Worst location I've ever been to!!Terrible awful service!! 3 waitresses and an empty restaurant and they couldn't get it together!! They forgot parts of what we ordered were lax with the 1 other table in the whole place too! Burgers at this location are the greasiest I've ever had at any location. Cabbage soup was the worst and I love cabbage soup!! We won't be back to this location we will make the drive to crown point for our Irish nacho fix. read more

Terrible. Burgers were black, way over cooked, had to knock off the edges due to being so hard and overcooked. Salad with grilled chicken quite bad. Chicken seemed like it was yesterday's chicken and re-heated, poor taste and smell. Did not taste like chicken. And to top it off, well over priced, 10 dollars for a double cheeseburger, 4 dollars for a full order of fries, ended up almost $90. for a quick lunch with my family (tip included). Service was okay. Burgers are the perfect size. They only cook them one way. It's a thinner patty, but it's very flavorful. Usually carry out. The decor is a little outdated, but the juke box ties in the decor. Lots of seating. They offer a Green River milkshake which is hard to find. Their fries are great and service is always quick! Family friendly! read more

Good burgers with a great bun. I'm not generally a fan of the skinny burgers but the meat is good and I actually enjoyed the crunchiness of the edges on the burger. The server was super nice and it seemed to be a family owned business. I would go back and I would recommend this burger joint to others. read more

I have been to this location a few times, and am always underwhelmed by their customer service. Last night was no different. I took my two sons, 19 and 18, for a late dinner. We arrived over an hour before their posted closing time. There were four young girls working in the front. There were no other patrons in the restaurant, and one girl was running a vacuum cleaner in the carpeted dining area, so we were immediately shooed over to seating in the main area. We chose a booth right across from the waitress station. First, the food was fine. This was an average meal and honestly I have no complaints about what we ordered. However, the four girls working gave each other rolly-eyed dirty looks as soon as we walked in (apparently too close to closing time?) and were just short of rude the entire time. They mostly sat at their waitress station, which is completely open, and just stared holes through the three of us while we sat, and especially while we ate our dinner. It was uncomfortable. I don't know if they were trying to made us edgy so that we would leave or what, but not one of them cracked a smile or had a halfway friendly thing to say to us the entire time we were there. It was just a bizarre experience all around. I am not sure we will return. Perhaps maybe just for that odd side show they call employees. read more

Just ordered chili to go. No hi, bye or KMA. Sure did ask for a tip when paying. Not even a thank you. When I first got to the counter, they ( all 3 ) acted like I was bothering them. Overly priced for poor taste. I ended up ordering a Special Cheese Burger, it came out and the patties did not even fit the bun, and were very bland. Food comes out and there was no fries? Fries do not come with your meal so you're spending $10 just for a burger. The waitress then comes up and said something along the lines of next time if you don't want the patties that big ask for bun sized. I feel if that should be mentioned, just put it on the bottom of the menu. The place itself was decent, old school nostalgia brought in. Was a big fan of Schoops, after a 2 year hiatus recently went back. Very disappointed, burgers lacked the taste I once remembered, and the fries were bland and tasteless,unless you dumped plenty of salt and ketchup on them. Very expensive to pay and be unsatisfied. Sorry Schoops. read more

Stopped in Friday night around 6PM.....there was an average crowd, but not really that busy...sat at the counter close to where you pay. Had a Mickey, fries and cup of soup....all well executed. Good crust on the burger, and the usual good soup. The only negative, was listening to the constant bickering of the teenage servers about who has and gets what tables....especially the blonde with the pony tail....a typical whinny teenager. This went on for the entire time I was eating. The place needs "adult" management. Also, asked for a half order of fries....sorry, not at this location...but in Whiting you can get half orders.....the owners still makes money on half orders. Also, the bathroom (men's) was disgusting...not sure when it was cleaned that day. read more

Bought a burger with bacon and chili cheese fries and chicken sandwich for the wife. It was $26 but that's not the complaint. Chicken wasn't real chicken and was like chicken nugget type chicken that was molded together. Very bland and awful. Chili cheese fries was again bland, no taste in chili or fries and I wish I would have gone to Dairy Queen. Chili was extremely wet like soup and just made the whole thing very unpleasant. Burger was ok but wife despised the food so this is the last time we are visiting the St John location. CP location chicken sandwiches are different at least they were a few months ago. My husband and I stop there frequently on Friday evenings as we're traveling south and everything was so so okay until the weather changed LOL. When you look around in every Patron has their winter coat on, it should tell somebody that it's too cold and the restaurant staff told us that management has it locked at 75 degrees. I guarantee you it wasn't even 69. The prices are a little on the Steep side to be uncomfortable while you're dining. We won't be back again until possibly the spring read more

We've gone a few times, and it's always been okay for the price. Typically, two drinks, two burgers, and two fries have been almost 40 bucks. This last time wasn't good at all. I feel like the service has gotten quicker the last few years, but it's because they are short cutting. For instance, we got bacon burgers. The burgers were out in a couple minutes. The bacon was so thick and so rubbery that I couldn't get my teeth through it. When I told the waitress, she said sorry (and it wasn't her fault), but there was no attempt to make it right. I had to outright ask her to take it off the bill, and she could see there was a huge pile of one inch rubber sitting in my basket. She wouldn't take my husband's bacon off though because his burger was eaten (even though half his bacon sat in the pile). When we asked, she admitted that it was precooked earlier and just thrown on the griddle to warm. Pretty much the whole burger was cold except the thin patty. I'm not trying to be a snob here, but if you're asking for 30-40 bucks for burgers, take some time and actually cook the items when they're ordered. If I wanted pre-made, micro food, I'd spend 5 bucks at McDonalds. And if you want someone to come back, when you've SEEN the food was inedible, make it right. We've decided we are never going there again. I'll take my business to Miner Dunn or Five Guys before giving them money again. read more
