I had really taken my time in choosing a moving company for my international move, comparing companies and reading endless reviews, and all the way across the board it seems people have generally had the most positive experiences with Schumacher. I can personally attest to a positive experience with my move from Los Angeles, CA to Italy. Nathan was a wonderful help on the US side. Incredibly communicative and attentive. The Schumacher team is also the only one of all of the companies I inquired with that came to do an in person survey. I felt they were very informative about the process and transparent, answering all of my questions and really making sure I felt confident. The team that came out and packed up our things were nothing short of professional. We had been given a general timeline on when to expect our things and had regular contact and updates as our things were set to arrive and go through customs here in Italy. The whole process was incredibly smooth. They provided me with realistic expectations all the way through, and especially with any possible end-of-journey costs that could come up so I was able to be prepared. Everything arrived safe and sound, with no damage and nothing broken. The team who delivered our things worked quickly and had everything delivered to our home by early afternoon! If life every takes me overseas again I will absolutely be turning back to Schumacher after this positive experience! read more

Absolute nightmare experience. Avoid the Los Angeles branch at all costs! I was originally quoted $5,630 to ship two cars in a single container from Arizona to Germany, starting December 19th. The plan was to route them through Houston, Texas. Instead, without my permission, Schumacher shipped them to Los Angeles. When I demanded answers, they claimed a salvage title meant the car couldn't ship from Texas--a claim I highly doubt. This unauthorized rerouting caused massive delays and endless hidden fees. While in LA, they held my cars hostage until I paid an unexpected $7,765 for an "extra customs checkup." It took over five full months just to get the cars to Europe. Once in Germany, Schumacher tacked on another surprise fee of $3,931.40 just to release the vehicles, completely ignoring their original quote of around $520 per car. To make matters worse, their German destination partner, SATS Group GmbH, was completely unprofessional, clueless, and a nightmare to deal with. They tried to force an absurd, double-taxation customs scheme on me regarding my final delivery to Bulgaria. I paid triple what I was originally quoted, suffered through a 5+ month delay, and dealt with shocking unprofessionalism. The initial contact with Daniel Cassidy was very pleasant, and we completed a virtual walkthrough of our entire house that covered every room, closet, cupboard, and drawer. Despite this, the movers arrived without the appropriate packing materials, and their packing strategy proved incoherent, as we later discovered. For example, they meticulously wrapped a box of tissues (!) and other random items in craft paper, yet stacked several paintings together in a box with no protective padding whatsoever. After many weeks of delay​ with little to no communication from the French team, our belongings finally arrived at our new home​ ten weeks​ after leaving our house (the estimate we were given was four to six weeks). Furniture was scratched or damaged, lamps were broken, and although the moving-in team unpacked most of our items, they were unable to locate the hardware​ (packed but not labeled by the movers) needed to reassemble our desk​ and bed--so they simply left​ contrary to provisions in the contract. When we contacted Schumacher Cargo to report that they had not fulfilled their contract, they stopped responding entirely. We have not heard from them since. I moved my apartment from Manhattan to Paris with zero complaints at a price that was much lower than two other quotes I received. And in fact the price even fell more as move out time approached and we realized I did not need as much pre-packing materials nor the crating for fine art objects I was shipping. My paintings, glass sculptures, clothes, kitchen equipment, rare books, bicycle and few items of furniture all arrived in perfect condition. The office team was extremely knowledgeable and the packers who arrived were extremely efficient and respectful of everything being packed, and worked in a atmosphere of good humor. Cannot imagine a better experience. The shipping took a bit longer than anticipated but the reason was waiting for the rest of the container to be filled by other clients before a shipping date was fixed, that is really nothing they can control. On the France side, customs paperwork clearance and the delivery staff were also very efficiently done. I would not hesitate to use this company again! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, we moved from the US to Italy everything was fine at the beginning they were very helpful but they really deceived us. First they came to pick up our whole house shipment with a half full truck when we were going to need a container for the shipment, they did not send us another truck so because we were very short of time with the deadline for moving we had to leave stuff behind and then take some more things with our car to the warehouse. They had promised us the shipment would take in total 2-2.5 months so we came to Italy with our summer clothes only knowing we would get our things in 2 months. After 2 months we were told it hadn't even shipped or left the warehouse, when I asked repeteadly and demanded an answer they kept making excuses and didn't ship until almost 4 months from the time they picked up our things at our house. We actually received our things after 5 months!!!! and we had to spend so much extra money buying things we needed because we didn't have our things like essential things to cook, clean, winter clothes etc just because they lied to us about the shipping times. On top of that when we started opening they boxes everything had been changed and moved around so much time had elapsed that we couldn't remember every single item we had shipped plus they had moved things from boxes to other boxes. After realizing that things were missing which probably it's more than we can remember they told us the insurance we paid would not cover it because it had a $1000 deductible and of course we were not told that. So they scammed us with the timing, with losing some of our things with not being able to take more things because they brought a truck that was half full and they didn't even have the decency to cover our loses. PART 1 of 2 - We have had a very, very complex move between USA-CAN-UK. We booked SCL for our US-UK move on December 22nd and there was a massive snowstorm set to hit the East Coast that day that completely halted all travel and caused the border to be shut down. Chris L worked super fast to switch our packing date to a day earlier which was above & beyond, and greatly appreciated so we could safely drive our UHaul back to Canada (home country) while we awaited our UK visas. On December 21st, Stefan and his SCL crew arrived on time and were very professional, courteous, and considerate of packing our household belongings. The little things like the crew wearing SCL uniforms, their friendliness, and superb packaging didn't go unnoticed. Super fast too! Very impressed and reassured our belongings were handled with care. We originally dealt with Chris L for understanding the shipping process and obtaining a quote. He spent over 2-hours (2 separate phone calls) to answer our questions and walk through what to expect. Very patient! He also understood the challenges we had with obtaining a UK visa due to the UK prioritizing Ukraine visas and agreed to let us store our belongings a little longer given the Covid delays and unpredictability across the globe. Again, above & beyond. That is very, very rare these days in business and in general when everyone seems to be nickel and diming. We never, ever felt this way with Chris. We felt like we could trust him and really appreciated his direct approach and time. Our quote was reasonably assessed. We paid approximately $1600 more than originally quoted since we opted in to full insurance coverage and also had 100 extra cubic feet than originally thought. The price was laid out to us clearly beforehand. I highly recommend reading every single detail of the information that SCL emails you and spending time on their website. Some people on these reviews complain heavily about extra costs, but we always felt there was transparency and had a quick, satisfactory response about our shipment size - we also know some boxes of ours were awkward sizes (e.g., mattress, dresser) and may take up more space on a pallet. We have since been transferred to Thibaut regarding our shipment and he has been very responsive to our inquiries and very friendly. He calls back or emails right away and we have never felt ignored or ghosted as many people have reported about this company. This has not been our experience at all and we actually feel very supported and cared for by SCL given we have never done this before and it is such an overwhelming process. Of course we have a lot of questions and Thibaut and Chris have always answered them and been super kind to us and patient. I've never felt like an inconvenience with my questions and that goes such a long way for such a big and complex move. Given the global reach and amount of shipping this company does, it is unrealistic to expect in-the-moment answers, so patience does go a long way as a customer. The only rude person I came across was the receptionist that picked up the phone who said she was at the LA location. She spoke in a very rude, unnecessary condescending tone before I could even get my question out. I didn't take it personally though since I am not a rude person, and perhaps she was having an off day as many of us are these days. Naturally we are a bit nervous and anxious about when we will see our belongings again and what extra fees or delays we may incur based on the reviews. DO NOT USE. I moved from Boston to the United Kingdom, and my experience with Schumacher Cargo Logistics on the UK end has been appalling. Everything initially went normally, with the shipment packed and taken to the storage warehouse. After that, it took from May to mid-July to ship the items, with my items only arriving at my apartment on the 22nd August. Somehow, one of my boxes mysteriously disappeared during that time. I took out insurance, which is helpful, but as it turns out, my claim is worthless because the movers on the UK end didn't unpack my items, and I was NOT informed that this would impact my claim. Furthermore, my correspondence and dealings with the company have been terrible, with excuses for the missing box such as "it happens" or "mislabelling". I challenged them and asked to check the CCTV, as I was confused by the fact that all my other boxes (1-21) arrived labelled, but Box 13 went missing. How could a box that has been clearly labelled alongside the others at the warehouse go "missing"? They claimed that my possessions wouldn't be worth enough for someone to lose their job over (which is fair, but also unhelpful and who knows, if that's true...then where did my box go??). I have now been fighting to receive my insurance claim finances back from Schumacher, which is a nightmare. Don't bother with this company. I should have conducted proper due diligence; my goodness, they have bad reviews, and the customers pay the price. read more

Terrible Company to work with and if there were a ZERO star rating, they'd deserve it. I normally read reviews before making a decision but was caught up in the expectation this company could collect our personal possessions from our US home and ship them to our new home in less than 12 weeks. The time frame promised by Schumacher helped determine what items we would ship and influenced our decision not to 'fly' them over. Shipping overland saved us $2,000 ... which we eventually had to spend on clothing and other items as we waited and waited and waited for our items. In short, we saved no money! I have since read the reviews and the majority are terrible (with the exception of Schumacher's own web site ... what a surprise). I would not recommend Schumacher Cargo for personal shipping. Just don't do it. Look elsewhere, consider the reviews and spend more money if you have too. It took 6 months for our personal items to be shipped from the US to New Zealand. The sales person basically lied to us from the get-go and even told us that if we could have everything ready in less than a week that it could be quicker. When I checked in after hearing nothing for 9 weeks I was told that our items were still in the US. The communication was non existent. If I did not ask for updates I would not receive any information or updates. On a positive note, the local delivery company and team in New Zealand were fantastic. They failed to conduct a proper survey beforehand and waited until their team lead wrote up the inventory sheet to 2.5x the price. Another reason, the other moving coordinator left my property on the ground for over two months before getting my property uploaded. Then proceeded to state that the documents were not available even when I had sent them an initial copy to review before uploading in their system. When my property finally arrived, this company broke the security seal on one of my crates (Not acceptable on no level). You have to inform/ request the owner of this activity. Finally, the warehouse manager stated that he will deliver my property on these dates. The SOB delivered my property after those dates he spoke about. In short, dealing with this moving company is like playing with fire. Get burned on all sides. read more

Do not use them - it has taken me 12 months to gather myself together to write this review since it hurts me so much emotionally. I moved from LA to Sydney. So many of my furniture pieces were damaged - not wrapped or very poorly wrapped and packed by them. Broken mirror, broken glass, slash marks through soft goods. Several boxes missing - but the one that hurst most are my keep sake boxes with my late grandmothers iconic fashion pieces gone. All my sentimental love notes and cards gone - collected over 40 years! My childhood tapes and videos of me performing....love letters and so much. It just breaks my heart. And they didn't even care when I asked them to double check on their end in case there was a lost and found area. My expensive Le Creuset cooking set and so much more. And I had to pay them to destroy my goods and lose my most prized possessions. They just brushed me off to the side. It's already a very very emotional journey moving countries and to lose so much....my childhood diarys, letters, cards from friends and family. I am so so sad. Hope this helps anyone considering using Schumacher. I shipped all this at the MOST expensive time as well....during the whole pandemic, so imagine I have spent $11,000 USD on half a container to be treated this way.....that hurts a lot.....A LOT..... read more

We have used schumaker twice in a move from Seattle to New Zealand. The first move went as well as could be expected in 2020, no items missing, no destroyed items, took 3 months but whatever. The second move was not so great. Communication was poor and people were very difficult to get a hold of. Essentially, our moving coordinator was never available by phone which is ok but gets really confusing and time consuming to have multiple emails that take over a day to get back to you. Then the bid was way off, we paid almost double what we had anticipated, some of that was on us for not consolidating. However, the worst part was that we are missing several boxes. As we were shipping our relatively worthless but precious to us items, (our kids favourite books, drawing from kindergarten, yearbooks, photos of dead relatives etc) we didn't get additional insurance. Sure enough, 2-3 boxes did not arrive. I am not even sure they looked for them. After no communication for several weeks someone finally got back to me with a canned email response, "You did not purchase insurance so we will not be helping you." If you do go with Schumaker get multiple bids from other companies and even if your items are not worth money I have a feeling they keep track of them if there is insurance on them. read more

If you want your things moved and then to be charged for items that you did not have moved, and harassed until you pay their made up invoices, then go with Schumacher! Schumacher moved our things, sent me the paperwork, I promptly paid the agreed invoice and I thought this was a good service. Later, out of the blue, they started harassing me with INCESSANT emails claiming that I now owed them a large sum of money and that if I didn't pay them, they'd send it to collections. As I clearly did not owe them money, and had promptly paid their initial invoice, I stood my ground. When I got a letter from a collections agency, I let them know that they had taken on a fraudulent case from Schumacher and they left me alone. Several months later, Schumacher is at it again. I assume that they get lots of suckers who don't look at their bills and just pay them whatever they demand to get them off their back and in fear that collections may affect their credit score. Schumacher do move your things, but they also scam you, mafia style, into paying them more than the original agreed cost of the shipping, AFTER they already shipped your things. They are very nice and friendly until that time. They will work with your overseas shipping partner in the same way. If you go with this company, expect to pay at least double what they originally quoted you, AFTER they ship your items and you've paid their original invoice, or accept being harassed until you pay them whatever they randomly demand. This company is run by fraudsters who tack on bogus charges to your shipping and then harass their customers until they give up and pay. BEWARE!!! I initially tried explaining to them that we'd already paid them, but they just keep demanding more and become very rude and pushy. Now, I just ignore their bully emails, after a couple of years, but they will still try unless you take legal action against them, which I have not had the time or energy to do. I have peace of mind knowing that I have done my part and paid them the original agreed price. It's much cheaper in the long run to sell your things in the other country and buy new ones in the new country you move to. I now know, from experience and from speaking with others, that these international shipping companies are all alike. If your items aren't broken when you get them, you will be harassed to pay them more than the agreed cost, after all their pleasantries. Don't be fooled! read more

I contracted and paid Schumacher Cargo Logistics, Inc. $5,835.00 to transport my Pontiac GTO from Baumholder, Germany, to Houston, Texas, during a military permanent change of station move. It was collected on May 15th,2024, and it arrived at the destination port/terminal in New York on July 5th, 2024. Despite this, it has still not been delivered to its final destination in Texas. The company representatives actively duck my calls/emails. The tracking information on the company's client portal shows that my GTO cleared customs on July 30th, 2024, and that it was delivered to their warehouse on July 31st, 2024. I received an invoice on July 30th, 2024, for Duty in the amount of $23.75 and Bond for the amount of $95.00. I promptly paid the invoice. I contacted the company after hearing nothing further, and inquired as to why my shipment continued to be delayed. I received an email on August 19th, 2024 from a company representative claiming "shipment has been unloaded at our warehouse but there are additional cost incur due to the hold I should have final amounts next couple days". I inquired again, and was told that the info would be provided "by the end of the week". This happened numerous times, without results. I then received an invoice on September 4th, 2024, for an administration fee of $75.00 and demurrage charges amounting to $1,245.75. These charges were issued 36 days after the shipment had cleared customs. I question why these fees were delayed for over a month, and also why the administration fee is $75.00 when the company's own website lists the applicable fee for a shared container shipment as $55.00. As of September 4th, 2024, 112 days have passed since the vehicle's collection. Given these issues, Schumacher Cargo Logistics has failed to provide the services promised in a timely and transparent manner. These delays and additional charges have caused significant frustration and financial burden, during an already expensive international move. read more

If I could give this company a negative star review i would give them NEGATIVE 5 stars Worst people to deal with. Unprofessionals, liers and crooks. They gave us a "quote" only to find out AFTER we have already left the country that the cubic volume of our shipment was twice as much as it was quoted. As a result, we went from a $7500 dollars move to $14000. Their reasoning was that we must have hidden a room full of stuff that we did not show them during the survey !!! We had already left the country and we had no recourse. We were forced to pay the full amount otherwise they wouldn't have released our belongings. Once we received out stuff, two boxes were missing and some got damaged. Rugs had mold, a statue was disintegrated and so on. Even with an additional insurance for $1500 that they strongly suggest we would purchase, I found myself, 4 months after the move was completed, with nothing but radio silence on their part with the claim. This company cashed my check to them a month ago and I had to continually reach out to try to get a delivery date. I told them my available days and their response ignored those details and would send me an email late in the day offering delivery the next day with no time slot. I repeatedly told them they have to give more notice to working people and to set up an appointment for delivery ahead of time. No luck there. I finally said I'm going to get an attorney. One month of waiting for them to deliver is beyond ridiculous! Today their truck turned up at 9:15 am according to my cameras ( I was not notified by them that they would be there at that time) The delivery driver called me and we arranged for a later delivery today which is what I asked Ivan for at Schumacher. Life is too short to hire a company that is too busy for you Paid in full for my move from Ireland to USA end-January. Promised 16 weeks or less and it took almost 6 months (1/23/21-7/13/22). I was lied to by my contact as to the cargo ship's arrival for over a month. Pointed that out to him, since I knew about Ship Trackers and could see ship's arrival date and current location. After my contact parted ways with the company, I wasn't assigned to anyone else. I received and invoice for customs fees on April 27th and received an email stating paid in full on May 3rd. After that, they forgot about me and my 3 cubic meters of belonging in their NJ warehouse for a month and a half (April 27-June 8) until "I" started enquiring in June. Their customer service is abominable, and they're only doing email so you will hear from them at the end of the work day, if at all. When I finally did make contact, there was an acknowledgement of a technical glitch, but no desire to make things right or expedite the delivery. From that point, it was over a month until my belongings were delivered to me by two guys in a U-Haul who were too cheap to unlock the hand truck on the truck and used mine instead. The boxes were crushed and there were 4 incidences of breakage. 2 cases of wine that were to be crated were soaked, handed to me on their sides and 1 box had soaked 5 other boxes after 3 bottles ended up uncorked only 1 cork was present in the box. The next day I received an invoice for $350 for relay charges, since it was easier for the company to hire out the tail end of my delivery and charge me than to complete it themselves as contracted. FYI...$350 is their flat-rate relay charge and they will not tell you where the relay activity occurred. I've contacted and emailed with a manager and the VP of the company, and no one has bothered to respond on a telephone. I did get an email response from a manager stating an inaccurate timeline. After my replying with the accurate timeline and photos of the crushed boxes 10 days ago, I'm still waiting for a response from either Manager or VP. This was my 8th International move around the globe and by far the smoothest. The packers were friendly, helpful and all wore masks (during Covid times in Miami). Apart from minor damages (which will always happen) all my household goods arrived in pretty good shape in Europe. I must admit: I hardly shipped furniture but lots of art, pictures, cristal and ceramics. Due to well given instructions about all documentation needed for import, the customs process here in Portugal also went smooth and without problems or further delays. I hired another company to make my move overseas in Europe and it was a total disaster. The original company dispatched to Schumacher which actually helped me in few critical occasions when I personally contacted them. However, it seems there is a lack of communication through the process among the various companies involved in the shipping process. Therefore, my shipment took 6 months instead of an estimate of 2 and added more expenses (I had to re-buy clothes and other items) without considering the stress of not knowing where the shipment was. Do not use this company. My daughter used them to move her belonging to England. She was told approx 4 - 6 weeks. She paid them thousands (I mean thousands!!!) of dollars and her stuff was packed on Dec 3. 8 + weeks later she still does not have any delivery confirmation. She was never told that her stuff would be held until there would be a full vessel. Apparently she was paying a group rate. She was never informed of any delays. It still needs to clear customs once it lands and then wait for another company to deliver. This has been a nightmare for her. Updating the Schumacher review... It has not gone well. Communication from their end is nonexistent unless I initiate it. We finally straightened out the title thing--remember--they never told me when to send in the titles, so instead of simply mailing them form Vallejo to Gardena (relatively risk-free!) they were sent from Italy and got lost by Fed Ex. Many phone calls finally yielded the information that the titles had moved to Houston, where I finally reached a clerk who amended the delivery address (it had smudged in handling) and Schumacher received it two days later, in early February, after the cars had been in storage for nine weeks! Meanwhile I had a friend visit Schumacher and put a new battery in the Maserati and start and warm up both cars. Mainly, I did not want the cars to be jump-started on dead batteries with dry cylinders; the cost of replacing the Maserati motor would run into five figures...now that's a concern again, as the cars will have lied dormant from mid-January through mid-May. Another bunch of emails and finally I got a confirmation that the vehicles had been containerized and would be leaving LA on February 24. They did leave roughly then, and I've been tracking the ship every couple of days since then. It is now March 24, and right now the ship with my vehicles is anchored off the coast of San Francisco, exactly 15 miles from where Schumacher picked them up to truck them down to LA. SOOOO... Fifteen miles in fifteen weeks is not progress. That ship is the equivalent of a slow boat to China. It's gone from LA on 2/24 up to Oakland, then to Vancouver, now back to Oakland. From there, who knows where? I was told that it was due in Genoa on April 9, now an impossibility, probably more like May 9th, which means we will have been without our vehicles for 21-22 weeks (nearly six months!)--INEXCUSABLE. A number of years back, I shipped my household container to a coastal city in Brazil in 5 weeks. This time, it took seven weeks for our two household containers to get to Livorno, get loaded, trucked to our house, and unloaded in place (NOTE: DIFFERENT HOUSEHOLD MOVERS!) To put the icing on the cake, we've had to rent a car all this time at $800/month. Additionally, out of naïveté, I packed pricey critical items in the cars because we thought they would receive better treatment and arrive first. This includes an expensive stereo system with an irreplaceable turntable, a $20,000 jazz guitar, my brand new IMac office computer and external SSD with all my office files and website data, kitchen appliances, main car toolbox, and god knows what else, which we have been doing without all this time. I wrote the CEO of Schumacher, asking for a partial refund of $800 to offset one month of car rental and was refused--he blamed the whole thing on COVID, disingenuous to say the least, as the problems were in fact caused by their incompetent staff and lack of communication! So now, it's been turned over to the BBB, which does nothing to reduce my outrage and frustration. Next, I'm going onto EDGAR to find out who their board chairman is, and we will take it to the top. Stay away from Schumacher Cargo. I've never felt so deceived in my entire life. I just moved back home and had to ship my car from California to Spain. I was given a quote for $1520 and paid in full when I dropped off my car with Schumacher Cargo. After TWO MONTHS of waiting for it to sail, they let me know that the container was halted by US Customs and want me to pay an EXTRA CHARGE of $743 or else they won't release my car. I was NEVER told about US Customs inspections and had I known they were so expensive, I would have never shipped my car. I stressed the need of going with the cheaper shipping method to my sales rep Kevin Lucarelli since I was on a very tight budget, and he never warned me about any such possible fees. I'm not shipping a Ferrari, it's actually a $13K car for which I'll have to pay total fees close to $3000. Communication has been very difficult. Many of my emails were ignored and had to resend times and times over. If I asked 4 questions, I got 1 answered Worst part is that out of all the shipping companies I talked to, they seemed to be the most trustful. I feel completely scammed and ignored by Schumacher Cargo. Here are the hidden fees I've come across: - $75 for processing insurance documents - $743 for customs exams (their fault, since they are the ones preparing the shipment and did something wrong that caused the container to get flagged for inspection) - 4% of any invoice for paying with a credit card (ridiculous fees for a company operating internationally in 2018) All these should be part of their business costs, and not something that honest customers who are going through the stressful process of moving overseas had to deal with. I regret hiring Schumacher Cargo and now I can only hope I'll see my car again. read more

Moving from California to Europe with a shipping container full of possessions, Schumacher did an excellent job overall. Fair price, an incredible team out of Santa Rosa who did our packing, good communication during transit, and timely delivery. The only issue was the unloading team in France, who were barely competent, especially with a crated grand piano and large furniture items. They arrived with no tools - not even ramps or hand trucks. But the car that we shipped separately was a deception. The Schumacher rep never informed us that the quoted price did not include port and unloading charges in France, which added 50% onto the fee. Nor that our car would sit in port in California for two months before being shipped. Then their France rep referred us to a company who tried to charge us €5000 to naturalize the vehicle. So four stars for their international moving service, but think twice before using their international vehicle transport service. read more

My shipment was delivered in a smooth process. The customs clearing was not troubling, no additional fee paid due to security checking. The scheduled delivery window was delayed for ~30min than originally planned due to traffic, and I have to call the staff to ask what's going on. Beside that the delivery is perfect, the staffs carried my stuffs to my apartment with care, and were very polite. The condition of my shipment after unpacking was also good (I did purchase insurance protection with the company). Will definitely consider their service again. read more

Working with this company added considerable stress, hassle and uncertainty to my move. Shipping a car across the country and overseas is inevitably complicated. But that's exactly why I was willing to spend $2732 to hire professionals and take the uncertainty of the process. I've sent a letter to management explaining that the quote I got was incorrect, I received the same emails multiple times, received contradictory information, was incorrectly turned away when trying to give them my car (they eventually realized their error and accepted it), that 11 of my attempts to contact them were ignored, and that the car was delivered 2 weeks later than expected. The company they used to get the car from California to Hawaii was flawless, they are called Matson. UPDATE: 2 weeks later. I had a pleasant interaction with a manager at the company that listened sincerely to my issues and apologized. Upgrading to 2 stars because he was great, but still had the above issues and company did nothing to compensate me for the wasted time. read more

Worst shipping company. It's been more than 4 months and my car is still not here. They are the worst to work with, they don't even know how to communicate with you properly. My dealings with Schumacher was the best of times and the worst of times. Everybody was helpful and nice. The guys who loaded our possessions into the container were professional and efficient. Everything went off in a timely fashion. This was the best of it. Unfortunately, there was a great deal of duplication in the paper work between Schumacher here in the US and their partner in France. Multiple inventories had to be filled out in French for both companies which was frustrating and time consuming. But the worst was that we were told by Schumacher that our possessions would be tied up in French customs for 2 to 3 weeks and planned accordingly. Now the French partner is saying 2 to 3 days in customs. This means we're going to incur a massive fee for storage and handling in France while our stuff awaits our arrival. If we'd been given the correct information at the outset, we would have pushed our shipping date back a month and not incurred these huge storage and handling fees. read more

Extremely unprofessional. We've been speaking to Chris about our move to London since the last week of April. Provided him with all the information and requested a quote but we never got anything despite repeated follow ups. We finally received an email on May 8th but it had none of the information we'd discussed on the past few calls. We called again to clarify and request the quote but have nothing yet and it's June 2nd now! Chris has no recollection of our prior conversations and on an earlier call also mentioned that he may have messed up our email address which is why we hadn't received an email sooner. He was rude on the last call and now says he's unable to get the June date for our move that we had requested back in April!! STAY AWAY! At least from this specific sales rep. read more

I wish there was a no star option. This company is without doubt the worst company I have ever used for anything. They are despicable. They wilfully destroyed an expensive kitchen they were delivering to me in the UK from the USA. They had total disregard for my property. They didn't follow any of the strict international packing rules. I will post pictures of the $10,000 worth of damage below. Wrapping glass in brown paper, unprotected. They failed to protect fragile corners on the corian counters, breaking off the integrated sink, let heavy items float around inside cartons and threw expensive kitchen components into a box. I was offered insurance but the insurance company Schumacher offered had fewer stars and worse reviews on Yelp than Schumacher. And had I bought insurance? Today I would be fighting from the UK an insurance company in the USA to honor a claim, as we all know... that would have been impossible. I was assured my kitchen would be correctly crated to avoid damage. It was not. Please do you use this company. Steve Blades is a con man and a liar. read more
