First ones in today - food was great! Service as well. A great place to stop after shopping all morning at Elephant's Trunk. Amazing tater tots!

First time here. Pushed back from the road a d a little hard to spot if you haven't been, but the place is very large with plenty of seating and TVs. I stopped for lunch and it was near empty, but the food came out quickly and correctly. The smokehouse burger was very tasty. It was very messy, which I expected but the waiter gave me plenty of towels. I came here looking for wings, which they only sell in 6 packs for almost $2 each. I passed on those of course, but that's one of only a few things missing from the place. Worth a stop if you're in the area.

We went Sunday, March 13 for appetizers. We had buffalo chicken wings, fried calamari and pei mussels. The fried calamari was soooo good. Crispy, hand-tossed and tender tubes and tentacles. Yum! The buffalo wings were meaty and crispy delicious. There are only 6, but we didn't need more than that. The pei mussels were in a white wine sauce. I wish they served it with some slices of toast to sop up the tasty sauce. Will definitely go back. We loved being able to watch several sports at one time.

Stopped in after a visit to the Elephant's trunk flea market. We were seated right away and all of the staff were very nice to is. I apologize for not getting pictures of the menu, they had a brunch menu for sunday's until two. Lots of interesting options but I decided to get the sampler. It came with pulled pork, ribs, brisket and wings. The wings were the best I've had in quite a while, crispy outside skin and moist and tender on the inside. The ribs were good, not fall of of the bone but good nonetheless. The brisket and pulled pork were good, and all of it was served with sauce on the side, not covered in it. The family enjoyed the meal but my daughter's chicken sandwich was kind of thin,( pounded out the chicken breast) but it was ok tasting. The rating is definitely up for my meal and for the staff!

First I have to shout out the manager or owner I believe I heard the waitresses calling him Eddie. My fiancé had asked if he could turn off the radio and put the volume up for the NASCAR race. In this particular situation he very nicely accommodated us. Next our waitress also accommodated me as I wanted an expresso but it was over 80 degrees out and I really wanted it iced. Not only did she make me an iced expresso she also asked me if I wanted her to add chocolate sauce. Great touch to my drink. My fiancé ordered the buffalo wings they were nice and meaty and well sauced. While I ordered off the brunch menu which was three courses. Alcohol makes me feel hot so I had mine minus the alcohol which also had a cheaper price which was awesome. My first course was a homemade chicken noodle soup. Normally a restaurant turns me off with soup because of the salt. Scooters soup was awesome and I did not taste extra salt which for me is Perfect! Im very picky with my potatoes so much so that I normally ask for french fries instead. I did not want to press my luck since I was already accommodated on my expresso and the sound on the tv. Im really happy I did not substitute the potatoes were so flavorful, well seasoned and just enough crisp to them. Nothing is worse than getting breakfast potatoes and their like little rocks. I was also happy for my toast they brought the butter out and let me butter the toast myself. My omelette was good but I probably should have done a bacon one instead of the brisket. My last course was a nice big piece of yummy bread pudding. The two of us were happy with our experience at Scooters.

We went into Scooter's Bar & Grill really not knowing what to expect. We knew they were a new restaurant in town and that they had a smoker! We, of course, went for the wings and were not disappointed. Everyone was friendly and polite, and we ate their BBQ, Sweet Heat, Shmokin', and Slow Death flavors (all smoked). The wings were perfectly cooked and tender and the flavors were insane. Not normally a big fan of scortching hot wings, the Slow Death was delicious and flavorful and the subtle burn came afterward. TRY THOSE! We give this place an absolute (A) rating!

I know all of you have heard of so called "bar food"... well that is not the case at Scooters! Awesome chill atmosphere! Friendly staff and the food is beyond delicious! A must try place in New Milford! Clams cooked to perfection! Crispy calamari full of flavor! Best wings in town! Highly recommend!

But, the food was pretty good (standard) and the price was right. Look, it's simple food, I mean real simple (the potatoes that come with eggs are just potatoes, no onion, no peppers, plain cut potatoes) -- that's the best way to describe it. The price was inexpensive and the coffee was status-quo which was better than I remembered when last visiting. The little side of strawberry jelly they bring with your toast is a definitely a NICE touch. Seriously enjoyed that!

There was only one waitress serving everybody in the place. It was weird because she had like AirPods or earphones in her ears or something and kept disappearing. There's plenty of seating inside and out. It could be decorated nicer. She stated that she felt it was missing a meat and that the shell was a bit overpowering. A Cannoli waffle was also enjoyed. Good cannoli filling and a lot of whipped cream. While the tire shop warned me it'd be a long wait (my car apparently decided to audition for "Most Dramatic Vehicle of 2025"), my son, daughter, and I wandered across the street to 3 Brothers Diner... expecting, you know, a normal diner. BAM! POW! WHAM! We walked straight into what can only be described as the Batcave of dining. Every inch--every single inch--of this diner is covered in Batman memorabilia. From ceiling-swooping Batplanes to walls lined with Dark Knight treasures, it's like stepping into the Caped Crusader's personal brunch headquarters. Gotham could only dream of such ambiance. The place is spotless, the staff friendlier than Alfred offering warm advice, and the food? Absolutely delicious. I had the lasagna--cheesy, saucy, perfect. It was a hot day, and while they have a really nice outdoor seating area, we were more than happy to head inside and cool off. Sara immediately welcomed us with water and shared a little about the menu. I loved seeing that much of the draft beer selection featured local microbreweries... so naturally, I dove right in! The food was creative, fresh and full of flavor. We shared the mushroom potstickers, broccoli Caesar salad and a fresh local tomato soup that was so good we honestly could have ordered another. The service was spot-on, the modern-kitsch atmosphere was fun and inviting, and Sara really added to the experience. We loved our lunch at Sparrow and enjoyed everything so much that we're already planning to come back and work our way through more of the menu.

Context is important. A decent sushi meal in a rural part of the midwest where no other option for…read moresushi exists might deserve five stars, though in NYC, it might merit one. Mediocre popcorn chicken in Taiwan might earn five twinkles in NYC, where the competition is almost non-existent. Sparrow (unrelated to The Sparrow in Brooklyn) is a clear five stars for the New Milford area, a wonderfully rural-ish part Connecticut that nonetheless supports a fairly vibrant restaurant scene. It's one of our favorite restaurants between Danbury and Kent, and if we were to pluck it up and drop it down somewhere in Manhattan, it would still merit at least four stars, probably five. Chef Mike Sorensen's kitchen plays with, and tweaks, the menu often, though a few mainstays have been a steady presence since the beginning. Both new dishes and old are well designed and consistently well executed, while at the bar, cocktails are similarly well designed and competently mixed. Owner John Bourdeau always seems to be present, working alongside his friendly staff as part of a very well oiled operation. On a recent visit, we tried the KFC BAO ($13; two buns, fried chicken, gochujang bbq, sesame slaw, pickles, scallion), a longtime bastion on the menu. These were made with juicy chicken tenders, coated in a remarkably crisp, but not overly thick, crust and a spicy, sweet, salty sauce. The acidity of pickles and slight crisp of slaw kept the gochujang sauce from being overwhelming. We've had plenty of fusion bao in other places involving similar ingredients, but Sparrow's version was unusually well executed. YELLOWFIN TUNA POKE ($22; cucumber, avocado, sambal aioli, sweet soy, scallion, jasmine rice) was commendably fresh and well-cut, about even in quality to what a good mid-tier sushi establishment might serve. I don't love aioli with fish, but its presence was not excessive. The only weak point of this dish was the rice, which was too hard and dry to work with poke. A short- or at least medium-grain rice performs far better in this context. Perfectly ripe avocado, crisp, sliced radishes, and pickled jalepeno gave the dish a possibly Mexican-esque twist. KALE CHOP ($14; local kale, olive oil vinaigrette, soppressata, mozzarella, pecorino, red onion, olive, tomato) included relatively tender kale and small amounts of each listed ingredient. I would've liked to have had more of the non-kale elements, but the salad was nicely dressed and in balance. There was more of that incredibly crispy chicken in the CHICKEN MILANESE main ($26; salsa verde, tomato, arugula, lemon citronette, pecorino). I can't hold it against any kitchen for having an ingredient do double duty of course (the same way my poached chicken goes into both korma and enchilladas verde). But the primary consumer did note that he would have ordered something a little less samey had he known. I loved the transformative brightness of salsa verde with the chicken. Since I'm horribly predictable, I again ordered the WILD STRIPED BASS ($32; potato + celery root salad, tarragon vinaigrette, pea shoots, lupine). The fish was presented with enough variation to keep things interesting, however. The basic preparation of the striped bass was the same (a thick pavé cut, lightly salted, pan fried), but with a lovely green tarragon vinaigrette instead of dill vinaigrette that absorbed winningly into the diced potato and celery root. The potato and celery root appeared virtually indistinguishable, so it was sort of fun to guess which root vegetable I was spearing with my fork, and the slightly sweeter, firmer flavor of the latter was especially enjoyable alongside the fish. Tender pea shoots replaced the sorrel used in the prior iteration. Two of my convives chose to order pizza, each 12" and just the right size for a hungry adult. Both the SONGBIRD ($20; red sauce, mozz, soppressata, pecorino, crushed red pepper, honey) and the ASPIRATIONAL CLUTTER ($23; red sauce, mozz, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, sweet peppers, olives) came on sturdy sourdough crust, generously topped, with cheese and sauce in good balance. The LEXINGTON ($16; Redemption Rye, Amaro Nonino, nutmeg, lemon, club soda, mint) -- likely a reference to the city of that name in KY, not MA -- was served in a mint julep cup and drank a lot like a mojito: light and refreshing. The Pardner had the SAN FRANCISCO ($16; chile infused rum, coconut cream, smoky pineapple, coconut + cinnamon), which was pleasantly smoky, not overly sweet, and charmingly served in a tiki mug. Chef Sorenson does a wonderful job of fine tuning the menu based on what they are able to source locally and serving ingredients at their peak season. Even frequent diners won't be bored by the constantly evolving food. More here: https://eatersdigestnyc8.wordpress.com/2026/07/27/sparrow-bar-and-restaurant-new-milford-connecticut/
