Just opened my account today. Reviews are accurate for the Menifee branch at 5 stars. The woman at check in was friendly and helpful. My appointment to set up the account was named Gricelda. She went very far beyond in helping me. She answered a multitude of my questions with a smile and kindness. Not only that, but she assisted me in setting up the app on my phone since it was confusing to me and hard to type on the little buttons. She was a Godsend. I left feeling confident and happy. Came to this branch of SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union two days ago to have a face-to-face consultation regarding my accounts with an employee, since I couldn't do everything over the phone or online. As soon as I walked into the credit union, I was warmly greet by Sasha, who checked me in by taking some of my information that she needed later. Since she was also helping at the front desk, she had me sit in the waiting area for a couple of minutes while she checked in a couple who needed to talk to an employee. Sasha called out my name and led me to her desk, where she asked for my ID to compare it against the info in their system. She noticed my driver's license wasn't a California one, and told her I was in SoCal visiting family. I asked her a lot of questions regarding my accounts, and told her how I wanted my accounts to work for me. Sasha suggested to me some changes I could make that would satisfy my needs, and then I approved the changes before she made the updates in the system. All of this took about 15 minutes. Sasha was up-to-date with all of the information that I needed, and she answered all of my questions thoroughly. Before I left, Sasha thanked me for being a SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union member, and wished me safe travels. I've been a member of SchoolsFirst for 10 years. We recently moved and my husband and I noticed this branch had a grand opening about two weeks ago. We're excited that it's here in the same shopping center as Barons, LA Fitness and Raising Cane's. Upon entering it's got an open floor plan so it immediately doesn't feel crowded. I was quickly greeted by a rep at the desk and checked in. There's two waiting areas. One by the door with a mounted TV, coffee and water and another bigger space with lots of seating next to it. Technically, there's also a table with more chairs available, too. The other branch I would go to had a kids room, but this one doesn't. They do have two tablets for kids to use during the wait, which can be a useful distraction. I noticed 7-8 cubicles, a Coinstar machine and the tellers. Outside there are two ATM's. I came in on a Thursday around 3:30pm and it's not too busy, but I still waited about 20-25 minutes to sit with a rep. The restroom was a family size unisex restroom which has a Koala Kare changing table! Score! It was nice and clean. After initially waiting about 15 minutes the rep came to check how I was on time since it was still going to be about another ten minutes or so. She also asked if I wanted water or something to drink. Great customer service :) I usually don't go inside banks because of these long waits. This experience took about forty five minutes, which I expected. One of the things I needed help with the rep was able to waive a $5 fee for the wait time, which was unexpected, but certainly welcomed. The reps were knowledgeable and efficient and I would come back in if needed without hesitation. read more

The location in Menifee is new but the over the top service is why I go to SchoolsFirst. From the time you walk in to the bank to the time you leave, you feel like everyone that works in the branch cares. I have two savings accounts with them and unlike other credit unions, SchoolsFirst makes sure your money is being put in an account that will be the best for you in the long run. We also opened a savings account for my two year old granddaughter so that she will have money if she decides to go to college. Thank you SchoolsFirst for you great service. read more

Do not use this bank! First off they took $350 dollars of mine just because of mistake they made. They will not help fix it in anyway. Even though they overdrew my account because they made a mistake and desposited money they weren't suppose to. Went to a branch to get help they were very rude and they threatened to ask me to leave because I respectfully said this is a awful bank and need better training. I Windie B-O'Connell have never been a member of Schools First, I discovered, them when, I was trying to figure out where my monies was going 2022. I was reviewing my account at Navy Federal Credit Union in Murrieta Ca. When I discovered, someone was transferring money from my NFCU account to a School First account, up to 4000.00 at one times. when we looked it said the monies was transferred to me. I took my two government issued Identifications, and went to the bank... The receptionist, would not show me these accounts, did not care about the identifications in my name. I believe this was a inside job... I was in jail, when all of this was done, I had plea bargained with the DA, for a DUI, I got 2016... . I filed a police report, with Menifee Police Dept. to no avail. I had never been inside of a schools First Bank until that day, I had used the ATM'S, but that is all. Got a title loan from these clowns and paid them a service fee to have them take care of all the paper work and now they have me running around making me drive 1.5 hours out of my way to get some signatures all because they didn't get the information they needed from the beginning. I have been a schools first member since 2014 and have usually had the best experiences. I have been to this specific branch probably 10 times and 9 of them have been outstanding customer service. They always go above and beyond to make the experience a great one. Today was the not so good time. I went to make a larger withdrawal and the teller handed me the cash and would not count it out for me. I have had problems in the past with getting the incorrect amount back so I always like it counted. Every other time I have been here they have done this expect today. Brittney was extremely rude and just sat back in her chair with her hands in her lap saying "the machine counts it and it's right" I was very turned off with this response. Is it not her job to give great customer service and ensure the amount is correct? I felt very awkward and just left and counted my money in the car to ensure the amount was correct. This is not what I have come to expect when going to Schools First and I hope this is not how they are training their staff (her name tag said she has worked there since 2015). read more
