Chicago dog and tons of sport peppers.
Desiree M.

Just found this place after craving a Chicago hot dog for several days, and they do not disappoint. Only giving it a 4 star because I've only had their hot dog special so far, so can't speak to the rest of the menu. The hotdogs are on point. Chicago style beef, the firmer long hot dogs that curve when cooked. There's a little chew, but not quite a snappy hot dog. Served on a steamed poppy seed bun. You have to ask for the celery salt and sport peppers, but they're free add ons and they aren't stingy with the peppers, unlike many other places I've been. The 2 hot dog special for $6.85 comes with a mountain of fries, so fry lovers rejoice. The bag will be greasy by the time you get it home, but the fries are crisp and tasty. This is a little piece of home in the burbs. Definitely worth checking out if you're craving a legit Chicago dog.

Chili cheese dogs, fries with a cup of cheddar!

The Hot dogs were delicious! Fries were nice and salty! Will be eating here again! Delivery was fast!

This is my local dog place. I've been coming here since I was in high school. Love this place! Green River is a must, fries are hand cut, sausage is incredible and the beef is great. The chicago dog extra peppers is excellent.

Scoobys makes a decent Chicago dog. They use is a poppyseed bun which is always a plus. It's very inexpensive and. It overpriced and they serve you a lot of fries. I also ordered their chili cheese dog and it was also very delicious. Their chili was tasty and they don't skimp you on neither the chili or the cheese. When you look at it and you can't figure out how to pick it up with out getting messy, it's usually a good sign. I'll definitely be returning.

Greasy bag!

Yea, the hot dogs aren't bad. Despite the overwhelming amount of grease, the fries aren't bad either (although the grease will cause your bag to deteriorate in a matter of minutes). You get a "free" order of fries with every two hot dogs. I've gone here a few times with friends and enjoyed it for what it is: cheap eats. Unfortunately, I am a stickler for cleanliness. I accept that sometimes its better not to know what happens in a kitchen. But restaurants that offer a near full view of the kitchen OWE it to their customers to exhibit sanitary behaviors. I want to believe these people wash their hands, but I grow suspect when not one, not two, BUT THREE people are touching all elements of my meal without gloves. For shame, Scooby's, for shame.

The flimsy burger bum is not grilled or toasted and falls apart like its its job

The hot dogs are standard. The fries are way greasy, but Do Not get a burger! The hamburger buns are not suited for a 1/3 lb beef patty. I got the jalapeño burger and my buddy got the bacon burger. The beef is ok, but for god sake grill the damn bun! This is grill etiquette 101. I would only consider going back to this pace for a hotdog. They give you more than enough geeezey fries to ruin the seats of your car as the bag is wet to the touch with grease. Scooby Don't!

Damn good hot dog. And that was just maybe 1/4th of the fries they give you. Greasy and delicious lol.

Damn good hot dogs and they load you with these amazing thin cut fries! Poppyseed bun. Celery salt. Sport peppers. Everything a chicago dog should be! Did not disapoint at all! Cant wait to try other sandwiches.

That's a lot of fries!

Date: 2-July-2024 Time: Lunch…read moreTotal (before tip): $7.00 Payment type: Cash Server: Ordered at the counter Grade: B- I have been craving some hot dogs, so I decided to go to the place for lunch. The place looked dead! I ordered double (as in two dogs in one bun) hotdog and fries. After paying, while waiting, I overheard the only other customer ask for a soda refill and it was a dollar... Like seriously?! Also the place is cash only, so be warned. A customer after me came in and had to use on-premise ATM to get some cash out to pay for her food. Not judging here, but that is very convenient way to make some extra cash for a business by having an ATM on-premise. It did not take long for my food to come out. The size was about what I expected it to be. I started with the fries and they were pretty delicious, hand cut and made to order. Hotdog on the hand was alright, nothing too special, typical hotdog. Overall B- experience! The whole $1 refills and cash only, but you can use our ATM situation, bothered me a little, but I will come back and try something else.

He ordered a double chilli cheese dog and they only gave him one! For the price they charge, not worth going back especially if they overlook details.

I absolutely LOVE Chicago Dogs, as living in VA, we don't have access to the authentic thing... So,…read morewhen in Chicago, I always try to hit a Portillos or someplace that has them and on this most recent visit I was too busy to get any while in town, so I ended up grabbing one here, at Gold Coast while about to fly out. I also equally love a good Italian Beef with spicy giardiniera, so I got one of those as well. The guy taking my order was friendly and when I asked which was better, he told me to go with the Italian Beef. I ultimately chose both and waited for them to be made, which only took a few minutes. Each sandwich comes with an order of fries, but I didn't want that many fries, but they don't sell them (or didn't offer them) without fries. When it came time to dive in... I started with the Chicago Dog and it looked decent, even with one sad slice of tomato across the center. It's supposed to have a small wedge of tomato inside it. The pickled green peppers were all at the back of the hot dog and there were only 2... so, I didn't get a bite of this until I got to that part of the hot dog. The rest of it was on-point! They even used a Vienna beef hot dog. When it came to the Italian Beef, I got the au jus on the side to dip and it came in a small cup, so I poured it onto the sandwich as I was eating it. Unfortunately, the beef was very dry, even though there was a LOT of it there and the spicy gardenia was basic and bland... I hardly noticed it was there. The bread was starchy and dense and not flavored well. Overall, this wasn't a very good Chicago Style Italian Beef sandwich. I really wanted to like this place, as it was my only hope for trying the basics on this visit, but I wasn't too impressed. If I needed to stop in here again in the future, I'll only go with the dog, definitely not the Italian Beef.

Long layover in O'hare so I needed lunch and figured why the hell not? When in Rome, right?…read moreThe space is small and u assuming yet manages to feel like a little shop on the Chicago streets. An army of people was cooking and I ordered a Chicago dog, which came with fries and was about $10. No bad. The meal was ready in about two minutes. Freaky fast . The peppers really accentuated the relish and the dog itself was juicy and perfectly Cooked. Eh on the tomatoes.
