My first visit to Durbins in downtown Tinley Park (Harmony Square) took place before the area was fully completed. Now that the whole complex is a vibe, this downtown location has become a focal point, and a pretty important puzzle piece in the overall success of Harmony Square. The good news is that they're still doing the right things to ensure the continued success of their brand. I have to believe that this location would be considered their "flagship" store. The two story spot is well staffed with likable servers and hosts, the food is just good enough to keep the people coming back - without doing anything special that would estrange some of their target audience. Most importantly, this location guarantees them a captive audience. We've been here a handful of times since my initial review, so I figured I'd update my review... the restaurant itself hasn't changed, which is great news. My wife and I stopped in for lunch on their rooftop with one of our daughters, and the experience was fantastic. The service was great. The Chicken Pesto Flatbread we shared for lunch was tasty, and we were able to watch the Cub game on one of the many TV's on the rooftop. The only reason this spot didn't get my coveted 5 star rating is the food. It's good. Some of it is pretty good... some of it is very mediocre, but none of it stands out as being really f*cking good. Durbins just started line dancing once a month on Tuesdays.. I met some friends here and we had dinner first. I ordered the Tuesday special: Filet mignon, appetizer, soup and a dessert. I had 2 coconut shrimp, the stuffed green pepper soup and tiramisu for dessert. My steak was delicious! A perfect medium rare with mashed potatoes and spinach. The soup was delightful! my husband and I came here for some apps and drinks before heading to the concert. was greeted right away at the table and received ours beers fairly quickly. After ordering just 2 apps, it took 25 minutes to receive them. our waiter never came back to ask us if we wanted more drinks. someone else brought our food. we had to ask someone where our waiter was and when the waiter came back with the check he never even asked us how everythjng was and if we wanted anything us. he just handed us the check and walked away. horrrible. just horrible service. also, people next to us by the bar got up and left because they were never served. read more

We had a Dr. Pepper (the syrup was low, so it tasted like stale water), a BLT (chewy bacon), a Durbin's Burger (3 star hit of the night), a side of their chips (needed salt, as did all the other food items), a Yuengling Flight beer (it was out of date by 6 days), and a Yuengling Lager (tasted flat). So while they have a very nice place, they are so busy and understaffed, service lags. Since the beer is a big part of their schtick, they need to keep better track of dates. Out-of-date beer by only 6 days doesn't ruin it, but come on ... this is a beer and pizza place. The food items, noted above, could have been better also. This is a great location and opportunity ... we hope they fine tune their operation to take off in the market. read more

Pleasantly surprised by our visit here on Monday night. The weather was nice and we sat on the back patio. There was a lot of people (and dog) watching to be had because it faces the new outdoor concert and play area. The service was good and the wait and bussing staff were both very attentive. Evelyn was our waitress and she was attentive and often present. I ordered a small thin crust pizza and my mom ordered the steak sandwich with fries. The food came out in about 20 mins and my pizza was hot and delicious. Fresh ingredients and nice and crispy. My mom enjoyed her steak sandwich. The fries served with the meal were cold and mushy but we alerted the waitress and she quickly brought out a new side of fresh fries. We also ordered one drink. I forget the name but it had vodka and butterfly pea tea which made it a pretty purple color. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture to share. The drink was good but served in a slim glass with a lot of ice for $12-$13. Other than that, I found the food prices to be reasonable and the portion sizes to be filling. We enjoyed our dinner here. We looked up the hours and it showed it closes at 2am, we arrived at the restaurant I donot care about being the only one of color, but it was obvious this place was not "BLACK PEOPLE FRIENDLY"... The bartender says "Hi we donot have any servers and the Kitchen is closed.... But it was a little after 11, my family and I felt the Racist Vibe from the time we entered the establishment. I'm not usually the type of person to post things like this, but what happened tonight at Durbins was unacceptable. I went in to pick up pizza for my family and ordered a drink while I waited. I signed the receipt and left a generous tip. The bartender who never even waited on me took the receipt book away. When I ordered another drink, I realized my credit card was still inside the book. I immediately and respectfully brought it to their attention. Instead of helping, they pretended to look around and told me they "couldn't find it." At that point, I asked for the manager and requested they check the cameras. I made it very clear that I had not moved from my seat and that my card had been taken by the bartender. While my family sat at home waiting for dinner and my pizza got cold, I waited 15-20 minutes because I wanted answers. Then suddenly, after all the denial and excuses, the manager walked over to the register and handed me my credit card. No explanation. No accountability. No apology. That alone tells me everything I needed to know. A business is only as good as the people representing it. One dishonest interaction can destroy years of reputation and trust. I'm sure Durbins has worked hard to build its name, but customer service like this will absolutely damage it. Respect, honesty, and accountability cost nothing -- but losing them can cost a business everything. Because of this experience, everyone at my company will be boycotting Durbins moving forward. read more

I have lived in Tinley Park over 30 years and have been going to Durbins for as long as I can remember. The food was never outstanding but it was ok. That is still the case today. The ambience in the new place is over the top not only on the rooftop but even the restaurant , it is very nice.. The event room upstairs is over the top. But what they can't get right, is the service. Their staff is so poorly trained and so uninterested in customer service, I'm not sure how anybody ever goes back there. This was true at the old place and it rings true at the new place. I had a group of nine people go in, four women and five guys last week. We were told there were no tables when we got to the rooftop area even though I could clearly see several open tables... No big deal we went downstairs. It was practically empty. The guys sat at one table and the wives sat at a table right next to us. It took the wives 25 minutes to get a drink order. When we walked in, I went to the bar and ordered drinks for the guys I assumed the ladies did the same thing, but they didn't. They waited for the server which never came until I walked up to the bar. The Bartender said she will send someone right over which she did and then they continued to wait for their drinks to be served. Once again I went to the bar and I said they have not gotten their order yet and the Bartender looked like she didn't know what I was talking about like I just walked in the place even though I had a conversation with her 15 minutes prior to this. Un-attentive, unapologetic, she threw the drinks on the table, and we never saw the server again. We left after the first drink... I don't think I will ever go back there until I hear the service has gotten better, if they don't want my business they're not going to get it. read more

Great job on the construction, totally blown away! This is where it ends though. We got there 4:30 to put in a name for a rooftop table. Was told it was a 45min wait. No problem. Waited at the bar and had a drink. The bartender was working alone, completely overwhelmed. I paid $15 for a high noon and two sodas. 1 hr went by and we checked on the table, they said another 45 min. Meanwhile multiple people got tables before us, I know for a fact we were there way before them. Ended up getting a table downstairs. Not a huge deal but a strike nonetheless. I don't like to complain, just want to have a good experience. At the table we ordered drinks and food. The old fashioned was not made correctly whatsoever. It was whisky and water with a dash of bitters. Tender shook it in a shaker lol. $10. Ordered a NYSS which was under 1/2" think and was completely over cooked. I ate one bite it was no joke like eating beef jerky. Worst steak I ever got at a restaurant. Coupled with a side salad which came out with the meal and a baked potato. I sent it back and didn't want another one. I've never done that before but there was no way i was going to pay $32 for a piece of beef jerky. Our server took it off the bill with no questions. She knew it wasn't right. No fault of hers. My wife was given a cold cheeseburger. Not even warm, air temperature. Other people in our group had better luck with the sandwiches. Durbins is confusing. The place looks like it will be an incredible dining experience. The food is not good at all. The service is sub par in some areas, better in others. Overheard others complaining, "what the heck is going on?!" And I quote. I hope they figure out a better menu, better QUALITY food, more efficient kitchen, friendlier staff with more personality and experience. 5 stars for ambience, awesome 2 stars for service 2 stars for food quality 2 stars for attentiveness 1 star for the old fashioned (downstairs bar) I don't mean to sound too critical and wanted it to be great. I'm being nice. Lower your expectations before going here. I'm sure in time they'll get it right and I'd love to try it again when they do and give them a revised 5 star review. Service was terrible- server forgot drinks, lil plates for appetizers, didn't know the specials, etc. Several tables were left without clean up. If you haven't, it's most likely because you're not from the area nor these type of people, you know down to earth people. Great rooftop dining. There is also inside as well. The rooftop has great views of downtown Tinley Park. The food is excellent and our server Evelyn was friendly and efficient. Hubby was extremely happy because they had Anti Hero on draft. There are probably 35 stairs to get up to the rooftop so be aware of that. There is no elevator. This was not a drawback for us. But be aware. The downstairs inside area I'm sure is great! This place is aa A+ addition to downtown Tinley. read more

Went for mother's Day brunch with my wife and family way too expensive for cold no wine or mimosas were included. Server was very nice and pleasant. Not much of a selection on food either desserts were stale and selection was small. Don't think we'll be coming back here for any more buffets. i normally do not leave reviews on my dining experience but I cannot get this one out of my head. I went to dinner last night with a friend and we had Marisa as our server. She was extremely slow to return and check on us and did not put in the food orders correctly. We both ordered the Tuesday steak special cooked medium and they came out basically well done. We were under the impression that the food would come out as courses, like listed on the menu, but we received the appetizer, steak, and salad at the same time. Without asking how everything was, Marisa told us the dessert would come out shortly, when only the appetizer plates were cleared. it felt very rushed. we went to order another round of drinks, and instead of allowing us to, she said her shift was ending and placed the check on the table without us asking for it. i have never been to a restaurant where I was not allowed to continue dining because of a shift ending while the restaurant was going to be staying open for many more hours. was a disappointing experience. read more

We hosted a baby shower in one of the rooms on a Sunday afternoon! The rooms are very nice and well kept. Perfect amount of space for 65 guests. Attended a baby shower. Room was beautiful. It was very sunny and they have no blinds so the sun shines in your eyes and you are sweating. When I asked Rachel if there were any blinds to be pulled down for my elderly aunts she was snippy and said no we don't have anything like that, just have to deal with it. When my aunt was told the people that were gluten free could order anything off the menu, Rachel again was again ignorant and snippy stating just the pizza. Asked about the channel on the tv again another snippy remark. When I asked another worker what her name was he knew who I was taking about because others have said the same. The food was a 2/10. Fruit wasn't all ripe, tuna croissants and sandwiches were basically all bread. Bacon was either burnt or not cooked all the way. Gluten free pizza very doughy, not cooked all the way. Slowest service I have ever experienced. Started at check in 1 hour wait and after an hour and a half we checked to see how much longer and were told they called us but they hadn't. Then the waitress took our drink order and apps and never brought our drinks and we only got one appetizer when we ordered 2 and had to ask 3 different people for water. The pizza was good but not worth the wait or terrible service. The poor bus boy brought us another appetizer at least 30 mins after we finished our appetizer and seemed overall confused on where he was bringing orders with no direction from the manager or anyone else. As an outsider it seemed to be poor management it was busy but not so busy to be that slow and overwhelmed. Unfortunately this is my second bad experience here so I don't think I will return or recommend them to anyone which is a shame because the rooftop is so nice I absolutely love a rooftop restaurant. read more

Durbin's Harmony square head an event last Thursday with a Motown group and a buffet dinner. Great buffet with roast beef, roast chicken, fish fillets, and mostaccioli and salads. And the desserts were out of this world too. Their chef is outstanding! Service was excellent too. read more

I had a bridal shower for my daughter-in-law. I'm telling you that was probably one of the best services I had from start to finish. Shannon was awesome and explaining the details and figuring out what package I would need. CC and her staff were so accommodating to my guest and she was also the bartender and helped with serving whatever needed to make this a beautiful shower. From the decorations it's you just getting little things for us was so amazing. The food was excellent in everyone complimented and the whole theme. Thank you everyone that participated in making this a very memorable experience for me because this is my last son to get married and it was truly a wonderful experience. First - Dede is an absolute amazing server. Wonderful attitude and personality. She made our night. Really can't say enough good things about her. Second - The rooftop is beautiful with a great atmosphere. Now for the negative. I got the veggie stir fry. So not good. Lacked flavor and the rice (if that's what it was) was thick and sticky. My brother got the Reuben. Meat was dry, hardly any sauerkraut and couldn't really taste the thousand island. My husband got the Italian sausage sandwich. He said his was ok. I'm a 24 year tinley park resident. Started going to the original Durbin's in Burbank 29 years ago. Always loved the food and service. When they opened in Tinley, Harmony Square, I was all in! Atmosphere was great and food was OK! My wife and son took me out" for a B-Day dinner and drinks. Started out great, good neighbors and fun people at the outdoor 2nd floor bar, until we ordered food. Staff and or the help can't get an order right. Even worse, how they handle a wrong order. Bar tender "played stupid" ! They messed up my son's dinner and didn't seem to care. I had to drag the manager "Alex" over to debate. Nice guy if you are a young bar tender but not so good if you are a paying customer. Alex played a scripted role that was very fake. He did nothing to help the situation. I was looking to sponsor a corporate party but after tonight's experience, I will spend my money elsewhere. Very sad! Was a loyal patron of Durbin's.
