She did not say anything acknowledging a problem from that side of the register. I wished her a happy New Year and left. I will be a repeat customer because the meal was great. But I should have had been told the gravy was extra. Now that I do know, I can't imagine NOT ordering the gravy. The bread on our sandwiches has been fresh and soft, with no off notes either texturally or taste/smell. The meat and cheese have been tender and well seasoned, and at a good ratio to the bread. The hot pepper can really lean towards the hot side; I almost feel like asking for a third hot and two thirds sweet. :) Bottom line, we've had three great experiences here and are glad to have this restaurant so close to our home. Chanel, who took our order, was outstanding. She was courteous, patient, and kind, and she walked us through some of her favorite sandwiches when we weren't sure what to get. Her attitude made the entire interaction feel relaxed rather than rushed. We initially planned to order our food to-go out of respect for the time, but Chanel encouraged us to dine in, letting us know that they serve guests right up until closing. That level of hospitality--especially at the end of a shift--goes a long way and was truly appreciated. The food itself was excellent, fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we needed at the end of the day. Between the quality of the meal and the exceptional service, we will definitely be returning.
