Food quality / price (value) rating 10. The atmosphere is Irish pub and restaurant. This was our first time here. The food was excellent, and the prices for food and drinks were very reasonable. The memu is quite varied, and is not limited to Irish dishes. They also had a good number of specials. I had the Branzino - Mediterranean Sea Bass with sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and black olives over mashed potatoes with a superior and unique citrus wine sauce - excellent! The wife had the Beef Stew, and it had a wonderful unique flavor. The portion was on the small side, however. They offer a limited, but well chosen, draught beer list. The bar is large with plenty of screens for sports, separated from the dining room by a large glass wall. We'll definitely come back!

Another great meal last night at The Abbey. I enjoyed a spinach salad that had the perfect blend of sliced eggs, bacon and dressing on top of the bed of spinach leaves. A wonderful light meal for a summer night. The wait staff was attentive and the meal was served quickly. We ate inside to enjoy the A/C on a humid night and it was quite comfortable.

Clean, open, and fun place for dinner. I love that they give you complimentary bread and they had some fun drink specials for St. Patrick's day. The nachos were definitely loaded. I would prefer the guac to come on the side not already put on top as the extras I took home didn't last well. The shepherds pie was very tasty!

My wife and I have wanted to try here for many months now. Wish we didn't waste time. It was fantastic. We went here for the Sunday brunch special. You get a starter, entrée, and dessert. You can also do bottomless alcohol choice of mimosa, screw driver, or Bloody Mary for a small additional fee. Lots of parking in the lot. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. They consistently checked in on us which was very nice considering how busy they were. Multiple TVs which had different football games when we were there. We didn't sit at the bar area, but it looked fun. Lots of great decor and a great atmosphere inside. As usual, we got to items and shared. I ordered a steak sandwich with fries. She got the brunch special which consisted of steak fritti, stuffed potatoes, and a piece of red velvet cake. The stuffed potatoes were good. Creamy on the top, bacon and cheese in the middle. The steak sandwich was amazing. I asked for it medium rare. They cooked it exactly how I wanted. It was so tender I couldn't believe it. The fries were a great side. To complement my steak sandwich, I had some steak fritti. Cooked perfectly and definitely worth the money. The eggs went along nicely with it. The Red velvet cake was good, but not great. The frosting and cream delicious, but the cake was a little dry. Considering how the rest of the meal was, didn't bother me. Looking forward to going back for Sunday brunch soon. Five stars!

Ok... decided to try Door Dash. The delivery experience was good and I gave that a 4*. In all my reviews I have never given a 1, until now. the Abbey food was sub par at best. Check out the "burnt" nachos which was chips and melted cheese. That's it. No other items like jalapeños, onions, olives - NADA. Just burnt chips and melted cheese. Came with a small guacamole, salsa and even smaller (maybe 2 tablespoons at most of Sour Cream. I ordered 2 orders of wings and asked for all "flats" and BBQ. I got Buffalo wings (check the picture attached). Not much more to report. The sautéed spinach was good and the Southwest eggrolls were over cooked and dry. Not much else to say. Hence the 1*.

Stopped in for brunch to give it a try (first time here). They have a prix fixe for bottomless brunch. It was $37 and includes unlimited mimosas, screwdrivers and bloody marys. You also get to pick an appetizer, entree and dessert. It's a great deal. The salad appetizers were good (got the tomato burrata and Caesar salad). For entrees we got steak and eggs and Atlantic salmon. Also pretty good. For dessert we got cheesecake and chocolate cake. The cheesecake was great, chocolate cake was too sweet and heavy for my liking. The mimosas were enjoyable. We had a good time.

Great lunch spot in New Milford. They have separate dining and bar areas, with music and a helpful staff. The Kobe burger is amazing (previous visit) but today I had the corned beef sandwich. It was delicious. Not your typical sliced meat sandwich... this was actually thick corned beef cut thick. French fries are thick and crispy. Definitely worth a visit.

You could see some nice smoke rings on the intact pieces of meat. Cons: - Service. The staff member we encountered when we entered and asked about our reservation (a manager of the restaurant or perhaps just of the cocktail program, we learned) was incredibly rude and unfriendly. We had barely begun to eat our food when she came by our table and asked us if we would like to-go bags. We were a bit shocked and asked her if she needed the table for some reason. (The restaurant was less than half full.) She said no, but the messaging to us that she did not want us at the restaurant was quite clear. With a lot of effort I did draw out some of the superficial signs of friendliness from the bartender working under the manager, who had initially echoed the manager's coldness. But it ought not be on the customer to extract a non-miserable customer experience, especially on a celebratory occasion. The person who brought out our food was competent, pleasant, and helpful. Middling: - The Lumberjack cocktail was well designed and well made. If only those behind this cocktail program were not so angry at having to interact with customers! - Mashed potatoes had the texture of being scratch made, but also had a hint of margarine. Margarine is a no go in our book. - Corn bread was very sweet and moist, Northern style. It may just be a matter of personal preference, but I am partial to Southern style corn bread, a bit more crumbly, not sweet and not cake-like, where the flavor of corn is more prominent. TLDR: Pleasant space, some excellent food and cocktails. (The non bbq items we tried were so-so, but where the smoker was involved, it didn't seem like you could go wrong.) Hospitality was a fail. We have a few good options for bbq in the area. We are in no hurry to return to Cowboy Butter.

Our buxom 58 year old barkeep served us up some Buffalo wings, potato skins and a round of brew. Half way into the visit, she returned to ask how the wings were, since she'd never tried them. Before we could respond she was dipping into the discarded bones and gnawing on the chicken knuckles from a wing I had just tossed in. I was waiting for Ashton Kutcher to pop out from behind the Big Buck Hunter arcade game and tell us we were being punked. Totally epic!

We started with a couple of drinks, which were very strong..maybe a little too strong. My sangria didn't taste like sangria at all, and I honestly couldn't tell what was in it. It didn't have any fruit, and I think vodka was added. We ordered the calamari and what was listed as hummus with pita. When it arrived, we noticed the "hummus" was actually spinach and artichoke dip. I had to ask about it since I have an allergy and wanted to make sure a certain ingredient wasn't included. We decided to keep it and I'm glad we did because it was absolutely delicious!! The calamari was just as good, if not better. Both appetizers were fantastic. For our entrée, we ordered the rigatoni to share. There was a bit of confusion, as our waitress (who was also the bartender) thought we wanted it packed to go, when we actually planned to eat it and then take the rest home. She quickly fixed it in the kitchen, so really no harm done. My only guess is that since we had been sitting with appetizers for quite a while, she may have assumed we were finished eating.. I mean it was a while. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very good. However, it was topped with microgreens and cilantro which really threw me off! I've never had a pasta dish garnished with cilantro, especially instead of something more traditional like basil...? It felt like a strange choice and was a bit unappetizing for me. Overall, it was a very... odd... first experience. Would I give it another shot? Yes, but I think I'd wait a bit and hope things become more organized. I have to add it is beautiful inside. We had been in and it was so tasty we came back because Kelly had to work on our first visit so hoped she could experience the great food and service we enjoyed previously with Rebecca outside on their gorgeous deck. We placed our orders and they arrived timely. Unfortunately, while service from Jill was exceptional, our meal wasn't as good. The Rueben sandwich was a disappointment as the bread was very lightly toasted, you could feel a slight toast, but couldn't see it resulting in a very soggy meal to attempt to eat. Some of it, we fork/knifed. Great Rueben's are grilled and the menu description says grilled (see pics). I will say the corned beef was good as was the sour kraut. Our son had the black diamond burger which came dry, no Dijon mustard so he had to request it, which came cold in a bullet (small metal sauce holder). This resulted in it not having everything mesh as well as if it had been put on immediately while it was assembled. His fries were also Luke warm. Kelly really enjoyed her meal, she had the bay crab burger with veggies instead of fries as did I (Rueben) and they were great. Finally the hubby picked the Punjabi version of the chicken tiki masala which is just a spicy version. Again, the chef missed the mark and it came out bland. Johnny showed it to our great server Jill and she retrieved some red pepper flakes for him to add himself. It made it taste slightly better, but couldn't have been incredible if it had been incorporated with the curry while cooking so all flavors meshed. The restaurant is so pretty with multiple dining rooms for different dining experiences. While we thought the chef missed the mark on 3 out of 4 dishes, it wasn't awful and we definitely will be back. Both Rebecca and Jill are lovely, knowledgeable servers, the restaurant is always clean as are the restrooms. If it's a warm day, the deck is right on the river.

We came here because it was highly recommended and the ambience was great. In our first visit, our food took forever to arrive and service was very slow. I ordered the Reuben and when I went to pick it up, there was a large hole in the other side of the bread and the whole thing just fell apart. . The pastrami was very dry and just not very good. Aside from that my wife's meal was very good and we had a beverage and enjoyed the ambiance. This time we went and felt that we had lucked out because there was no one in the place. Our first mistake was, we sat at a high top in the bar, but it was too close to the door, so it was very cold. Every time the door opened the cold air with flow in. I put that on us for choosing a poor seat. The waitress promptly came over and took our drink order and said she would be right back to take our food order as we were very hungry. We waited and waited and it took a while for her to arrive. It looked like she forgot about us and quickly stopped by the table after walking past And asked if we were ready and took our order without writing it down. About 10 minutes later someone else came over and said I'm trying to confirm your order because it was not written down and make sure that we had ordered was ordered properly. The place had hardly anyone in it and not all the tables were taken so we expected our food to be received rather quickly however, after about a half an hour, we started seeing the tables that came in after us were receiving their orders and we still had not arrived. We both had ordered burgers which didn't seem that complicated. After about 15 more minutes, and since we'd been there, almost an hour we still had not received our food. My wife finally went up to the bar and mentioned something to someone there and she said she would go check on the kitchen. She went into the kitchen and immediately came out with our food. Strange? So we basically waited almost an hour for our food and it appeared to have been ready in the back and just sitting there. When we first tasted our food, it was not warm at all. The fries were cold and soggy, and my both of our burgers were warm not hot. This convinced me our order was there and never picked up. At first we thought about sending it back but then after waiting almost an hour, we decided just to eat it and leave. I feel bad having to leave a bad review but it is what it is and that's what happened. I would understand if the restaurant was overly crowded but like I said there was many open tables so I'm not understanding what was the issue. They were running food out, but these runners seemed a bit confused. After two tries, I'm not sure we'll try it again because we like the other place in town up the street just as much. We traveled almost an hour just to go here. There are places that are closer also much better and actually in town.
