You can't miss this place! Located in Depew, it boasts a barn-like facade and a sizeable parking lot. Lots of spaces up front so taking your bottles and cans in is made even easier. Inside, it's eclectically decorated and full of fun knick-knacks, so you'll have plenty to look at while you wait. And the most surprising thing: it is pristinely clean! No nasty smells or gross sights. The employees here are top-notch, too. They are very kind and accommodating -- if you need any help bringing your cans in, they'll give you a hand. And they're super fast-moving as well. I could never keep the numbers straight in my head, so I give them props for being so good at mental math! For things that are recyclable but aren't accepted in curbside recycling bins, you can take your items to Ecopark off of Paul Road in Chili. Today I brough scrap metal, empty prescriptions bottles, and the "bag of plastic bags" I know we all have. No appointments necessary for that stuff, though if you are bringing things like paint or hazardous waste, you will need to make an appointment online. Many things are free to recycle, some have a fee. I paid $5 to recycle a tire on a previous trip. The line of cars is usually pretty long but moves more quickly than you'd expect. Once you're in the building, attendants let you know where you can put your items. Drive out the other side of the building and exit the way you came in. Easy process, and there are a few less items in the landfill!

This time I had LOTS so I thought I'd give it a try. This business is unusual in that the business operates out of the building's side entrance. Parking is adequate, especially since the turn over rate here is surprising. I was met at the door by two very friendly employees who explained how this system works. They do everything. Just hand them the bags and stand back. The system operates so quickly that I was just barely able to keep up bringing bags in. The system is totally automated. Once the workers empty the bags into the sorting area everything is automatic. It's really amazing to watch as the bottles and cans are arranged and processed to a conveyor belt that takes them away. Everything is counted by computer. When finished, you're given a ticket that you take to a window where you are paid. Start to finish, 779 bottles and cans were processed in 6 minutes including getting paid I will never go anywhere else again.

You can donate the money from the cans to charity if you'd like, they have a huge list of them they support (or you can purchase more beer, I won't judge.) Everyone here is helpful and courteous. If they're not too busy, they'll help you carry your stuff from your car to the shop. You're also recycling so you're doing awesome for the planet.
