Great locally owned old-fashioned ice cream shop with 32 flavors, all homemade. They hire local teens and teach them about service and doing a great job. 2 of my kids had their first job at Scoop. It takes a little longer than "fast food" but it is worth the wait every time! We love it! read more

Earlier in the day, my daughter had a traumatic day at a school because of a lock-down and all she wanted that evening was ice cream. We to Hartford--arrived at Scoop Deville; didn't realize it was closed because there were at least 4 families still inside (I counted)-- two tables with people, someone at the counter, another someone standing PLUS at least three other staffers just standing around. It was 8:06. "We're closed," the kid behind the counter tells us. I said, "UGH! We tried DQ and they were closed, too! We just want a quick cone." To which the teenager replied, "Well. Guess this isn't your night." EXCUSE me? I'm telling you right now; I've been a business owner and if had a store with customers, and a small family walked inside and all they wanted was a cone that would take 2 minutes to serve -- I would serve them. It was six minutes past closing. I will NEVER go back to this place, and you can rest assured I'll be spreading the word. read more

Amazing ice cream shop in downtown Hartford, you will feel like you've stepped back in time! The owners are great supporters of the community and it is a great place for people of all ages. I've cream is always top notch, and they always have a sorbet or some sort of ice cream for those that cannot have milk products, which is always appreciated. They have a limited food menu, but what they do have is always good. My favorite items to order are the butter pecan in a waffle cone, or any of their sorbets. read more

We've never had a bad experience here. Every time we've come, it's been busy, sometimes more than usual because we stop in during community events. The counter can get a bit confusing when it's so busy, but the staff does a good job of juggling it for their age. The selection is always changing, and they are sure to have a couple that you would never come across at a chain ice cream spot. We noticed the last time we were in that there are dog ice cream treats available. The seemed ab it pricey at first, but they are huge and could easily last 2-4 nights! My pups approved! read more
