Went on 03/10/2024. Ordered 2 hamburgers and 2 hotdogs. Literally took 30 min. Food was good but it took to long to get our food

Great hot dogs and a lot of desert options. Love the old school vibe and great place to chill and eat.

A woman called us to the other end of the counter and took our order...finally. Our drinks were mediocre and overpriced - plus my husband's hot latte was served iced. It wasn't even busy! Although it's a cavernous space, one man decided it was his office and was making a lot of sales calls, so we were treated to hearing that unless we moved to the back side of the business. Next time, we'll save a few bucks (and our sanity) and go to Starbucks across the street! We like to support local businesses, but this was abominable.

Then I sat down to do some work, one of the staff was talking so loudly and complaining about work and cursing etc... that I had to finally just get up and leave. His voice was so loud, shrill and inappropriately loud for an employee that it was hard to concentrate . He was so loud over the rest of the staff that customers around be were putting in their earphones to drown him out. Didn't seem to be a manger on site unless that was the person in charge, which would explain the lazy, uninspired vibe of the staff. At least the coffee was hot.

It has that old timey ice cream parlor feel, but with beyond 2026 prices. Seriously, everything in there is just really really expensive. Delicious no doubt, but very expensive. Swallowing that fact for the moment, we stopped in and got some ice cream. I got the Kilwin's chip flavor variety, which is a vanilla and caramel swirl with a litany of tiny chocolate chips throughout. I had two scoops in a waffle bowl. Thankfully, these were not baby scoops, so even though you're paying a lot, at least you'll get a nice bowl of ice cream. If you and a friend or S.O. can agree on your flavor and toppings, it would be way more cost efficient to order a large (3 scoop) bowl and split it. Unfortunately, that's not my life. My love always wants a fruity thing, and I always want a chocolatey thing. Price not considered, the ice cream is ultra premium, very delicious and refreshing. The waffle bowl it came in was crisp and lovely, and as mentioned before, the two scoops were big scoops. The staff were young, very friendly, and helpful. If in this situation again, I would come again, and just try not to think about what it costs.

That was dry so I ordered different flavors. It turns out those were dry and not freshly made too. I'd say it was at least 3 days old if not more. I'd never been served old fudge at a Kilwins before, so I will need to be more cautious in the future before buying. I should have realized if the sample was old and dry the rest of it likely was too. I bought some prepackaged boxes too before I left. All of these items were placed in a white paper bag. It couldn't handle the weight and ripped about a block away. I'm not sure why I wasn't given an adequate bag for the weight. This was a disappointing experience and not the store I remember. I suspect the owners changed. I will not stop again.
