we inquired about nearby restrooms to wash-up before we got back on the road. We were directed across the street to Muscovy Coffee Roasters across the street. It turns out that Muscovy is Miller's upscale sister coffee house that opened days before the February fire. I could not help but notice the spacious seating area that was packed. Nor the rich roasted coffee wafting through the air. They also serve an interesting menu of breakfast items and homemade Kolaches. Got to go back for coffee and Kolaches next time. By the way, the restrooms were Buc-ee's clean+. This is the fourth time we visited Miller's Smokehouse. Hat's off to the pitmasters and staff at Miller's Smokehouse for their perseverance. We'll be back after they open the revitalized restaurant. Hoping to meet Dusty the next time.
