Alright, old downtown, Main street, Cibolo is really coming along. You've got Emily's Place coffee shop, Tommy's Frozen Express shaved ice, catalano's Pizza, Harmon's BBQ, the old main ice house with food trucks, and now the mill complex with "the scoop" premium ice cream parlor. The ice cream parlor is housed in a renovated 1920s mill, which also houses an arts and crafts Boutique, and a future Art Studio, with art lessons. The ice cream sourced for the Parlor is from Fredericksburg Texas and has been rated as the number three Creamery in Texas by the Texas Country Reporter. For those in the know it was the same ice cream that was provided by Bonnie's Texas Pecan Candy in Schertz. Priced at about $0.79 an ounce or 3.25 an average large scoop, the same as premium ice cream shops in San Antonio, I got a salted caramel on a sugar cone and it was delicious. My partner got the hot brownie with homemade vanilla ice cream and it was decadent. That however cost $8. So you can go do that chain ice cream place but if you want old fashioned homemade ice cream of the highest quality, come check out this place in downtown Cibolo. read more

Ice cream within biking distance?? Yes!!!! About a nice 3 mile bike from our home in Cibolo. Makes a great family outing. We had a great time. My boys each has a small kids size scoop. One had key lime the other Dutch chocolate. For kids that are not big ice cream fans they did finish it. My daughter had the espresso on a waffle cone. She loved loved loved it. My husband had the Mexican vanilla on a waffle cone. He said it tasted like it had a touch of coconut. It was great. I got a scoop of the raspberry sorbet. I don't like commercial raspberry because a lot of them are artificially flavored and this one is fresh. I love biting down to the little raspberry seeds. . It's a treat knowing that this is fresh. All in all the scoops is nice place to go have a scoop or two. Prices are comparable from commercialize ice cream parlors. I do like how they have a parlor in a boutique. The parlor seating is fun like when I was a child. Stars 1 star for facilities 1 star for service with a smile 1 star for ice cream. 1 star for overall experience - star for bathrooms. (Didn't visit.). Those of you who follow my Yelp know I always grade bathrooms as part of my restaurant or food establishment stars. ....I am back. I went back two more times. Mostly bc the manager made an effort to justify the price of the ice cream (per scoop) and school me on the quality of her ice cream bc I decided that I would prefer to buy a pint of Ben and Jerry's and take the rest of my money elsewhere. Something she highlighted, it's kind of local. Not made in cibolo, or schertz, or san antonio and definitely not in house - but yeah. Texas is texas in this instance I suppose. HEB's plant on the other hand is local, I met one of the ice cream line workers at the Kitty Hawk HEB location. He was so prideful and full of knowledge. He was sharing about their new artisanal ice cream pints. I bought one of those bc I wanted to compare their small batch ice cream too. I also purchased a pint of central markets small batch ice cream. Then saying to myself what the heck, and tried Straus's family creamery too. All fantastic. The conclusion of my study is that all ice cream to include Breyer's, Dryer's, Tillamook, and Talenti is delicious. What all the store bought doesnt deliver that this spot does is the experience. They are running a business and there is overhead. I get it. So after a great meal or on a hot summer day this place is awesome. Now let's talk ingredients, the manager spotlights small batch and limited ingredients. My fav of all ice creams recently consumed is Straus's. They use certified organic dairy products that are Non-GMO Project Verified, certified kosher, and gluten free. The cows are never treated with hormones or antibiotics. They graze on pesticide-free organic pastures during good weather and are given 100% organically grown supplemented feeds in the unique, coastal climate of Western Marin and Sonoma Counties in Northern CA. Limited ingredients to say the least! I just added a star bc this process has made me pay closer attention to the ingredient list of all the foods I am purchasing for my family. So thanks. read more

It's located inside a boutique style shop that's filled with lots of goodies from all kinds of craftsmen. But let's talk about how good their ice cream is! It's small batch ice cream brought in from a maker from the Kerrville area. They have classic flavors that are not classic at all because it's homemade flavoring. They also have flavors that are unique and won't be found anywhere else--like their pecan pie flavor. For those of you who can't partake in dairy like my hubby--they usually have a dairy free option or two. Today he got to enjoy coconut sorbet. I'm not much of a coconut fan, but it was something I could eat again. If you are not searching for ice cream by itself, they also make a variety of sundaes and shakes. I love stopping in at The Mill to just browse and maybe even grab some ice cream. They carry anything and everything you can imagine from cute clothes for littles to adults to products for men. We just came from eating some of the best ice cream I've had in life! Sometimes you get tired of Chick Fil A ice cream and want something different. I looked through Yelp and found this cute place in Cibolo not far from my parents house in Selma. And I'm always down for some good ice cream. It took us only 20 minutes to get to downtown Cibolo but I must say what a quaint area! We walked right in and we're greeted by friendly people working the boutique and ice cream shop. We were able to try different kinds and I finally settled on the Salted Caramel which by far is some of the best I've ever had! My mom ordered the Churro ice cream and she really enjoyed hers as well. After we were done I checked out the boutique with over a 100 vendors who make their own items! I got a geode ring and a passport wallet both handmade. I'm so happy we came through here and folks as consumers we should support local business it's the heartbeat of America. read more
