Sconni's has a super cool venue with great pool tables inside and a spacious interior. We sat outside, and given their decor they've successfully blocked the view and noise of the road. They have fire tables, couches for lounging, and a great beer selection as well. Sconni's is a great addition to the Wausau area! read more

Have been to this location many of times and enjoyed my experience. But after tonight we will not be returning, the waitress we had was very cold with us when we arrived, we asked for little ice for our drinks and she was expressing her opinion with the other waitresses that worked there and we could over here her talking about us. We ordered 4 drinks and left immediately after, we did talk with the young lady about our experience at the door, hopefully it was just a bad experience. Worst part was us overhearing her talk about us! Won't return. read more

This is an example of a restaurant that started out strong and satisfying and now has bugun a downhill descent. Our last visit the food was subpar & the order incomplete. The food literally looked like it had been thrown onto the plate with absolutely no presentation and was very unappealing. Arrival was not vei speedy, was not very tasty and only average in appeal. They need to address several kitchen issues before we will go back again. Service was standard- nothing to rave about, but not poor either. read more

Sconnies is my favorite go to on Thursday nights.for beer and dinner. Tried Sunday Brunch and was totally disappointed. My Eggs and Hash was cold and bland. My Son's Chicken and Waffles was also cold and the Beignet tasted more like donuts. Service is not in par with their dinner staff. Waitress was slow and was busy watching TV rather than checking its customers. Ben, please rev-evaluate your menu and your new staff and Chef. A disappointment tonight. We have been here many times before but tonight we found that that they changed their menu. To bad. ALL the items that I used to come here for are no longer on the menu. Went here on a Wednesday evening after getting in to town. The parking lot was jam packed which I thought was interesting being a weekday and all. Went in and the smell was fairly putrid - that's coming from someone who frequents dive bars. No high tops were open so I sat at the bar. Tried to order a bourbon on the rocks and was informed they only had Jim Beam... settled for a Bulleit rye. Not ideal but could be worse. Panned the menu for several minutes and was having trouble finding anything worthwhile, a couple items listed on their website were missing. Ordered the Amish chicken which was decent but fairly small and for a dive bar, very expensive. Atmosphere left something to be desired - a lot of f-bombs being thrown out and overall smelly and uncouth patrons around me. Left quickly after my meal and got out of their despite the urge for one more drink. Wouldn't go back. read more

Bad first impression: My first time and my friend's second time to Sconni's, but both of our first time for dinner here. My friend spoke to the hosts (which were probably 15 or 16 years old - children basically) asked the basic question and told us how much time it was. So we waited. We stood in the little hallway next to the front door for 10 minutes until I realized that they didn't take our names. So I asked my friend how would they know to get us when a table was ready (yes her fault, but it's the host's job to take your name)? She said she didn't know so I went to the host station and asked if they would let us know if our table was ready. Her eyes became really big and asked for my name and I said they never asked us for our names and we weren't on their list and there had already been a group that came in after us - their names were on the list. She said that since there were only 2 of us we wouldn't wait long anyways and took my name. Then she told us that there was a seating area just around the corner so we could sit while we were waiting. No apology, nothing. The waiting area is too small for the number of tables and guests that they can serve in that restaurant. It was basically a sofa, 2 armchairs and a coffee table. The only thing that saved this place is that the food is tasty. I got the steak and it was juicy, cooked just right, the right amount of seasonings and salt and the sides were very good also. What was distracting was that there are game machines in the same area as the dining area so there were people wandering around with their drinks from the bar looking at the games and playing the games. Which was a bit distracting and because of people just wandering around, there was an accident when a patron collided with a server with a large tray full of food. All of the food had to be re-made over again - which I consider a waste for the restaurant. Would probably go again. read more

I believe that you have to give a restaurant a second chance and I am glad I did. The specials are changing and god for the most part. You can still get a iffy dish, but overall I have been pleased with the food and the beer is always on point. I have made this restaurant/bar a frequent stop in the area. read more

Ben is an excellent bartender! Definite bonus is their tap selection! 32 taps and all Wisconsin brews...really nice to see! I may not be a fish fry fan (though I hear it is good)...I never have trouble finding something on the menu that is worth the money and the visit. read more

The food was good. The service was ... terrible. We waited for a long time to get any service at all. Then, our food arrived but not our appetizer. That came after the meal. The server didn't check on us. We had to ask to pay the bill, then wait, then finally go inside to chase our server down. Again, the food was good, but when you can't get the host to seat you, you can't get a server to serve you, you have to chase people down to pay and when you do so a half of the staff is sitting at the bar chatting...you know there is an issue. This place could rock it, but management needs to make sure the employees are actually on the job. read more

This restaurant surprised me today as I dinned here at lunch. The interior was more appealing than I thought and I was offered great service. I came in right at 11:00 and they greeted and the kitchen was ready. So I ordered the Cajun dish and it looked good with nice presentation but when I took a bite it was spicy enough to me that I couldn't taste anything else. I don't have a good tolerance with spicy stuff so this was a mistake on my part but when I told the server about it, she let me order something else with no additional charge. The fish tacos tasted great and authentic. Exceptional service and good food. The prices may be a bit high but its an advanced bar and the atmosphere makes up for it. read more

Great beers on tap, great food, and a great place to meet friends. If you're any good at pool they have some really nice tables that you can rent by the hour. Great for social gatherings and booking parties. I have been going to Mickey's on occasion for the past 4 years and the place never disappoints. Ate here yesterday with my sister and nephew. The service was top notch. Food was decent. I ordered a goat cheese flat bread but realized after I polished it off that it was the Alfredo flatbread. No matter. It was still very good. The outdoor seating is quite noisy but they are constructing another eating area outside away from the traffic. Is definitely go back. If you are hungry for beer, this is the place to go, but if you are hungry for food I would reconsider. They have a great microbrew selection however I feel that the food is mediocre at best. It is overpriced bar food. The Rueben sandwich that I had contained sauerkraut that was not very warm and the corned beef was not very warm either. The cheese curds were good, but you can get good cheese curds at a lot of places for a better price and better tasting entrees. The ambiance is nice, and I feel this place has potential, but I won't be stopping here for awhile until it evolves more. read more

So disappointing. We have eaten here before when we are in town and we have always had a great experience. We expected there to be a little bit of a wait because it was right at lunchtime and there was s soccer tournament i. Town. The place is spacious and has tables meant for large groups. The weather was also good (no rain) and they had extra patio seating. The setting was great and we could've had an enjoyable experience but from the moment we walked in, it was one thing after another. My husband went in to get our name down for a table, two other groups came after him and put their names down. There was no hostess so it was being handled by whoever walked by. When they started seating, the bypass our group and begin seating the other groups that came after us. Same amount of people in their party as it was in ours. We were ready to walk out at this point and we should have. After we got seated, our server mentioned that if we knew what we wanted to put the order in now before her big party orders. We were thankful for this tip and quickly ordered. We waited and waited. People were getting done with their meals and some were even paying their bills. The group from earlier that walked in after us, had been seated, ordered, eaten, and out the door before we even got our food. By the time our food came, the onion rings were cold. Everything was on the table except for a salad that was ordered. Nothing complex on the salad, lettuce, cranberries, walnuts tossed in dressing. That's it. I never got the water i asked for, it was just way too many issues. We weren't a large party at all, 4 adults, 2 kids. They could really use a new manager if there even was one. read more

First time at this location. I chose it because it had some good ratings and the atmosphere looked good. I'm glad I went because the staff was excellent and my food was fantastic. I had the special which was a jumbolia and they had a nice selection of tap beers. I tried two different kinds and both were very good. I am not sure how such an amazing place ended up in such a tiny town, but the food and delicious drinks were only made better by the incredibe atmosphere and friendly / helpful staff. I was on my way back to Chicago when I stopped in because the sign caught my eye - there is a real canoe suspended in a real tree on the sign outside! After entering the restaurant, you walk through the only indoor aspen grove I have ever seen! What a cool design! The sign and entrance had me smiling already and I hadn't even sat down. After looking around at the beautiful large wooden tables and sizeable game room on the way in, I headed for the bar and was immediately greeted by one of the friendliest bartenders I have ever met. He told me what was on tap and what was unique. I tried a tart cherry ale and then a more mellow cranberry beer, both were fantastic, but I settled on an APA that the bartender recommended, and it was fantastic! The diversity of beer the bartender guided me through was incredible and offered his guidance without being overbearing and allowed me to taste my way to the perfect beer. It was such an awesome experience. I was hungry but didn't have that much time. The menu had so much to offer -- unique foods like a seared tuna app that was tempting, but I was in the mood for some grease, so I ordered what looked to be a cool twist on an old favorite - poutine with bacon and chives, cheese and gravy. I am not sure how they managed to fuse together such an incredible array of flavors into such harmony. This was supposed to be a quick greasy fix but was well beyond my expectations! The gravy and chives floated into the melty cheese, all ingredients were big quality. But what really took me by surprise was the medley of flavors going on - not sure what spices were on the fries or in the gravy - it was like I had tasted this before somewhere somehow, almost in a dream. Oh my goodness, just the thought is making me so hungry right now! And to top it off, the fries were perfectly crispy, even underneath this magic blanket of perfectly tuned sauces!!! I cannot wait to come back when the patio is open and I can relax by the firepits, and just indulge. If you are looking for good food, drink and people near Wausau, this is your place!! read more

This place is great! We've been here several times since it opened and they really have re-innovated themselves. Last night we had an amazing evening with a special event dinner and beer pairing.
